I want to be able to play free roam with free aim so I can actually ride a bike without getting shot down in 5 seconds, but I want the auto aim for heists and contact missions.

Free roam should just mix both, and have to so auto aim users can't lock onto free aim users.

go to story mode... settings and change the aiming mode to freeaim, go to freeroam.

 

feel like doing some heist and missions?

 

go to story mode, settings and change the aiming mode to autoaim.

 

see that was simple!

It actually makes sense, that's why I barely ride motorcycle's knowing the fact you could get easily shot off with little effort. But it won't happen much like the chances of winning the lottery or getting to be with your favorite celeb.

Yeah but every time you switch between story mode and online you've got a 75% chance of getting stuck up in the clouds or getting the old "Network timed out: Return to GTA V and try again later"

 

 

i play both aiming mode so i can survive in that environment!

 

 

Apparently on the PC if you play with keyboard and mouse it wont auto aim but you are put in the same lobbys as people using controllers who do have auto aim.

Simple, but I don't want to waste 10 minutes by doing that every time.

 

OT. Sounds good, more options are always welcome. Sadly people don't understand, THAT WOULD BE AN OPTION.

A few ideas that to me make the most sense is the simple solution.

 

1. put all aiming styles together like PC apparently does. The free aim elite should have no trouble taking out the AA peasants.

2. K/D should only count for death matches. Free roam kill shouldn't count since there are to many ways to get cheap kills.

3. Death matches should be forced to be free aim. PvP means nothing when in AA.

4. you shouldn't be able to lock on anyone in any vehicle.

5. Make targeting changeable on the fly if someone wants to free aim in free roam and AA in missions.

 

For the record I play both ways depending on if I'm by myself or with my crew.

Yes its an actual play setting, yes it does what youre asking. But its a soft lock, not a tracking hard lock. Deal with it.

To be fair, a keyboard and mouse is king with shooting games, especially with those people that have laser-like aim with a mouse. Those guys be getting headshots with no effort. :p

 

They had options to change aim preference in GTA IV's deathmatches and other jobs... don't know why they took that out with this game.

I hate how it segregates us into different lobbies based on our control setup. I like to use free aim but I always end up in less populated lobbies and miss out on a lot of job/heist invites. It's not too bad during peak hours but sometimes I have to switch back to assisted aim to find people to play with it. And having to leave GTA Online to make that change is very annoying. Aim type should be open in lobbies/pve jobs and be able to be specified in pvp jobs
