Transferred character from ps4, cant connect to any lobby

Hi

 

I just purchased gta 5 on ps4, completed the prologue mission and went online. I transferred my character from ps3, can run around fine by myself. But if i try and join a friend I get a connection failure, half the friends I try to invite say they get a message saying I need to complete the tutorial first. The other half I can invite but they still cant join me, either "unable to join game session" or the same message about both of us needing to complete the tutorial. I have also tried joining friends through the party chat with no luck.

If i try to join a normal session I get put back in my own room, with a message saying "you are still que to join a full session"

 

I read that there were issues with the latest patch regarding this, however having just started playing again and transferring my character I wonder if I have to either play more of the story first, or even create another character online and do the tutorial with them?

 

Does anybody have any ideas whether this is a problem still with the latest patch or if I need to do any more gameplay / tutorial on a new character?

This is a Rockstar bug. It was around a few months ago and then fixed. Then it returned with another hotfix. They have yet to fix it again.

 

Use your crew menus to send invites, or join them through the PS4's Friends menu.

Ok thanks. Thought it was strange that I would have to do the tutorial again even though I transferred a character and wasnt sure how much of single player I would have to do first.

 

Hopefully they will patch it again soon. Thanks for your help

This is 100% correct. Happened to a friend and I about 3 months ago or so. I was on the PS3 at the time. R* "should" get around to fixing this as soon as the PC version is smoothed out, I'm guessing. With the launch of Heists and the PC GTAV, R* has had it's hands full I'm sure.

Are you saying you just want to join a public lobby and can't? What are you experiencing when you try to do this?
