Okay so I made this crew color a while ago and a friend wants to know the hex but I 5got to write it down. I’ve tried everything but I don’t know how to get the proper hex code, none of the shades match

EDIT: I found a color that’s a few shades lighter, I don’t know how hex codes work if someone could tell me how to make a hex code go a few shades darker would be appreciated! Hex: 7A4E9C

Thats a pretty cool colour I looked at many other pictures of it to get a sense of it.

Very tricky yellow to pin down but I’m finally happy to give you the hex #997c39

I spent around 2 hours tweaking this until it was right...main issue is making it not change dramatically between LSC and outside...I’m confident it’s now spot on.

 

if you want to have a pearl to recreate the picture best I think is Rolled Steel.

I take it you’re using the inspect element method then...yeah just try ff  or other random letters.

 

I use the Furry Monkey method with no need for the letters.

Tbh I recreated the colour in the pic you sent but in different lights it’s going to vary.

 

The pic you’ve sent will be much easier to make...I’ll probably have it done tomorrow.

Just a hopefully helpful tip: I do recommend that for these colors people find out the names of these colors or reference multiple pictures of the same color. I see a lot of people asking "can someone do this color" and they show a picture of it in a rendering or in bad lighting. From personal experience lately, lighting is everything. And some of the worst pictures will make you, or some of these other helpful folks, create colors that look absolutely nothing like the actual color that was requested. And then what's even worse, when someone else asks for that color "it's been done, here" and it isn't what they asked for.

 

When I make colors, I definitely try to find as many pics of the color as possible, in all kinds of lighting, and then I create and test the color in similar lighting. That just creates the best result I've found.

Definitely...I am shown a picture in weird lighting I’ll spend ages replicating the colour In weird lighting  

 

The newer picture took a couple of try’s to get exact.

 

If making colours for myself I’ll reference multiple pictures.

 

I just made Mars Red and I was sure to take multiple samples from different pics to get a sense of it before going with the best one.
