ralphdsm
this is taking forever to install. they should put it on a usb or something. anyone else agitated by this?
lol232
A massive USB is very expensive ($10-$20), while 7 discs cost only $1, or less. Eventually, PC will switch to blu-ray (mine already has bluray and many other PC's are getting it, but it's still a bit early for them).

ThunderBanana
pretty funny that the ps3 had a bluray player on launch wich is, 8 years ago or so and still ALOT of pc's dont have it yet including mine That's because Sony was trying extremely hard to make their Blu-ray the new standard format for optical media over Toshiba's HD-DVD. It worked, as you can see lol. The PS3 was the primary reason Blu-ray was/is so successful. Mate believe me, your worst nightmare is not at all about those 7 "easy" DVDs, but about what you should do just after having finished with them... => http://gtaforums.com/topic/784070-5gb-patch-required-for-physical-copy-is-it-real/ BTW, good luck to you Edited April 14, 2015 by Shorty_F TubewayArmy and ThunderBanana

Alarming
It's normal with new technology. Example. They were still making and releasing stuff in floppy disks years and years after cd Rom's were released. For about 7 years cd rom's were the norm and CD burners were a luxury item, now it's not even counted as anything special. They(game makers) won't release on usb due to irisk of corruption and or usb sticks failing. Imagine a batch of say 100'000 usb sticks failing at $5 a pop. Half a million dollars alone in new usb sticks plus the shipping and lost labour etc. Cd's are stil the safest and cheapest methods. Thalyn
@NL_Bumblebee Because BluRay was designed by.... Sony. This is why the PS3 had a blu-ray player (to push the game devs to use Blu-ray...). For each Blu-ray disks and player, Sony earn money (Royalties). DVD was designed by Philips, Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic without royalties (because it was a universal choice).Blu-Ray isn't a "universal" (or standard) choice, it's about lobbying and business. There are many solutions better than the Blu-Ray, but these companies or consortium haven't the money nor the influence to make their technology as a standard (in contrast to Sony, who imposes its format (not the best technology...), only by lobbying and "force" the game developers, for example, to use their format. No, Sony has never been friendly (since the ten last years, Sony use the same policy as Apple... It's the reason why Apple and Sony are very good friends now (VAIO)). The day where the Blu-Ray will become a trully free standard, then, the DVD will be dead (but it's shame for the real progress, because Blu-Ray isn't a good technology nor the best). And Rockstar have 2 choice: Use the DVD or Blu-Ray, or better another technology. But Rockstar haven't the choice: DVD is cheaper (no royalties), other technology is very expensive in production (because nobody wants to use... afraid by Sony), and Blu-Ray is expensive (not to made, but by its royalties). Why offer some royalties to Sony, while Sony already earns lot of money thanks to Rockstar (console sold thanks to GTA V).Rockstar will provides games on Blu-Ray (as many others developers/publishers) when Sony will paid them for that or when Sony will stop to ask for royalties. Stinky12
Not much PC have blu rays and even if every PC has a blu-ray drive, it still needs 3 blu-ray disc for the sake of compatibilty with the different type of blu-ray drives.
