poland stronk
Have you tried turning the video recording off? In GTA IV it would eat many fps with that. Also try fiddling with draw distance as it might be reason for stutters, popping and fps drop as larger area has to be mantained by the system. Anyway it's day 1, it can only be better with patches and new drivers.

Sleepy Dude
CPU: i5 - 4570 GPU: R9 290 4GB VRAM RAM: 8 GB FPS: 60, 30 fps while high speed driving. Medium settings. I am disappoint Uh oh. Terrible jags with fps drops while driving only. I am installing the new Beta driver now I've got similar specs but I'm using a GTX 970. I installed the new 'GTA V' driver this afternoon, I wonder if that'l make a difference. Still, from Rockstar's recommended spec's list this doesn't look good. Are you playing in 1080p or 4k? be warned. I'm running at 1080p. dont even try ultra. at the nvidia reccomended settings it runs at 30-40 in the city. i turned mine down and get about 60-70, but it still stutters and the screen tears like a bitch. i have the 970 as well. TheGreyWolf
I played the game first with most settings on medium and some high and i got steady 45-60 fps with full HD resolution. Then i almost cranked up everything and the game still runs pretty smooth on 30fps. So i am very happy especially when you compare this with GTA IV launch disaster. My specs are mid tot low range so i cant complain, only at some points the fps gets under 30, but only with everyting high and msaa and v sync on. I got: I7 860 old but stille does the job quite good HD 7950 3gb 8 GB ram Thank you Rockstar! And honestly i think that Rockstar could possibly release patches in the upcoming weeks to improve performance. Because i remember far cry 4, the first weeks it ran like sh*t, also with dying light huge framedrops at the beginning but most/all problems got fixed in the first couple of weeks. Agni
Turns out my GTX 760 can't quite keep full 60FPS in the city...gonna have to turn some stuff down. Man, the textures already look like ass tho >_>
roop182
At the prologue I was excited. I had 144 fps at 2560x1440, but when I got into the game the problems started. I7 4770k oc to 4.5 290x crossfire 4gb 16 gb ram windows 8.1 64 bit On the default settings the Gpus usage is only at 60% with fps drops to the mid 30s and 40s, which makes playing it on the Benq xl2730z horrible. Some setting range between high and very high.

That made me laugh! I hate limits like that. I think I remember back in the day, if you didn't have enough Vram games would use your system ram, but I'm not sure if they do anymore. Krysalis
Turn all your AA down guys, i mean completely off and see how much you'll get then. Who needs AA at 1080p exactly? AA is eating your damn performance, this game is extremely detailed remember that, it has also advanced draw distance even when playing with low draw distance. Same situation. My bottleneck is the exact same GPU. Select the ignore feature in the graphics setting. I am able to get stable FPS on all high, with a mix of the sliders for population, 2x. Using 1.8GB VRAM for that. I was planning to upgrade my GPU way back in January, but well, other things happened. And I am getting a puppy on Friday, so cashing out on a new GPU that's good will have to wait. Maybe around mid-end of May though. EDIT: I could easily go to very high, but I am not that pleased with the sporadic and very minor stuttering that I get. Not something you want happening when doing a mission. Krysalis
Turn all your AA down guys, i mean completely off and see how much you'll get then. Who needs AA at 1080p exactly? PC Users. Its true, game is very detailed, AA is eating the hell out of performance, on Max Payne 3 a mid end PC would get maxed out 60-90 fps 1080p which means all ultra with no any type of AA activated, and when AA was activated it droped to 15 fps. GTA V is a great port, but people need new drivers, and screw around with settings a bit. I just did some research on previous Rockstar's games such as Max Payne 3. Dude with AMD FX 8320, 8GB RAM and GTX 750 Non Ti on 1080p normal settings with a bit of AA has 50-70 fps, just imagine on high settings no AA, probably about the same. x-ReGaL-x
I have a GTX 980 Asus Strix, and with the Geforce experience settings the games still stutters quite a lot. Not that much when driving outside the city. It's weird, cause the game is butter smooth, but then there's just the stutters. Somehow I feel that it can be fixed. Removed my GPU oc, and now it works perfectly
