Trouble understanding people with mic

I don't know if this is the correct forum to post on, if it's not then please inform me.

 

Since the beginning of this game, I've Always been having trouble understanding what other people are saying over the mic (yes their talking english!). The quality of their voice that I recieve is serieusly too bad for me to understand. So it's annoying to fire up my mic, only to find out that I am completely unable to understand what their saying duo to bad voice quality.

 

Does anyone else have this issue? And is it possible to remedy the issue?

Its your mic. mainly with the connection in the wire, which is starting to go bad somewhere (probably at the controller end)

 

You can either:

try to fix it yourself (not recommended unless you know how to properly disassemble and fix it)

chuck the mic at a wall, say a loud expletive, and get a new one (recommended)

 

Usually with lower quality mics, the earpiece is the first thing to go bad, sometimes to the point to which you cannot hear anyone but you can speek and they can hear you

I don't think my mic (official sony ps3 headset) is the culprit

 

I like to add that on some occasions, I meet players whose voice actually is pretty clear while others have bad distorted. Quality.

 

I also like to point out that 75% of the times where I encounter people with distorted voices, I actually have my mic disabled (dont use it that much) and just listen through the TV speakers.

 

This would suggest that it would be on their end or the game's end right?

It could be their mic if its damaged

I have had damaged mics and people could hear me fine though.

 

It could be your or their connection to the game session (if game chat) or party connection (if party chat).

Ive also had times where people sound awful in party chat and fine in game chat and vise versa.

 

 

Its probably one of these if you are consistently hearing them in a distorted voice

 

To see if your mic wire is damaged, find someone with a distorted voice and move the wire around a bit at the base of the controller. If their voice suddenly is normal, then your mic is the issue and id recommend getting a new one soon (it only gets worse from there)

Thanks for replying, my mic is actually a bluetooth mic, so no wires involved.

That would have been good to know earlier

another (possible) issue is the connection of the mic to whatever it connects to. Make sure all batteries are not helladed and that the mic is not 13 miles away from whatever it connects too
