Did they break Passive Mode?

I tried using passive mode the other night and as I was driving around, someone started shooting me and my car, normally this wouldn't bother me but this time I actually started losing health. I know I was still in passive mode because the person shooting me was translucent, as was all the other players.

 

Also, did they add a timer to passive mode? I noticed a timer in the bottom right corner for passive mode and once it hit 0, I checked and I was no longer in passive mode. What the heck is that about??

Sounds like a glitch to me.

 

And I have no idea what that timer is. What console are you on?

Well considering your on PS4/One it must be a bug. I've had times where players have been able to run me over on PS4 even though I was in passive. Also passive will disconnect automatically if you kill another player whilst using it.

Since you can run people over in passive you are also vulnerable in cars so simply don't get in a car if you want to live or you can be shot. Or upgrade your car so your too fast to shoot
