I have been over this thread quite a few times, but if what I ask has already been covered, I apologize in advance.

 

1. I guess this would be directed to Zan or Joonas, when someone posts a picture here for you to get a hex, how exactly are you doing this? I ask because this is really interesting to me, and Id like to be able to do this myself......just something to "tinker" around with.

 

2. Lastly, and I am on ps4, whenever I do a custom color or add one of the colors you guys have come up with, the base always has the classic look to it. I understand matte crew colors are not available and such, but is there any way to put a custom paint on a car and have it look like any other texture aside from classic? This isnt really a complaint of any kind, Im just curious.

I appreciate that thank you, well for me I use Paint and this site: http://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_picker.asp

 

Others choose to use different one and I sometimes use different ones, but really all the color sites do pretty much the same thing.

 

I pick the color using paint and enter the RGB into the website, then I darken it accordingly to match the way GTA presents RGB colors, for some reason we don't really know GTA tends to show colors a lot brighter than a color picker website, so we have to darken them.

 

As for the texture, there are some ways to make it less obvious its Utility, adding a bright or contrasting Pearl can sometimes give off a nice illusion of a different texture and not make it look too boring. As for Crews over any texture, yea they still have not fixed that, it's been over two years since we lost that ability.

I've been trying out some things on the Pisswasser Dominator. The beer yellow will darken any primary color so I'm trying to add blue or yellow to the roof red (for a brighter color) to see if I can match it.

 

Anyone else trying something like that?

A second thing that I would appreciate is this: I have been trying to use hex number #360000, which according to the spreadsheets is listed as Matte Dark Red. I have two questions: 1. What is the correct ending to this hex, AA,FF, ETC. 2. This color will come out as a utility finish since we can't do crew colors on other textures right? Thanks in advance and for the great work Zan, Joonas, and everyone else!!!

1. AA is the correct ending, although some others might work also for it, like FF.

2. Correct, it will come out as utility texture. Currently only on PC you can apply Crew color to different textures like Matte or Metals.
