These don't exist anymore. There's assisted full, assisted partial, free assisted and free

Unless old gen is still that way

However back in the ol days traditional gta allowed swiping between locks with the right thumbstick.

I think Traditional is basically a hard lock.

And Assisted is a soft lock.

I always use Assisted Aim and suddenly I can't move my target dot away, then I found it was on Traditional.

AFAIK
Traditional means you can tap left or right on the stick to jump to next target and full auto.
Assisted means it snaps to the target but thats it. If the target is moving you have to manually compensate.

traditional GTA :

+

it's a " super " auto aim , it locks almost any person and changes targets from one to another person which useful to " sweep " large group of enemies

-

player may aim an unintended target and as long as there's person ( unless auto-aim was only for strangers or attackers ) , player cannot use free aim

assisted aiming :

+

hybrid auto-aim and free aim , it lock a person and temporary to free aim if player aim the locked target away

-

player can only auto-aim one person at time

That's interesting, guess gonna stick to Assisted Aiming.

GTA has always been assisted aiming. I don't get why there's all these people complaining because they like free aim and call us 'noobs'...

also be advised , the " auto-aim " priority also affect for melee or even firearm melee , rendering impossible for accidental friendly bashing but simply cause them flinch
