Experince with PC near GTA V minimum specifications

Recommended Posts

I am starting this thread for people who install GTA V on a PC with low end specs. For example the some of minimum specs listed are:

Processor: Intel: Core 2 Q6600 Quad @ 2.40GHz | AMD: Phenom 9850 Quad @ 2.5GHz
Video Card: NVIDIA: 9800 GT 1GB | AMD: HD 4870 1GB

One of the computers I am installing GTA V on has the following:

Processor: AMD Phenom II 960T X4 @3.0GHz

Video Card: NVIDIA: GTS 250

This is just a little above the listed minimum specs. I will post how well GTA V works on it. I am interested to see how well it works for other people with PCs that have specs at or below the listed minimum specs.

Remember Rockstar says that these are the lowest specs for a PC they tested GTA V on. That does not mean that GTA V will work not work on a PC with lower specs. It doesn't hurt to try first before one runs out and buys new hardware.

The struggle is real. Good luck bro. I know how it feels.

Best of luck to you guys! I was probably going to be in your same boat but I managed to escape day before yesterday :')

Honestly though, you guys should try to upgrade. How can you enjoy the game at, what I'm assuming is going to be, such low settings? I know you all may have your reasons but this being a game you have waited fro nearly 1.5 years, I think you should try to upgrade!

Regardless, this'll be an interesting topic to read through.

I think they know fairly well that they should upgrade.

Besides playing on my desktop I'll give it a try on my low-end laptop as well:

Intel® Core™ i5-2450M HT 2.7-3.1GHz 3MB cache 35W

‎AMD Radeon™ HD 7470M OC @ 850-900MHz 64-bit GDDR3 1GB (Muxless)

6,00GB (4+2GB dual-channel) DDR3 Samsung PC3-10600 1333 MHz

Hoping for 25-30 FPS in 800x600, lowest settings possible with config file tweaked (might not work in GTAO tho).

Another low-end laptop user...;-;

Intel Core i3-4000M, 2.4GHz

GeForce GT 740M

8GB RAM

1TB SSHD

Just hope I won't have to limit myself to 800x600 on a 16:9 display ;-;

If you have a minimum spec PC I think it will run at 720p, +30 FPS. That 800x600 prediction by some site was bullsh*t.

Intel Core i7 2670QM Sandy Bridge @2.2 GHZ (Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.1 GHZ)
Nvidia GT 525M-1GB DDR3 128-bit
8GB DDR3 Ram

I can run GTA IV with this laptop around 50 fps at 1280x720 medium settings, let's hope GTA V will be playable at least at low 720p!

I'm gonna try run it on a

AMD Athlon X4 760K at 4.3 GHz

4GB DDR3-1600

Radeon HD 6770.

A 5770 (6770 is a rebrand of it) is at least twice as powerful as a 4870, which is minimum. Although I'm betting that R* tested minimum specs on Vista, in which Catalyst is so broken that it needs a 4870 to match a 9800 GT.

A true match for a 9800 GT is an HD 4770, which is very low end by current standards.

I'm fairly confident that my setup will run the game at Medium, considering my 1366x768 screen. At that res basically any GPU above a 750 Ti is an overkill.

Mr.PhillipsLS

Well I have an laptop from 2012 and it has nvidia GT525M, the rest of the specs are fine.

Just the video card it's a bit...weak..or more. Until I get a gaming PC I would really like to see V working with at least 20FPS on my laptop. But I doubt it.

That means I can have hope with my GT 430? O___________O

I even would play it in 640x480 in 20 FPS if thats possible... Dear God Rockstar. Just please have a heart.

Not really low-end though, unless I use it to game on my 1080p plasma. Under 1080p my 6770 really showed its age, although it's quite decent. Far Cry 3 ran at 35 FPS on 1080p with Medium-High settings, while it's 55-60 FPS on 1366x768 using the same settings.

My specs are below in signature section. Also low-end laptop. Expected 10-15fps @ all low settings + resolution 640x480. Wish me luck...

Have some faith on that 7670M. Beats an HD 4600 by a mile and being closer to a GT 740M.
