motorider420
Seriously. I finally finish installing the game, and get everything configured and set up, and the freakin Benchmark Test falls flat on its face and glitches out!!! Need proof? The problems start about 0:50 into the video. Told ya. Lets hope this isn't a sign of things to come! Intel i7-3930K Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (2) EVGA Superclocked GTX 780 (SLI) 16GB RAM 7.5TB Storage etc etc etc Not my computer's fault, that's for sure. Waiting for the Steam file validation check to complete as I write this... Fingers crossed... And... "All files successfully validated." P.S. The youtube video was uploaded at 11pm CST, so have patience if it still hasn't finished processing the 1080p stream.
Osho
Have some patience! That's what you're lacking, right now. Its a big game. Problems could be at your end as well as the Steam/Rockstars'. There is no doubt that the PC port ( version or whatever you call ) is an absolute ace! Better than IV! Just wait and try to start the game once you're done with all the set-up and such. Also, wrong section. Post it at PC section for the help needed.

blues3531
I'd be with you few commenters if it was bitching about server issues. Yeah that and unlock issues that is expected for a big game on launch. But to have the benchmark tool be completely f*cking broken. That is ridiculous. They had all this time and all these delays and what they didn't test the benchmark at all? The f*ck is that? sh*t didn't used to hit the retail market broken because "we can just patch it"
mobile
They could have at least finished the prolog mission before starting the benchmark, I think that that was the real problem. It is a bug, yeah, but it's not a disaster. Maybe they'll solve this thing forbiding players of using the benchmark while on missions.

True but same thing happened to me. I can't use tab to launch Benchmark on the graphics menu at all. Is it the end of the world? No but itd be nice to have a fix for this. CapitalHitman38
I tried this on my computer with an R9 270x and the benchmark functioned perfectly, Then went on to try this on my computer with a radeon 6870 (starting from the main menu and not from ingame). it started the benchmark and then opened the story mode to franklin then alternated from benchmark to gameplay repeatedly untill i closed the applicaton both computers were past prolouge. That's like asking why you should put oil in your car. (You have to get it wet before you start the engine!)
r0llinlacs
I agree MotoRider420, I want to benchmark it before I play it. I set all settings to maximum and then crossed my fingers and went into the game blind... will I get 5fps or 60fps? It would have been nice to test it first... it went well for me, but I imagine others had graphical problems going into the game blindly without knowing what performance will be like. Scalesdini
You have to finish the prologue AND Franklin & Lamar before running the benchmark test. Otherwise it will fail and likely crash.

Agreed. I had no more issues with the benchmark after I got past the first few missions.
interfreak
One issue I noticed with the benchmark (could be specific to my system though) is that during the benchmark it turned Anisotropic filtering off, and I could not turn it back on in game. Well I could change it back to x16, but in game in remained off. The only way I could fix this was to do a clean install of my graphics driver (GTX 970). dimitrispgr
Its an IV easter egg for the fact that the game runs gloriously even in integrated graphics laptops.

If not, you have got to get it. It has improved tenfold since they released it. It changes all the game settings to work at levels specific to your card. MisterEd
Might sound stupid but where can I find that benchmark thing. I couldnt find it anywhere The benchmark is an option in Settings. Select Graphics and at the bottom you will see an option to run the benchmark.
