Daily Objectives: tips and tricks

Agree, at the moment I am just logging in for my daily duties, get them done, maybe do up a car or two, quick mission then onto something

else.

 

Other games are just far more enjoyable and do not seem to be hit by cheating/exploits like GTA Online has become, that said I really should finish

story mode a second time.

^^ These issues with Daily Objectives are just indicators of much bigger problems with GTA Online. The unresolved list of bugs and borked gameplay, not to mention the ongoing cheating that's now arguably a pandemic is why I barely played more than an hour last night; and it's not just me; out of well over a hundred friends, only a handful were online as well.

 

Until R* gets serious about it (which I doubt is ever going to happen given their track record), GTA Online is going to continue tanking big time over the long-term. Most people are now playing Fallout 4 or other games anyway, because Online offers very little in the way of new game play variety.

 

No amount of "cool new" 3D object DLCs or R*'s short-lived banwaves are going to change that.

Disagree.

 

Cheaters are only prevalent on PC really, fewer and fewer people are on last gen and its pretty clear that R* don't really want to sup port it any more, which is fair enough.

 

All software has bugs, Apple even managed to screw up their alarm clock a couple of years ago. That's not difficult stuff!

 

Is not like other games are bug free either, look at all the issues people found with fallout or AC:Unity for example.

Every update has a shed load of bug fixes in. I've had a few missions fail for 7 known reasons or had the corona at my garage disappear once or twice, but nothing serious.

 

Gta has average of 8m people logging in a week, that's pretty healthy for a 2 year old game.

 

Back on topic: steal a vehicle from the military base. For whatever reason I'm not able to get in, to a jet and out again before they kill me, have no idea why what I found is that you can jump in next to the tunnel under the fort, go left , the is a small car park that always have vehicles in it, just jump in one - this will complete the objective. You won't drive out and will get killed but it's an easy/quick way to complete it.

Good for a game in general, yes, but with roughly only 1 in 4 (24%) of the 33+ million potential players, not as encouraging for the long run of GTA Online.

 

Anywho: It really comes down to personal preference; there are multiple options for whatever you choose, but I've made a note of the bug tails has encountered. I'll see if I can duplicate it on the PC (I usually do a hybrid of what kringled does: fly in with a Pegasus Buzzard using Lester's "Cops Turn a Blind Eye").

Yesterday I got the objective "kill a revealed player" so I had to use the lester's ability. Unfortunatelly I was rank 32 while this ability is unlocked at rank 40. As a result I've losed my 28 days progress. I sent a ticket to rockstar support where I've explained my problem. They replyed me that they cant do nothing. So what's the point now? I mean, how can I trust of doing this objectives if another day this problem already shows up? So I thought that that objective was achieveable. So my answer is: Is possible of doing that objective under level 40 or rockstar have to fix these daily objectives in order to prevent these non-completable objectives to show up?

I swear Im not doing grammatical errors because im Italian and I know english only because of the school.

FYI, there's a DO where you need to call a mugger (unlocked at rank 50). I had this come up on my rank 38 character and it screwed me over

^^ It's noted in the DO list; I trust I've identified all the ones that require a specific rank to complete--three so far, listed below--but if not, please let me know!

 

Call a Mugger on another player - [Requires rank 50 to complete]

Kill a player while Off the Radar - [Requires rank 40 to complete]

Kill a revealed player - [Requires rank 40 to complete]

 

Also:

 

* Changed "level" to "rank" (pertaining to character advancement; not wanted stars) to match the terminology R* actually uses in-game.

 

* Updated some note text, and added a note that both the "Participate in One on One Deathmatch" and "Participate in an Impromptu Race" objectives have apparently been removed at least as of the GTA Online: Lowriders update for the PS4, XBox One, and PC platforms.

 

As always, if anyone spots something in the DO list that needs adding or correcting, please let me know! My goal is to be accurate and helpful.

Just a quick one, had to do a team deathmatch this weekend, joined one that had the minimum number of players, host started it and we got to the screen that shows your team, at this point someone quit, which kicked the rest of us out too as we were now under the minimum number of players.

When I landed bank in free roam it said objective complete, so didn't even have to actually play the DM.

 

I wonder if this will happen for other objectives too? Rally race maybe?

^^ It's possible; I know the same happens for LTS and Versus Missions, etc.; once the game starts, and someone else quits, the objective is considered completed.

 

I'm thankful for that, because it wasn't always that way; and could take a long time if you ran into multiple quitting players...

that's only partly right.

as i already wrote some posts earlier normal deathmatches and teamdeathmatches can be left by you during the starting ("betting") screen and it counts for the do.

(you don't even get bad sports points for doing it because it hasn't really started by that time).

Get a Bounty

you don't have to actually play them (dm or tdm).

it already counts for the objective if you join a lobby and wait until the "betting screen" where you can buy armor and have to get ready (but don't).

instead of getting ready you can just leave by pressing circle (on ps).

 

it doesn't work like this for all of the other modes like captures, lts, vs., etc. because somebody else (or all of the others) have to leave in these modes to count for the do.

as far as i know the only modes are dms and tdms which can be left by yourself during the starting screen and it still counts for the do's.

 

 

by the way,

my most hated objective is the normal dm now because it has gotten very hard to find one most of the times.

most people play only team dms and only a very few play a normal dm nowadays.

last night i tried more than one hour to find a normal dm by joining quick jobs (from the start menu) before i gave up on it and had to interrupt my progress because of that god damn objective!

^^ Yeah, they can be a bear. R* _really_ needs to create and allow a means of specifying exact types of Captures, Death Matches, Races, etc. for Quick Jobs and On-Call. That would save a lot of headache and wasted time for players across the board who e.g. need a Capture - Hold for their Daily Objective, but end up in a Capture - GTA.

 

Sorry you lost your progress; that's one reason why I never feel bad when a script kiddie dumps money bags on me.

I don't disagree here, just recounting my experiences, I have only ever gotten the racing ones by actually completing the races, good on you if you have got it without doing

Does anyone know if Bull Shark Testosterone spawns in Death Matches before rank 17 when it officially unlocks for the player?

 

Not a huge deal, but seeing as it requires rank 17 to call Brucie and use it, if it doesn't spawn in a Death Match, ranks 15 through 16 would be dicey if given the "Use Bull Shark Testosterone" objective--unless you had a friend call Brucie for you, and you picked it up.

I don't know about the BST.
I did want to share, though, that I tried the "steal a vehicle from the military base" during two separate contact missions today; neither time did it check off. It may be doable during other contact missions or other jobs where one can enter Zancudo, but I don't have any tools to tell what jobs might or might not work.

 

The missions I tested were "Blow Up III" (as it completely suppresses wanted levels) and "Base Invaders" (since the objective is to explicitly steal the cargobob from the base). To the best of my memory, "Docks & Stocks" and "Extradition" are the only other missions that explicitly require going into Ft. Zancudo.

Is there a ps4 crew for doing DO's? Is really annoying waiting long times for capture game mode objectives. Even when I finally get a mate he quits because Im rank 148. Why people got scared of high ranked players? I mean, I'm not a monster, I've only played GTAO since launch.

I've had this rally race for a while, which I usually use to complete my rally race objective. It is set to max 2 players, so you can start it as soon as it fills, and don't have to kick the odd man out. It takes about 40 seconds to run the actual race.

Second time, tried doing a "lose x star wanted level" objective in a contact mission. This time, 3 star, mission was Editor and Thief (so inherently need to lose stars). Didn't work. (And the mission was the first thing I did after loading into a solo invite session and getting the objectives for the day. Didn't work in freeroam after either until I reloaded into online, so it's hard to be sure.

A crew member had 'lose a 2 star wanted level' yesterday, which he did twice, didn't register. Someone suggested he try getting a 3 star level and losing that, worked right away.

@ Crafty: Same here; had a two-star last night but it failed until I got (and lost) a four-star level...go figure. R* knows when we fly under a bridge, but they can't tell when we lose two stars? lol

I've definitely lost wanted levels in contact missions before and it has counted towards my objectives but then on other occasions it hasn't so it seems to be hit and miss or maybe it did count at one point and now Rockstar have changed it so that it doesn't. I think the mission I've used in the past to get the three star one done was Hack and Dash. Editor and Thief is only a 2 star wanted level and not a 3 so perhaps that is why it didn't work in Kringled's case unless he/she antagonised the cops more to turn it into a 3 star level.

^^ I tried losing my two-star wanted level last night in Blow Up III (to test the theory and also finish a "Complete a Contact Mission" objective at the same time); that is, before I remembered that wanted levels are apparently disabled in Blow Up III. Argh. lol

i do it just the same way with escaping into the subway tunnels.

always when i get this objective i do it for the first thing after entering the session.

this way it works everytime because the cache is still empty.

if you do other things in game before doing this objective it might fail because the cache is partly filled with other things and will likely bug out on this one.

^^ Interesting point about the cache; it sounds a bit like (as others have noted) getting a network error on login that often causes DO refreshes to fail (had this one last night--freezing my current char's objectives):

I know you can just use the launch pad, and login to an Invite-Only session to avoid it, but I just prefer going directly from double-click of game to GTA Online (esp. since it take so freaking long to load anyway--even on a fully SSD-based system and a 30Mb/s down Internet connection).

 

What R* really needs to do is provide an option to go straight from desktop double-click to an Invite-Only session; then, if you want to, you can join a public session from there. That would be very helpful!

Well so the day of the update gets closer and I cringe to see if anything else is broken or be surprised if daily objectives get fixed with the update.

 

So mad I lost out on the 500k on one of my characters due to the recent troubles, starting to play again tomorrow so I hope this time I can complete

both characters daily objectives without reset.

 

Also praying they don't add any new ones that require other players to achieve.

^^ Yeah, my sentiments exactly; I'm not holding my breath for any bug fixes...would rather be pleasantly surprised.

 

BTW, just recently learned that you can drive around the back of the LSPD police station right into the lot itself (near the Grapeseed hospital) and retrieve any impounded cars.

 

It gives you an instant two-star wanted level as you get closer (handy for the "Escape a 2 star wanted level" objective), and saves you from having to climb over the fence.

 

Don't know why it took me so long to stumble onto that. :)

So I think this should be mentioned here but yesterday's update added a new option in GTA Online menu under Options.

 

You can now select jobs and the options are All, Rockstar Created Content and User Created Content options.

 

If you set this to only Rockstar jobs when you use "On Call" and "Quick Job" it will only look at R* jobs, sometimes you may be put

in as host in empty lobby but will join a job lobby already having players, this should save some time for doing Captures and Deathmatch

related Daily Duties if playing solo.

It is a very welcome (and long overdue) addition--but there's no way to easily "exit" once you get in (kind of like no "cancel" in a dialog box).

 

What they still need to do is add a means of specifying which type of Capture you need/want to play. If I need to complete a Capture - Hold, I don't want to play a Capture - Raid followed by a Capture - Contend while I sit there hoping for a Capture - Hold.

I am sure that will come, I think this is the beginning of the test before introducing more lobby specific options in future updates.
