R.I.P Lost Slamvan (blacklisted on PC)

it appears that Rockstar still persists in enforcing the no-fun environment policy regarding harmless vehicles.

 

For those who do plan to transfer your character to PC platform be aware that the updated blacklist will delete the following personal vehicles:

 

Lost Slamvan

Deludamol Rumpo (thought R* forgot it existed)

Thrashmaster2

Barracks3

PostOp Boxville

Mule2

Duke'o'Death (unconfirmed)

Go Go Monkey Blista (unconfirmed)

 

Well... even though modders will probably find out a way to bypass the blacklist on the PC sooner or later, it seems that it is only a matter of time before the revised blacklist gets transfered to all platforms.

 

Also for those lucky enough to save the police outfit be sure to have it on once you transfer, if you plan to continue using it, as the transfer deletes all saved outfits.

 

Update: Transferring will also remove North Yankton plates and green window tints from all your personal cars.

Rockstar's no fun policy, and the fact some vehicles were ment to be Single player only and are utility vehicles. The lost Slamvan is an odd one.

I didn't have a boxville or a postop van so I can't confirm those.

I've confirmed it myself, I had a chrome one (still have it on last gen). The PostOp Boxville, the one from the Pacific Standard job, vanished as soon as the blacklist kicked in.

Oh no, you lost a slippery turd. I only keep my Lost Slamvan around for possible dupe trades in the future. Its not a fun vehicle to drive, unless you're an attention whore.

i would understand them all, but the deludamol rumpo? that thing is the most harmless thing ever excisted.... it even has boxes in the back so there's no ability for players to get in the back of the van and shoot with machine guns..

 

luckily i'm not switching to PC, i can't live without my vans...

Objectively speaking the single best car in the game is the Zentorno...but I don't give a crap. I prefer style over substance. You don't? That's your opinion and that's great. Slamvan and rat-truck/loader are tons of fun to drive. It's a different way of driving and adds variety. Once you figure it out the handling isn't an issue. I have a rat-truck and Slamvan race playlist. It's hilarious watching people who don't know how to drive these things try lol.

 

Also having a friend/crew member sitting in the back ready to pop open the back door and spray his machine gun is a pretty cool feature in a vehicle.

 

Lost Slamvan is probably a future DLC vehicle thus why it became blacklisted.

I really can't help but get this feeling for the vast majority of whiners. I'd like to have more vehicles we could own and all that, but seriously, people act as if it is impossible to enjoy the game with "all" these limitations in place...

The mere purpose of this thread is just to warn users about what to expect regarding future updates on unobtainable personal vehicles ownership.

 

The Lost Slamvan for instance was another prime example of how Rockstar deals with imposed restrictions once again. Yes, it had poor handling and no brakes, but it worked just fine as a mobile cover during shootouts on contact missions (way better than a chrome zentorno for sure), besides being the actual Slam"Van" that was expected to come eventually to GTA V.

 

It even was meant to be unlocked after completing "Series A Funding: Bikers" at some point.

 

What really bothers most users is porting a long demanded car from GTA IV just to be seen on a single mission, where you aren't even enforced to drive it at all.

 

Don't even bother asking R* why a four door armored Kuruma is OK to own and drive online while a two door armored sluggish muscle car is too powerful for online use.

This game has gone so far backwards since release it isn't even funny anymore. They can"t even fix the existing LSC paint jobs let alone add all the paints which are in the game and all the paints as pearls. (is the crew tint working on pc btw?).

 

Anyway how is it they have no time to fix that but they are happy to blacklist a car which they forget to add into heists. Lets not even mention the Marshall incident...

It's pretty much just the Zentorno that I see get flamed a lot. No idea why. Oh, it has that "invincible rear end" or whatever...

I don't own a PC or the vehicles blacklisted on the PC version, but this thread reminds me why I'm playing other games.....they're fun and stuff.

 

Edit: I mean the game in general. Never wanted the blacklisted vehicles.
