Kustom Crew Color Requests

Recommended Posts

JRebbert512

Did you go 4 shades because it was previously mentioned or because that's the colour you found worked best? If so that's pretty neat both of us have used 4 shades to get the colour we wanted. Means you can pretty much take any official Hex colour, go 4 shades darker and then you have the code for the in-game equivalent.Edit: Totally missed C64fanatic's post, you can still answer if you want.

I went with four because of C64's post. Now that I'm looking at the Stinger photo next to the Ferarri website screen cap some more, I think I might need to go one shade darker still.

It's not "unknown." The LaFerrari only comes in Rosso Corsa, Nero or Giallo Modena

It's unknown to ME. Additionally, Ferrari customers can order their cars in ANY color, not just the stock choices they give you to choose from. Edited by JRebbert512

I think this will be my last refinement of Rosso Corsa. As I mentioned previously, that color in the real, world currently is known to be #D40000; to adjust for GTA, I made it four shades darker, to #7F0000. However, in my most recent post, I commented that I might try it one further shade darker, which is #6A0000.

Here is a Stinger GT in that color:

Here is the Ferrari website screen cap previewing Rosso Corsa:

17357582265_0bf3890867_o.png

Here are KifflomBroBro's photos of a Ferrari apparently painted Rosso Corsa; the car appears darker due to lighting:

Is this close enough? Or do you think the previous version, #7F0000 was better:

I know in various threads on GTA Forums, and possibly in this thread as well, people have posted codes for Giallo Modena, a yellow color used by Ferrari. I've never been quite happy with any of them, so I've been working on my own. Here it is.

Giallo Modena/Modena Yellow: #CC9700

(The intended color was #FFBD00, made two shades darker for GTA.)

A photograph (not mine) of a Ferrari 458 Italia in Giallo Modena:

A screen cap of Ferrai's website previewing Giallo Modena on an F12berlinetta, the car that was the main basis for the Carbonizzare (and the inspiration for the license plate on mine):

17357579185_e01f9af788_o.png

An interesting brief note about this color... When it comes to Ferrari, most people think of red. Indeed, more Ferraris have been painted some shade of red than any other color. But if you ask Ferrari, they'll say the company's official color is yellow. Why yellow? It comes from the flag of the city of Modena in Italy, where Ferrari was originally from. The flag has two colors on it: yellow and blue. I'm not sure why Ferrari chose the yellow instead of the blue to be the official color; perhaps it was because the yellow is sportier, or bolder. Whatever the reason, yellow--this yellow--appears on every Ferrari ever made. Regardless of what color the body is painted, you'll find Giallo Modena surrounding the prancing horse in the Ferrari emblem.

Here is my take on Verde Miura, a color used by Lamborghini on the Miura. I wanted this color for my Monroe, which is based partly on the Miura (I wish it more closely resembled the Miura, especially in the headlights, and in the B pillars.)

This was a difficult color to make, mainly because Lamborghini is known to have used at least three different shades of Lime Green to be this color. Additionally, at the time, Lamborghini kept very poor records, and it was practically impossible to tell what exact color a Miura was really painted. This often made paint-matching on damaged or worn Miuras a real problem. If you do an image search for green Miuras, you'll find examples that range from very near to the Dew Yellow color in LSC, to the Lime Green in LSC, and everything in between.

I feel that mine is a close-enough (for GTA) match to the spirit of the color.

Verde Miura: #6CA028

(The intended color was #87C832, made two, shades darker for GTA.)

JRebbert512 --> Some nice paints you have made there :) .

Your last take on the Rosso Corsa, #6A0000, is spot on in my opinion. On the other hand I would make your Giallo Modena/Modena Yellow: #CC9700 one shade darker. Your Verde Miura: #6CA028 seems to be fine also.

Just my two cents.

When I redo a historic paint I first give it my best shot and then take it out of LSC and see it in different lightings - just like you do. That's the only way to go.

You know what, I think you're right. Here's the new color, #B28400, which is three shades darker (for GTA) than the intended #FFBD00.

And again, for side-by-side comparison, is an actual Ferrari painted the target color...

I'm going to take a break and instead, issue another challenge.

This time the target is the Lamborghini Diablo SE30, in the light purple or lavender color.

I saw one of these on the highway two days ago, which is quite unusual for this area (between Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC). Oh, I'll see a Gallardo from time to time, but a Diablo--especially a special edition--is quite rare to see just driving around.

Curiously, earlier in the day, on the same highway and going the same way, I saw a Noble M12. That car is so rare to see around here, I had to do some searching on Google just to find out what it was I saw. It's the first one of those I've ever seen.

Anyway, back to the challenge. Here's the target:

lamborghini-diablo-se-01.jpg

I know someone else requested this color not too long ago,Meitner here or in another thread, but the color someone came up with wasn't really all that close. However, the person who asked for it liked what they got, so it ended there. I'd really like to see if something much closer to this is possible. Unfortunately, I think a pearlescent (white, probably) might be needed to really make this look right, but since that's not possible, I'd like to see how close a one-layer color can get.

I have an app on my phone that can do that.

The point of the challenge isn't for someone else to do the easy part for me; the point is for someone else to do the HARD part. I can get an RGB from a random spot on a photo with no problem. But which spot? A photo of a car will have highlights, shadows...you can point to a hundred different spots on the car and get a hundred different RGB values.

Plus the color value needs to be corrected to account for the way GTA brightens crew colors.

So don't just point to a couple spots and tell me some codes you think maybe might possibly have a chance of kinda/sorta looking like something that vaguely resembles something that's nearly close to that color... Show me the color on a car in the game. THAT'S what makes it a challenge! :D

Good idea with that challenge :) . I am not sure that I have enough time for it today, but perhaps.

Diablo SE30 pictured

RGB 56,29,56

HEX

Salmon Pink Pearl

Thanks to a forum member here i was given the base color long ago this was done using my own editing of HSV because editing the HSV to get new hex and rgb is more accurate than simply darkening.

Turning down the value no more than 10 ish and saturation no more than 3 seems to correct most colors in gta in my experience.

Original Hex i was given back in 2013

#4f294f

On another note that turismo from sp is utility red. Utility red is the closest non lsc color to Rosso Corossa imo.

Both the Stinger and Stinger GT are painted Utility Red

Its rgb and rgbs for all in game colors can be found in SilverFox1's Ifruit codes for charles sheet here

Was that Pearl added to that Crew color before it was patched out of the game? you can't add a Pearl now, at least not that i know of. I also discovered this certain unique texture that all Crew colors have no matter how bright they are, the L.S.C. dark colors have this texture too but when you get to the brighter colors it goes to a more polished look.

A modding buddy made that infernus on 360 since mine i went with crew over metal with pearl and on ng it looked like sh*t. Then i duped it in place of my horrid infernus on ng.

Modders on 360 and ps3 can still force custom rgb over any paint type and add pearls.

As for crew colors all crew colors have utility texture. They used to be metallic texture before crew over anything was patched. A few paints in classic are also utility such as black and midnight purple

Ok, I didn't know he used the same code, since he didn't say. I think the white pearl makes the car look more like the real one in the photo, but that's irrelevant to me on PS4.

A Maned Wolf --> Looks really good. To bad we can't put pearls on crew paints on the PS4, but my guess is that we will get the option again some time.

Acording to Lambocars.com the official name for the paint is "Lambo Thirty" (30th anniversary in 1994).

Jrebbert512 - They look like the ones I ended up with earlier today, but I gave up cause I don't think this colour looks really good without the pearl. I couldn't make anything I was happy with.

That is also the reason why I avoid trying to redo historic metallic paints as crew paints. The result will always look dull compared to the original. The hole idea with a metallic paint is to make the paint look more vibrant and shiny. We need that pearl-option R*!!

But if I should choose one it would be the lighter colour: #4F294F.
