Why must characters tumble down hillsides like retards?

Did they forget to tie their shoes? Or do they just love to eat dirt? Same applies for traveling uphill.

I don't think there is any reason. Other games seem to do fine keeping you from climbing steep hills without making you turn into a ragdoll.

Find a hill that steep in real life.... then walk down it.

I don't think he's referring to not being able to walk down but rather the fact the characters don't try to stop themselves as they role down

And if you fall, you'll still try to grab a hold and not turn insta-unconscious unless you hit your head.

yeah pretty much this, they just go with the roll until they're dead or come to a stop

I agree. When I slipped in real life a few years ago (icy), my hand grabbed a nearby bush. Dirtied my hand and pants...right before a job interview. Still wonder why I never got that job.

It's worse when you have an audience... or when trying to avoid a bounty.

Not only did I fail spectacularly at evasion, I looked like a fool while I was doing it.

I died in a Hiest this way once.

It is indeed very unnatural.

Character will start doing faceplant and slide down like corpse instead of using their butt to slide down the hill first before losing control and rolling over.

I like the ragdoll animation. Gets me every time. What I hate is to get stranded halfway down the mountain.

I think it's funny..... until your character starts rolling down and dies.....

It can be funny at times, but bloody annoying at others.

Its the same as the "fall off the high place" animation where your character's head appears to weigh 3x the rest of their body and instantly flops onto it first.

good thing that its not as bad as in Storymode. i do hate it. i do hate the look of it.

"oh i stumbled, lets just relax all muscles and give up before i even hit the floor"

BUT its also a punishment for not dealing with your enviroment correctly and makes a fluent runaway through rough terrain more challenging. it adds variety to on-foot chases.

I do miss the swan dive from single player though, doing that into a bunch of NPCs is quality

Simple answer:

To make us laugh uncontrollably because it looks so funny

So only mentally challenged people can't walk up or down hills without falling? Good job OP.

Do you know OP in all my life I've never seen a retard tumbling down a hill. What do they look like? Are they funny? Is it only retards that tumble downhill btw?

OT: Is there not an option on NG to turn off ragdolling? I've never had a issue with going uphill or downhill on GTAO, then again I don't class myself as retarded. Well mostly not.

Edit: Really should read thread first. Chloroform beat me too it lol

As I said above, it's as if their head is heavier than the rest of their body.

"Uh oh, this falls gonna hurt, I'll cushion my landing with my face!"
