hvcciookay
CARSPOTTING "The Game" Carspotting "The Game" revolves around players searching via Google Maps street view for any exotic, rare, or valuable vehicles in a pre-picked area. RULES: Only Cars, Trucks, and Vans, and Motorcycles. No Trailers, trains, planes, bi-cycles, tri-cycles, jetpacks. Once a car is spotted/posted, it is considered "taken/dead/no longer exists" and no one else can "spot" it. You may post as many spots as you want! FORMAT: Players will post their spots with a hyperlink like this so we know what car it is and what to look for SO RARE! BASED SHADOW 420. Every Monday, a new area will be posted on page 1. Players have a week to scour every garage and best view into people's backyard's to find automotive gems! Sunday at 12am CST, that week officially ends and points are tallied up. Spots deemed amazing will be posted in the "Spot of Fame" There will be no major cities used. The area will be confined only small towns. Argonaut
I think this is a great idea and can't wait to see what we can find out and about places we wouldn't expect to find rare vehicles in.

Murciélago
Why would we spot in google maps if we can spot in real life? Flachbau
Flachbau
Agreed with both posts above.. wont hurt to at least try, though. Can't wait to see what area is selected.
hvcciookay
Sorry for the delay, Neverwinter got the best of me First up is Alamogordo,NM. Nearby AFB should hopefully pull some classic american he's worth some cheddar! Edit: @Kifflom that wouldn't be fair now would it. @Android I tried explaining everything as best I could, especially with the points system, so I included an example. M22
okay i'm a little confused, so with the one point variable, does the car have to be in the production number of 1001-10,000 or is that just a selection. eg, a BMW 5 series 50k MSRP , does that count or does it have to be a 5 series with say a colour laguna seca blue to be eligible? It's whichever it would apply to. It's basically for common cars with uncommon colors or low production "normal" cars like the Sportcross or Vehicross from Izuzu. I've taken out the last rule in regards to exotics and luxury cars not eligible for both color and msrp / auction points as well. xolov
Does the Jeep CJ count? it is not a every day ride
Murciélago
Why wouldn't it be fair?
hvcciookay
Why wouldn't it be fair? Not everyone lives in a lavish city like yours. Come on dude, no disrespect, but that's ridiculous haha. @The jeep guy: Follow the posting rules and if that's your entry then research of that color and CJ and post the appropriate links. TheMcSame
The concept is good but I really doubt people are going to go to the trouble of finding a 'rare' car in some area and then do research on production numbers and whatever else just for the sake of a forum game. It would be better if we just look for uncommon cars that you don't see too often in random areas or something.
hvcciookay
Yeah, it did take me close to 20 minutes to find the data I needed for the example. I'll probably remake it without points and all that jazz. Basically who spots the most cars wins all while keeping the dead car rule.

hvcciookay
NICE! A Merkur. I had a neighbor who had a black one. I'm going to extend this until the end of this week and pick a new place afterwards. The rules have been edited. Pavle
