Hi Guys, check out my project please. Its a serie of 3 episodes (6 minutes per episode). I've put months of work in it and hope you would take the time to check them out. It's a story about two brothers who run the vicious streets of Los Santos...

It´s not my first movie, I made a few videos in this weekly competition, but this is my biggest project so far.

Hope you enjoy and please comment.

Thanks a lot.

This was my first Machinima in GTA V, i've made a similar police chasing video in San Andreas years ago that was called Run, this is something like that, very random, and had a lot of mistakes, I wasnt very experienced in V at that time, and it was mostly made without any mods (only used a simple trainer for godmode)

Title: Run 2

Platform: PC

Description: A crazy punk driver doing bad things

This is a documentary. There's text but I attempted to make the text funny to compensate for the reading. I also tried to make the camera move like it's a camera man following the women around.

Title: Womens Law

Platform: PS4

Description: The women in San Andreas have taken over and implemented womens law. These new laws only apply to men, are very unfair and breaking them means the death penalty.

Got a quick question for you all...not sure if anyone has experienced something similar.

I'm having a problem using a bit of footage from the Rockstar Editor in Premiere Pro. For some reason....a segment recorded in a specific location (just a small place outside along the coastline) keeps making my Premiere Pro freeze up. I tried exporting the footage multiple times from the editor.....just that segment alone, and as part of the whole video at once......Always when I try to edit those...30 seconds in Premiere Pro....it freezes up. For every single export.....really strange. It's as if every single export does something to the videofile it creates, that makes Premiere Pro go all haywire in that moment.

Edit: Workaround for me is to import and export that segment in windows movie maker.....it does not seem to freeze up after that in Premiere Pro......really strange thing though. Still gonna try to figure out what exactly causes this

Premiere Pro or any editor will freeze if it gets an unsupported or wonky file exported into it. Seems strange that you were able to use these exports from the Editor in the past but now its giving you issues. Could be just a once off issue where the Editor exporting process was a but faulty.

Your workaround is the only option if this continues I think. Converting it to a slightly different file type usually works for me anyway.

Well the thing is...for the complete video I'm editing, I have exported a total of 4 videos, since I seperated it in to 4 chunks. It's only 1 specific part, within 1 specific chunk, that makes it freeze. I was able to cut, trim and play the first minute of said chunk/video file just fine. The last 2 minutes, no problem either. But the 30 seconds between the first minute and the last 2 minutes, within the same video file is what causes the freeze. And the same thing happens when exporting the whole video, or that portion of it again & again. It's just so very specific and weird....that I almost feel like something visual in those 30 seconds.....maybe a specific color with that intensity is causing the problem...I really don't know. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

I'd understand it if the entire videofile for some reason got corrupted or was not readable by PP....but it really is only 30 seconds within a videofile that causes the freeze when trying to play it.

That really is weird. If it was the end of the clip it may mean the clip wasn't exported entirely or something but I doubt it.

Did you try exporting just that very specifc section from Rockstar Editor again? Maybe trimming that clip and putting it in a new R* Editor project too would be a good idea - so save that chunk (1/4) to a new project version, delete the rest of the clips except that coastline section. Export.

It does sound like some corrupt part of the MP4 render from the R* Editor, but Premiere can be very funny about MP4. It's not really designed to edit source MP4 material, even though most will choose to.

I have had issues bringing in MP4s before where the screen remains green. Did your export have an audio track, or audio playing in that section?

I would try and set up a new adobe project / sequence, with just that trimmed section, and see if it crashes then. If not, you could try and nest that sequence within your main Adobe sequence project.

Do you have Adobe suite? - After Effects, Adobe Media Encoder? Always worth seeing how that treats the same file?

Also worth doing, go into your folder where your saved premiere file is, and delete the Adobe previews folder. When you re-open the project file, it should reinterpret the source material for preview. This would be what I would try first, but back everything up outside of your working project folder too.

You're not keeping GTA V open while you edit too are you? I tried that once and got low memory warnings from Windows.

There is an option in Premiere to set rendering and previews to software only, or hardware accelerated (uses graphics card cores). This is nearly always a recommended troubleshooting method for all sorts of issues. I think it is in preferences.

Nucky I have a question for you, were you the guy who had the issue awhile back with someone stealing your videos ??? Did you have any luck stopping that person ??

I currently have 2 users (first and second) who have stolen about 100+ of my videos and they've posted them on their channels. I reported 3 of the videos as stolen uploads on one of those accounts. I'm wondering did you do the same and did you have any luck ???

Ouch that sucks. But yes, I used that report function on youtube, where you have to link your own video, and the stolen version. You can add in multiple links as well when multiple videos have been stolen. Although, I believe......each video counts as 1 strike, and 3 strikes until an account is shutdown or so. But yes, from the top of my head, I think I reported it late on a friday night, and the monday following that weekend I got email from youtube that the stolen videos were taken down. So you'll probably hear back from youtube within a couple of days ;)

Yes I did try to export both the whole video, as well as that individual segment (it's about 3-4 clips recorded at the same location). It's always that same bit that screws up in PP. I tried new projects, importing it again in the same project.....different project settings. I can't help but take the conclusion that for some reason.....exporting the footage recorded at that time in mp4 format does something it usually does not do....It probably is the weirdest thing I have ever experienced :p I can view all those files just fine in VLC media player, Windows Movie Maker doesn't have a problem with it.....

And nope, GTA 5 isn't running. In fact, I rebooted both my pc & PP several times, hoping that would fix it. Had GTA 5 re-render the footage several times, while shutting down GTA 5 in between tries to make sure that wasn't it either. It's also footage I recorded a while ago, so plenty of footage recorded after that which didn't cause any problems.

Strange!

Is GPU acceleration enabled or disabled? I think this is in your project / sequence settings, or in File - Preferences somewhere. It might also be in render options for the codec options. Try that.

Is your RE export 60fps or 30fps? You tried both options?

What video card are you using? Is it worth using NVIDIA shadowplay to record just that bit? Or is the scene too intensive that you need the Rockstar Editor to ensure a stable fps. You shouldn't really get a fps drop unless its an intensive scene.

Do you have adobe media encoder and After Effects?

Also, weird suggestion but add the crop effect to the clip but leave properties at default so nothing is cropped. Wondering whether the issue is to do with colour handling or even audio related. Premiere can be funny about handling MP4 with audio track problems or not even reading the audio track.

Have you tried updating quicktime and your codecs installed on your PC?

I know it's a huge PITA to troubleshoot these things, but if this is one random exception and you are in a rush, I would capture that scene with a 3rd party recorder. I wouldn't really convert it with Movie Maker unless it is a lossless format, as each rendering process could degrade the footage further.

@FFP, sorry to hear that. It even has your intro on it. I imagine YouTube will take it down from them pretty sharpish.

I already have been able to use the footage I needed ;) Workaround was to just import that bit of footage in Windows Movie Maker, export it to avi, and import that bit as avi in PP again. I didn't really notice any quality loss, not that it would have mattered as much in this case, since I was gonna add some slight effects to it to "ruin" the image quality on purpose anyway.

Yesss! Time to finally join in on the competition again! Been too long!

TITLE: Outside by George Michael - GTA 5 Remake for the music video

PLATFORM: PC

DESCRIPTION: A remake of the music video for the song "Outside" by George Michael. It features a police helicopter scanning the city for people involved in lewd conduct. But does the police not like a bit of kinky stuff themselves? :O I tried to stay as close to the original music video as possible, but some slight changes had to be made for it to work in GTA. Still, pretty happy with how similar it turned out to be. Link to the original clip is in the videodescription on youtube. (note that the original starts with about 30 seconds of a fake porn movie intro, which I did not include in my version).

I'm stilling working on my entry. Im about half way through the audio, and I'd say I'll be working on it all the way up until the cut off date.

If everyone else wants to end the round thats fine. I'm sure I'll find another round to enter it in.

No its fine, I'll keep it to the original deadline (July 31st) dude, I was just wondering if others were still working on videos. I'm sure they'll be others entering in the next 2 weeks anyway. Looking forward to your video, should be interesting.
