u53r
Hi Everyone, Just picked up GTA SA, funny thing is I actually got it when it first came out but just couldn't get into it at the time but now everyone says it's their favorite so I figured I'd go back and see what all the hype is about. I got the Steam version and would like to mod it to make it the best possible experience I can. I know I need to downgrade to 1.0 and then install the silent patch but after that I'm really not sure what to get. I'd like ti improve the graphics as much as possible and make it look properly with a 16:10 aspect ratio at 1920x1200. For graphics I seen the ENB series .248 mod as well as DXT Remastered 1, 2 and 3 mod. No idea which to get, or both, nor which DXT mod is the best one or if they're even different. Can someone please let me know which mods to grab to do this? As well as any other mods that improve the game? Is there a definitive mod pack that does it all in one swoop? Thank you in advance. modeeper
Mods to improve the game .. I wouldn't know where to start, there are hundreds. I started years ago with vehicle speed mods. Its something you can do yourself and it's fun. There are tutorials everywhere. Next was models, mostly women, mostly sexy women. There are GTA download sites that alow nudity. Then I discovered Cleo. You don't need Ver1 to do all this. In some games you'll need to click right on the folder you wist to mod and go to properties .. uncheck read only. All the Vice Cities I've had required this. Now I have an SA that rquires it too. My modding tools are these: Textworkshop, PhotoShop, Paint.net , IMG TOOL, Ped Editor. You might want a trainer too, so you can transport and such. Be sure to turn off your antivirus when downloading anything with an .exe, like trainers, it might trigger a false positive. Gramps
Mod Index I would recommend following mods as a base for the best gaming experience: CLEO (includes ASI Loader) ModLoader (easiest way to install/uninstall mods) Project 2DFX (by ThirteenAG and TGJM) Widescreen Fix(es) (by ThirteenAG and Wesser) SRT or Project RoSa (Global re-texture mods) Other than that, once you have ModLoader installed, you can install/uninstall mods in-game via the menu without much hassle. So its all down to trial and error, depending on your pc specs, and your tastes Happy Modding! Edited April 14, 2015 by Gramps
LockeFP
Prior to now, I was under the impression that SA couldn't be modded if you had the Steam copy. I started looking for workarounds (of which there are several claiming to work) but none of the ones I found seemed to do the job. At least, at first. Finally I just started trying to tweak the settings of handling.cfg and it seemed that one of the number of things I had tried had been successful. CLEO seems to be the only major issue I found with Steam. Although if it works and I'm just dumb I would love to know.
