mr quick
1) GTA IV - I think this ties with no. 2 2) GTA: San Andreas - I was the only one in my neighborhood who had this game. I'd get up at 5 to play it. I used to have multiple people over at a time, who would just gaze as I played. 3) Minecraft - Talk about game changer. 4) Max Payne 3 - What a visually stunning game. It was pretty much perfect. 5) Counter Strike: Source - This game introduced me to gaming. 6) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Don't judge me. My friends and I spent countless summer nights gathered in my loft, downing energy drinks and playing until morning. Again, the context makes the game better for me. 7) Battlefield 3 - The same as Modern Warfare 2, only more serious. These two are pretty much tied as well. 8) LittleBigPlanet - Another game changer, with a throwback multiplayer feature. The aforementioned friends and I could spend countless hours playing this flawlessly innocent game. 9) GTA V - C'mon, it's pretty good despite the story's flaws. 10) Far Cry 3 - Also a different game with fantastic gameplay. How f*cking cool is it to combine moves? This is my estimation as of now. Guest
1: GTA IV - Don't even need to explain why 2: Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Open world, insane customisation, fun multiplayer, and had a lot of details that the NFS games missed out. Pedestrians, cockpit view, more detailed multiplayer. Great game, right up there with GTA4 3: Gran Turismo 6 - I'll probably get moaned at because "hur dur GT3 and 4 were better" but really GT6 has pretty much everything from the old games. I love GT6 because there's more modification than the older games, the standards are higher quality, I've spent hours in photo mode and drift lobbies. It's a really fun game, and it sucks it didn't sell well, and even then the devs aren't trying to suck money out of it like every other dev ever. They're still adding new cars and features and not charging for them. 4: Need For Speed: ProStreet - Again, people probably scream "hur dur it's not Underground" but the customisation and the story mode is really fun to go through. The car designs for other cars and the whole feel of the game is top notch. It's basically Underground but with better customisation, graphics and multiplayer. Sure there's no open world, but Underground didn't have one either, and in the games that did have open worlds, who really used it? 5: Burnout Paradise - Played this game so much. I could go into freeburn and there would always be something new to do. Getting an 8 player freeburn and doing a challenge together was great. 6: Gran Turismo 4 - It had a few things 5 and 6 missed out, and for PS2 it looks and plays amazingly. Any other PS2 games that look as good and run at 1080i 60fps? 7: Midnight Club 3 - Really fun racing, very fast paced. The car list was awesome, had pretty much everything. SUVs, tuners, muscle, lowriders, exotics. Really really good city design, lots of jumps, alleyways and buildings to go through. And it actually used the open world. 8: Need For Speed: Carbon - Pretty much Most Wanted but with more race variety and better customisation 9: Need For Speed: Most Wanted (05) - Don't even need to explain this one. 10: Fallout 3 - It's buggy, it's broken, it looks awful, the animations suck, the gunplay sucks, and the map is copy and pasted. Awful voice acting and story telling. I don't know why I love it so much. There's too many to list so I'm going to carry on 11: LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2 12: Midnight Club II 13: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 14: Saints Row 2 15: Fallout: New Vegas Edited April 12, 2015 by Guest

Platypus Chairlines
I know it's ''Top 10'', but yeah, because of more than half of my gaming life went to GTA SA, I can barely write 5 games here. I've been playing PES series since 2006, most of them are developed with minor/major changes but it doesn't make sense to add them here. Because those changes only made the game more realistic & wider (wider = more game modes to play). So, each of their place in my gaming history is pretty much same. 1. GTA San Andreas - The Legend. Every single detail and almost every quote is still in my mind. Unforgettable game with great storyline. 2. Need For Speed: Carbon - Like San Andreas, this game has a lot of memories. Beating Darius was a real pain at the time, though. Also Canyon Duels were awesome. 3. PES 2009 (this one has great memories, old but gold) 4. Neighbours From Hell - Funny game. Watching this old ugly guy walking easily to traps makes me laugh all the time 5. RogerWho
It's interesting and nice to see NFS MW 2005 mentioned so many times. This and Porsche Unleashed are my favorite NFS games. Yet when I talk to other people about them they all go "huh all the NFS games are the same, just play the latest one".

HaythamKenway
Now, I think it's pretty much impossible to make any concrete list. Personal taste can change all the time, so rather than any "end-all-be-all" top 10 list, this is just a bunch of games from the top of my head that I remember with special fondness, for one reason or another. In alphabetical order. Assassin's Creed Revelations Fallout: New Vegas Grand Theft Auto IV Halo 3 L.A. Noire Mafia Mass Effect 2 Pokémon Silver Star Wars Battlefront II Team Fortress 2 Damn. That's without mentioning other games in the GTA and AC series that I love (San Andreas, LCS and VCS/AC IV and III), Saints Row 2, MGS3, the NHL series (yes, I am serious) and many more... bloatedsack
1. Elite (Not the current version - The original) - ZX Spectrum - An open worlded game in 1984! My parents did not see me or my brother for a few years due to that game Holy crap, I forgot about this. This was definately huge in my life, although I can't claim to have played it on a Timex which adds a level of nerd.cool to it (I was a C64 owner). I remember sweating balls in the beginning of every career 'til I could afford a docking computer. Sure, I could do without, but it was such a PITA. Long live Captain Jameson! For those of you interested, a modern interpertation of the classic Elite can be found in Oolite: http://www.oolite.org/download/ Despite the primitive wireframe graphics, this game still holds up as alot of fun.
