Heists at Level 12, What were R* thinking?

Okay, I've played GTA V for a while now as I'm currently at level 387 (no hacks, no mods). So when Heists were released, R* announced they'd be available from level 12 upwards. That got me thinking about what a level 12 player was actually capable of.

I had a 2nd character which I'd not played with for a LONG time (it was level 8) and decided to delete it and recreate for a few reasons:
1) A friend of mine who is female and plays with a female character constantly tells me about the sexual innappropriateness towards female characters in the game;

2) I wanted to rediscover how "useful" a level 12 character would actually be for heists;

3) As per #1, female friend said how awful the female character clothes were. At over $43M in cash as a male character, I've already bought every single item of clothing available and was curious..... what else do I need so spend cash on?

Firstly,

1) A level 12 player is NOT advisable for any heist due to A) lack of experience, especially if they've never played the game before, AND B) any useful abilities;

2) At such a minimal level they lack health and storable armour amounts to be considered to be practicably useful;

So why are not hesists unlocked at say level 30 or preferably 50+?
3) My second character is in the mid 30's and I still find it restrictive. But it's interesting; I'm plaing the character much smarter than I did the first time I played GTA Online and am doing much better so far.

Secondly,

Why are female players subjected to so much abuse? Who do female players need to have randoms "thrusting upon them - in game" or have other male characters constantly perform the "jerk off motion"? Verbal chat in Public Sessions is so bad it's not worth discussing.

Lastly and least importantly, why are the clothes of GTA online sh!t? Female skirts look like crap. Females can't access "Backwards Caps" Why? There are more "Converse" wannabee shoes for females.......... 99% of Converse shoes are unisexual......... MAKE them unisexual.

To me it seems like they've put in 1001% detail into GTA Online........ but not where it matters.

End of my rant,

Cheers

A

I'm not gonna comment on the Heist part.

About the female clothes, Yes skirts and such things are very restricted. But I don't like skirts so much thus I clothe her in a tank top and wide jeans. For me there is lots of choice even though I don't need it. I kind of went with the tomboy look, which seems to have the most customization. I might be wrong but I think this is because R* has a lot of male employees?

You could have backwards caps earlier on when Online just came out.

Not my pic. Credits go to Wanes.

The converse are Canvas shoes here no? If so I totally agree.

I ran series a with a level 10 without indecent, ok its one of, if not the easiest heist but with good communication it was a breeze, setups on normal H on hard

I think a full team of lvl 12's would be near impossible

As for the female clothing there should be no gender based limits, it should be the same for both if a bloke wants to wear a skirt ok, and vice versa

In regards to the sexism it's unfortunate that you find it so prevalent, its moronic and unacceptable in 2015 but I personally have not encountered it, although as a man obviously I am far less likely to.

I have only really had one or two negative experiences on xbl, and they weren't even that bad, maybe I'm just lucky

I do not accept that this kind of behaviour is somehow to be expected

I can only suggest reporting players and trying to build a friends list of normal, rational players

Feel free to add me if you are on xb1

rank means almost nothing on a second character. the health difference is nothing if you use snacks.

I don't think lv. 12 is too low. I played with low lv. Players and they did a good job and some high lv. who mashed up everything every single time. It depends on your peronality much more than level. You don't need much armour or heavy weapons for the most time. It isn't even a hard game mode. The only problem is the fact, that everythng is meaningless if somebody dies or leaving. But i saw enough high lv. players losing like they are playing GTA V since 2014. You can level up youself without being very skillfull.

If you think 50+, then you're punishing casual players. 50 takes a long time to get to if you don't play that often or goof around in free roam. Plus a lot of players are just starting out on new gen, and a ton more will on PC, it's not fair to have them grind for days, and a lot of people won't.

My 3 friends and I have encountered a 12-20 something or 2 that have outgunned us in our 100s. It's a real relief because my usually mindset is "oh man, 15 min wait for a lvl 12?!?"

Rank =/= Skill or Experience.

I still remember playing a heist with a rank 2 who kicked ass at pretty much everything in the heist. She (it was a female avatar) did better than the higher ranks in my group.

Edit: Would also like to add that anyone can get through a heist if they communicate and listen to teammates. The reason why the majority of randoms on heists fail is not because they suck at the game, but because they don't cooperate and listen to each other.

I boot anyone under lvl 50 from my heists unless they have a mic. if they have a mic i at least give them the chance

Rank doesn't matter, its skill level that matters. A rank 500 could have just hacked that rank. Many high ranks also start from scratch on their second character, so who may be a rank 200 on one character could be a rank 10 on the second character.

Then why does anyone below a lvl 20 generally suck and screw up simple missions 500 times in a row? Because they suck that's why

What makes me laugh is when they will play a Heist on Hard,when it is already very difficult,like the Bank Heist.Fail after Fail,I used so much ammo,total waste of time.This guy could not even hack the safe! Let everyone play,but use common sense and play on Normal or Easy,if you are a beginner.I am always happy to play with anyone,but players should be realistic as Heists are harder than most missions.

I always have random guys thrusting on me, I hate it... I just kill them. As for the clothes I can work them :) My female always looks sick :D Just got to work the clothes that go together, skirts are nice with bustiers and knee high boots and so on.

Level 12..... yet people under that can still join. It's quite ridiculous.

One of my GTA friends INSISTED on bringing his level 6 girlfriend along on the Pacific Bank Finale. I sighed and dealt with it. Picked up my Insurgent after many deaths..... only for when we get to the canyon...... they all jump out as I drive off..... SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT! Fools.... it survives the fall. :miranda:

I told them all that when it loaded the restart, tried to get the Insurgent back but she died again. Eventually I just quit. I'm not blaming her, I blame my friend for wanting a level 6 to tag along on something where a few hits will kill her.

I think rank 25 would be a more fair level

lol you guys haven't been playing with too many randoms huh?

It's almost GUARANTEED. Low level with no mic = waste of my time.

thats all well and good, until the moment you catch yourself in a highspeed chase and the game decides to bullsh*t you

worst case scenario: an enemy car blindsides you, crashing into your car and all the NPCs in the car that just rammed you, with their unfair ability to autolock onto other people in cars, open fire at the same time- which almost seems equivalent to being fired at by a minigun.

^I got minced in the Casco just like that once. Fugitive rammed me head-on in a narrow street and I just melted in under a second.

Yeah you wouldn't imagine how many times I've been kicked from heists using my 2nd character lol. You can't blame them though because they simply can't trust them to complete the mission without dying on hard.

For the newbies (or ranks in general), each heist should have been unlocked at different ranks (12,30,50,75,and 100). So that way it forces players to actually get experience (body armor count, stats, stock up on weapons, etc.) rather than jumping straight into a heist with limited inventory.

funnily enough, it was that exact heist that i was thinking of as i described all that

that same sh*t nearly happened to me recently- would've made me so mad too, since me and a few others are trying to complete the criminal mastermind challenge

Rank means nothing, lots of 2nd characters being ranked up, ck to see if they have aircraft or chopper access, that will tell you its a 2nd character

There are a lot of little kids who play this game and are trying to meet online friends.

My Female and Male characters are equally abused with random apartment invites and friend requests from strangers. I use the grenade launcher so I dont get the horn honking or jerk

There's also a lot of grown ups doing the same for more perverse reasons

yeah that's true but they can be avoided by stopping before they hit and killing them or by not using roads plus spamming snacks

if they get point blank and trap you then good luck at any lvl

i get what you're saying

but at a rank as low as 12, your health still drains a lot quicker than it would at rank 100. basically, you're at a really unfair disadvantage regardless.

I could do heists with my secondary char who is below level 6.....its not the rank but the hand that holds the controller

I only started playing GTAO about a month ago. Never had a problem in heists even at low levels. Not much difference between then and now when I'm level 80.

Why? Because armor is completely useless and I didn't notice any difference even after maxing out my strength, shooting skill or health. I still use the same weapon as primary (special carabine). I still need to use cover and avoid damage just like before. If anything, I'm more jaded since I played everything so many times, I can run into the fire and die more easily then before when I was more careful.

The only difference I noticed is after getting higher driver skill.

Really if you played V SP or IV you really shouldn't have any problems playing heists since level 1.

As for female characters, I play as a female and I think people don't kill me as much as male characters. I also often get Pegasus gifts and people pick me up in cars :lol: Well unless I have a bounty on me when it makes no difference and I just get smoked all the time.

What annoys me about female characters are the clothes. When stupid heist leader get to select the outfit, my character often ends up in high heels which is just completely retarded.

I still stand by my defence of low-level players but having recently been reminded of how bad they can be I'm going to throw some qualifiers into the mix.

I will accept level ones in my heists but you must be able to comprehend the information presented to you and I will only ever assign you support roles. You must also be on comms so that the rest of the team can tell you what to do if you are unsure.

I tried to do Prison Break - Wet Work with a level two yesterday who insisted on running around Dima's mansion in plain view of all the guards. We only failed once because I knew it was coming the second time and managed to intercept Dima on his way to the car.
