Bonaldo
I have GTX 970, 8 GB RAM and i7 4790k My settings are everything on the highest, 1080p + MSAA x2 and the framerates are good, but the game often stutters for no reason and it's annoying as f*ck. Even the sound stutters The best thing is sometimes when I turn the game on it stutters, but sometimes it doesn't (i.e the framerate visibly drops but no stuttering). Video memory usage ingame is 3485 MB. Anyone have it the same? I wonder if it's because of 970's 3.5GB of RAM, or because R* f*cked up the optimization? x-ReGaL-x
I had loads of stutters on my GTX 980, but then I removed my overclock, and it worked. Also found out that if you use the Nvidia shadows the framerate drops, but then if you change it to smooth or anything else, and then back to Nvidia shadows, then it is butter smooth. Sleepy Dude
same problem with my 970. i found if you change the direct x level it temporarly fixes i, but starts stuttering later. then you have to restart and change it again.

K.Walters
i7 4771 3,5Ghz GTX770 2Gb 8Gb RAM SAME THING! Massive stuttering, popins and blurred textures. I have tried high and low settings. 1,5 VRAM used, 2,5Gb VRAM used. FPS is 70-120. I DON`T belive that my PC is too weak for this game. FFS It`s above recomended specs and it does this crap even on lowest possible settings with all the cool features off. DID THE GAME GOT DELAYED 3 TIMES FOR THIS!??! chasez
8GB of ram is a bit too low. Buy 16GB at least. I have: AMD FX-8320 8 cores @ 3.50MHz XFX Radeon HD7970 3GB 16GB 1866MHz DDR3 ram 1080p monitor Almost all settings are set to very high (Some of them I really don't see a point of turning on) Lowest fps I get is in the desert area, drops to 22fps from time to time but mostly it's above 30fps. The highest fps I get is in the city which is awesome. Edited April 14, 2015 by chasez

IMO it's a drivers or game issue I've seen on the internet that not only GTX 970 owners have the stuttering issue, like for example here - https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/communities/public/questions/203455397-GTA-V-PC-lag-spikes I hope either NVIDIA or R* patch it soon 8GB of ram is a bit too low. Buy 16GB at least. It doesn't matter, 8GB is enough GTA V doesn't use anywhere near 8GB memory Edited April 14, 2015 by Bonaldo Thalyn

nkjellman
Having the same issue with the GTX 970 4 GB. I have a i7 4790k, and 16 GB of RAM. I get like 55 to 60 FPS, but the game goes like this. Smooth smooth smooth lag smooth smooth smooth lag smooth smooth smooth lag and so on. I think that it is an issue that will be fixed in a driver update or a game patch because the GTX 970 should be able to handle the game. Note : I get no pop ins or crashes. Just butter smooth frames with a lag every 3 seconds. Edited April 14, 2015 by nkjellman
gdfsgdfg
My stutters in this game are insane but then again I am forcing the game to use more vram than my gpu, but who gives a sh*t when I can see this in its full glory for a few minutes before the game becomes unplayable. Make sure to disable steam overlay and set the game priority to high with the task manager.
