I still find it weird that people play games on PC's. Aren't PC's for, like, email and Facebook and stuff?

I ask the same when people use consoles for netflix and youtube...no seriously, I do.

 

 

I'm sure not all PC players want to play with a bunch of people using trainer hacks. No point playing death match games when somebody/everybody is invincible for example.

You act like this is a pandemic. There were trainers on the 7th gen iterations and everyone survived.

People trying to 'ruin the fun' will never stop on any platform. Trying to make this out to be a PC-only issue makes it feel like there's some ill will attached.

PC may have fewer people for high end games like this because of system demands, but a lot of those players also likely own consoles or at least play on them. A bit like thinking that guy who has a Lamborghini doesn't also have a Ford.

I was so far deep into PC gaming and overclocking at some stage. I built the second slot one smp celeron in the world back in the day and that needed some pretty fun soldering on brand new cpu's. Running a voodoo 3 . I ran some more PC's after that but you are just throwing money at nothing and ultimately games run better for cheaper on consoles. The entire GTA section right now on these forums is full of people trying to get the game to run right, stuff that. Life's too short.

 

The only part from that machine I use in my non pc gaming life is the IBM Model M keyboard, still the best keyboard in the world, typing on it right now, are you all jelly...? lol thought of the moment.. I wonder if there's a way to convert it to blue tooth and use it on the ps4...

I'm not sure you can equate a high end PC to a Lamborghini. You can get one for $2000 dollars. You're mistakenly assuming that all console players are poor because they don't have high end PCs. I have no problem paying 2k, I just don't want one.

They can't stop it, this was always going to happen and it's going to get 100,000 times worse. But hey at least if they attempt to fix it they might be too busy to bother with patching the harmless glitches out of ps4. Although I doubt it because the PS4 is their money maker. PC wont need cash cards, make your own money / spawn sell-able cloned cars has probably already arrived.

It's partly because of the terrible reputation PC gamers have among console gamers right now. It's hard to have any discussion about games that run on both console and PC without seeing "master", "race" and "peasant" thrown about. In fact, even your suggestion as to why console gamers care is that console gaming is dull. You're answering your own question, really. We did just fine without the PC Masters Race guys in the mix here.

 

Another reason is that we saw the issues on PC coming a mile away. Rockstar couldn't keep the lid on modding on PS3, PC online is going to be even more of a modder pissing contest. Thus Rockstar will probably spend 90% of their time on trying to keep PC from being anarchy, which of course won't work. Any update we might receive at some point is the result of what time Rockstar can spare with their continuous modder problem. That is not the average PC gamers fault, but again, we did just fine without it.

I think since GTA IV the games have a cycle, it's just a matter of time before V becomes what IV became, a kind of ghost town for a modders canvas. it's inevitable, right? GTA VI will come out and have as much people playing V as IV has right now. Us consoles had a good run for a couple of years but now the PC has it and can have the freedom to be creative with LS in ways which only developers could before.

The R* Banhammer will be wielded soon....

 

All they need to do is download it, find out how it modifies the code and then plug that into the servers. If the server detects the trainer it will then permaban instantly!

 

Since each RGSC account is tied to a single key, that means that account is forever banned and the owner needs to buy the game new and start again at level 1.

 

So the Banhammer will be waving at the next patch, when the code is modified to include the detection.

 

Won't be long.

 

That is the big difference between console and PC, bans are easier to make sure they stick! Hackers cannot afford to constantly repurchase the game.

Gaming did not start on a PC. I'm pretty sure the Cathode Ray Tube Amusement Device predates anything on a PC

You're crazy man, gaming on PC is an extremely recent thing as far as gaming goes. Most of my gaming rigs were ancient before a PC could display more than 16 colours .

 

We had 4096 colours and pretty good resolution on the Commodore Amiga some eight years before a PC was comparable. We had hardware scrolling, hardware custom sound even before than on the C64. A PC _STILL_ to this very day can not perform as were as a 1986 Amiga in the vertical and horizontal scrollers no matter how many ghz you have, it just can't do it.

 

PC's are good to play games now for some types of games, but this only started to happen with the Voodoo cards and that wasn't until the later 90's. That was 20 years post Atari 2600 (a console).

It says a lot that my one and only console was an Atari 2600.

 

I went keyboard and joystick all the way after that, Commodore 64, Amiga and finally jumped to PC in the mid nineties, when an AMD K6-200 and 3dfx Voodoo 1 finally made it to my desk in 96, yes it was Win 95.
