Not A Nice Person

Hence, revolution.

yeah, it'd be nice if it worked that way.

at present the "population" is still too comfortable...

I always wondered what you mean by that.

You could say this is more or less the standard procedure. Both Clinton and NYT used the same scheme to avoid taxation, although not to that kind of extent

The population is generally much more educated than the elite. Hence, revolution.

Education and revolution really don't have anything in common. While the general population is more educated and has access to a wider array of information than ever before they still tend to bow down to the lowest common denominator, hence why all the populist rhetorics from both candidates still work.

And you got evidence to that statement? Or are just assuming because it must be?

In her tax report it was stated she had around 700k of capital loss, which is effectivly deducting that amount from the overall amount of taxes paid, although only margionally every year, or until a new tax law is passed. While this is pretty unsubstantional compared to Trumps reported billion dollar fraud you could argue she indirectly participated in this by enabling tax cuts on corporations, which she was criticized by Sanders in the whole Panama papers affair, and like Trump is no stranger to the Delaware loophole

it's pretty self-explanatory, innit?

things are a little sh/tty but we're nowhere near revolutionary revolt.

people are too comfortable.

water still runs. lights are still on. cable TV still works.

nobody is ready to pick up a gun [yet] and do what needs to be done.

Needs to be done in a legal and non-violent manner correct?

So Johnson is trying to spin his ignorance of foreign affairs in a positive fashion. But if he can only declare war with countries he can find on the map, that means he will only be able to declare war on the United States!

I don't think he is capable of declaring war. He'd probably try some long range diplomatic approach, which is better than the first option.

What I will say is that I strongly believe that the chaos of a Trump presidency could inadvertently bring in a far more socially progressive leader afterwards. Like it or not, he represents a lot of bottled up hatred, anti-intellectualism and chauvinism - and perhaps the only way to exorcise these demons is to lance the boil and let the pus come rushing out.

Imagine a Republican party finally stripped of men like Trump - the religious fundamentalists, the sexists, the racists, the imperialist war-mongers. It could actually be a legitimate opposition party again. But first, it seems that there are elements within it which have to be purged. And maybe if Trump screws up enough that could happen.

Well, you heard it here first folks, to defeat racism vote Trump.

Looking to see what Pence has to say tonight, only conservative left standing in this nutty campaign. Might have a couple of suprises too.

It's a perfectly logical idea.

What a proposterous idea! Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore and Cleveland are just a few shining examples of the many once-downtrodden cities that have since seen economic and social progress like never before thanks to their progressive leaders. Clearly we should continue with the status quo if we are to ever defeat racism.

I'm interested in seeing how Pence holds up in a debate. He's a great speaker from what I've seen so far.

As a speaker, he reminds me of Reagan. A very good communicator.

Which has more to do with the fact that those cities make up a f*cking rust belt. These cities are designed to be industrial centres and are structured as such. The outsourcing of jobs and the attack on the state's ability to fund itself generally have left these cities unequipped to deal with the massive population. Basically: when you have hundreds of thousands or millions of people clumped together in a city, they have to be doing something to sustain the cost of infrastructure for that many people living together without any farms or w/e. Previously the factories sorted this.

Michigan has been hit so hard that people were drinking tap water pumped straight from the lake. The state hasn't half collapsed because of Obamunism, in fact these 'progressive' leaders are pretty typical Western politicians. The South and the Midwest have also been smashed by neoliberal policy(some states under Republican governors have recently gone from surplus to billion dollar deficits without any increase in services) , but their population is less centralised so it's easier to keep the traffic lights on, and instead of huge paramilitary drug syndicates, you just get a lot of guys cooking meth.

It's a psychological tactic to subconsciously attract the opposite party.

I already know that lol. I predicted that Hillary was was going to wear red and Trump wearing a royal blue tie. This is one of the first times I've seen Pence in action. The debate was pretty nice! Can't wait for Super debate Sunday ;)

While Pence remained calm, collected, and composed, I swear I thought Kaine wanted to jump across the table at one point.

Overall, it was a great debate. For the most part, it stayed on the issues. Far better than the Trump v Clinton first presidential debate.

Yeah, Kaine didn't do a very good job of keeping his composure when Pence touched on some of the more negative aspects of Hillary's past. You could really see the anger in his eyes at certain points in the debate, especially when Pence started going on about Kaine being a pro-life Catholic (contrary to Clinton).

Pence's biggest hindrance was probably his inability to defend certain comments of Trump's (even admitting at one point that Donald isn't a "polished politican" like Clinton and Kaine). Kaine made some pretty absurd claims throughout the debate, with the one about Trump admiring Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un and two other dictators (don't remember who) taking the cake.

Taking the above into consideration, it was still a pretty decent debate, and about what I had expected. The moderator was pretty good as well, although she could've been a bit more aggressive when it came to moving onto the next subject.

Pence, whilst better stylistically, to me came across more as though he was there for himself as opposed to being there as Trump's running mate. In fact Pence, aside from shaking his head and denying things trump clearly said, didn't really refute any of the numerous Trump-soundbites Kaine recited. An exercise that being fair to Pence, is a fool's errand on a good day. Overall, I'd say Pence did a better job of keeping a cool head. But Kaine did a better job of defending Hillary and their platform, then Pence did of defending Trump- and that arguably is what the job of the VP candidate is supposed to be during a Vice Presidential debate, especially in this election.

"Putin has been a stronger leader" says Mike Pence.

And it's not like Trump hasn't praised Putin over Obama in the past.

Oh wait. Yeah he did.

Absurd indeed.

I mean, if you're going to support Trump, at least know your candidate.

happy to say I didn't watch a moment of this debate.

there was nothing new to learn from these VPs tonight. one of them is wearing a God Hates Fags tshirt underneath his jacket, the other has a charming little harmonica in his pocket, and both of them could be my stupendously boring stepfather.

Pence is real good at debating. But he couldn't defend the things Trump has been saying, which Kaine kept egging him on. Still, why is this man not running for President...

Also, more talks about Trumps taxes. Telling us what he's been paying. But they all miss the point. HE HASN'T RELEASED HIS TAX RETURNS TO BACK THOSE CLAIMS UP.

In all fairness Trump basically admitted he hadn't paid tax since his billion dollar write-off during the first debate when he muttered "because I'm smart" under his breath to that very allegation.

Oh wait. Yeah he did.

Trump stating that Putin has made a better leader for Russia than Obama has for the US isn't him praising or admiring Putin. I shouldn't even have to explain how blatantly obvious it is that what Trump said is just one of the many different ways he has called Obama incompetent. Not to mention, Pence talked poorly of Putin several times last night, calling him a small bully, saying the American political system is "superior to the crony, corrupt, capitalist system in Russia in every way"... In addition to Putin, Kaine also claimed Trump loves Kim Jong-un, Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi, claims that have absolutely no basis on reality whatsoever.

You folks are grasping at straws here.

Without the "religious fundamentalists, the sexists, the racists, the imperialist war-mongers" the right wing in general would stop existing completely. It would probably cause a new state of society where we all come together to enjoy love and peace, and live in harmony with nature again.
