TheBatdude
Hey guys, small problem. When I try to launch through steam(where I got it), it just wont launch. It shows that it is starting to load, then nothing. I can start other games, just not this one. Any help would be great. Thanks bowbra100
qaisjp
same, the process runs for a few seconds and then just dies. steam even detects it if you press "join game", it'll say "playing gtav" for a few seconds and then disappear. i tried running all the extra installers and doing a local file verification check - no help
Kajjy
Same here, does this have to do with the whole Windows user name bs?
GTA6oclock
Is this what you're seeing?
qaisjp
might do, but all my names are a-z, not even numbers or a dash (PC name and username) @GTA6oclock no, it has loaded completely. Steam says its ready. You press okay when you choose between online/sp and the GTAVLauncher.exe shows up the task list for just three seconds before disappearing. No GUI either Edited April 14, 2015 by qaisjp

Kajjy
Well that's great because the only problem they have identified is the Windows username one. Great.

CrazyLemon
I'm in the same boat as you, guys... I sent a ticket to Rockstar, but i'll doubt they'll have a fix for it any time soon..
Johan
I'm getting this same issue and I got my game through the rockstar website. The launcher opens for a second then crashes instantly. I'm already regretting my purchase If you have Windows 8 and above and 2 or more display adapters (check Device manager > DIsplay adapters, if there's 2 or more then do that following) - Disable your main card from there - Launch the game - As soon as the Social Club signing in screen goes away, quickly enable your card again If done correctly, game will finally launch. Hopefully R* will have a better way to fix it before the end of the week.

CrazyLemon
I just noticed that i don't have the "PlayGTAV.exe"-file in the gamefiles that i've seen Rockstar post about today! And whenever i try to launch the game using the other exe's, i get a warning on my computer to use the PlayGTAV.exe! Have any of you guys noticed if you have that file in the gamefiles? I don't wan't to reinstall this HUGE game.......

Im also getting very frustrated with my launcher as it simply will not launch the game, and if it does, it wont launch properly, resulting in the PlayGTAV.exe message. Have to restart my PC just to play the game once every reboot.

If i'm not mistaken, after you press play, and such, a social club window opens (and i've read many people have had problems with that aswell) and you have to log in. Do you get to that point?
