I've seen people in the mid 30s heist combat better than people in the 100s range. heck, one time I did rooftop rumble with 2 randoms.one guy was 74 and the other guy was 1,110. idk if his number was legit or not but he was one LAZY f*k! me and the 74 went to clear or the building and this high level slob goes and gets a frogger helicopter.the 74 level died and I drive and follow the document guy and I just toss a sticky on his car and blew him up right as the lazy high level was above us. he the high level drove a rusted pink emporer which I shall never forget.

Funny story but sadly quite typical. You need to understand that people are jaded when it comes to rooftop rumble, high levels especially. That guy may have done the mission 1000 times. I know I don't speak for myself when I say that I often f*ck around in that mission.

... If you got the document he might have flew you to Madrazo's to speed things up. It shouldn't take three people to clear the garage anyways.

OT: I agree with OP in that their characters are fresh to Los Santos and joining in on the biggest paydays we get when they are really just learning the city and it's connections seems like a bit of a jump.

It also increases the chance of somebody that just started the game joining your heist, not knowing basics and screwing it up. 75 is a bit high but I'd say at least level 40.

I've had a better experience with people under level 75 than above. The higher levels seem to have a superiority complex.

I'm not even level 50 yet because I don't really do missions/races, free roam is where it's at.

Statistically yes, lower level players tend to be a liability in most heists. However, not ALL of them are bad. My main was level 84 when I decided to re-roll a new character for fun so I was a level 5 getting platinum rewards on heist finales just because I was actually an older player, just lower level character.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Unless that cover is dressed like a douche and asks you how to use a helicopter after proceeding to crash it into the ocean twenty minutes into a heist.

Agreed. It should be unlocked at 100. Dont be surprised how f*cking stupid players can be.

skill is in no way determined by level.

also shark cards

would be terrible for alt accounts/characters

Never passed a heist with a low level yet....

*Low level prisoner jumping in the pilots car

*Low level failing because they like to shoot out of the window at random things before we even get to the heist.

* low level Rambo likes to run and shoot thinking he's invincible/not getting behind cover.

I even had a low level call me a tight bastard once because I gave him 20% instead of 25% then he was the only one that kept dying.

They can't fly, shoot or drive.... Their only real purpose in heist is to waste time and make people lose patience.

I don't need a level lock I just kick anyone under level 100 from my heist, it's been working pretty well so far....

Not all low ranks are bad.

On the Prison Break - Station setup, one time, I was assigned the cargo ship with a rank 2. When we got to the ship, I fell into the water. By the time I got back out, the rank 2 had managed to clear most of the ship by herself.

Yesterday, I was doing the Prison Break finale and we had a rank 25 pilot. The way he flew made it seem like he knew the tactics like the back of his hand. He did the fly behind the jet trick and managed to lose the cops quite quickly. I'll go as far as to say he was a better pilot than me.

All the rank 2 had to do was jump the cabins and shoot only 2 people near the doors...

And how you know the pilot weren't in a second account?

I also seen many lvl <50 which were solid, but the most players are just doesn't have enough experience to finish a heist. Heists should be high end missions, and in this moment there are missions which are unlocked with level 75+, which makes this point pretty redicolous. Heists are not a level 12 mission.

After my most recent Prison Break finale experience, I do think there is such a thing as too low a rank for heists. For a while, I kept thinking that rank doesn't correlate with heist performance, but now, I think that it does to some extent.

I was doing the finale with a rank 4. He was a cool dude. He seemed pretty competent since he managed to get through the prison without dying (the prison officer was doing all of the work, but still). The problem came when making the transition from the riot van to the plane. The rank 4 couldn't make the short run and kept getting shot by the cops.

So yes, there is such a thing as too low a rank. If you're that low a rank, the enemies are just too strong for you; your character won't even make it a few steps without dying. It doesn't matter if you're the best heister in the world and know each finale like the back of your hand. It doesn't matter if you're playing with randoms or in a crew. The enemies WILL annihilate you.

I would say my minimum is rank 25. At least you won't have the lowest amount of health.

Well what happens if I/someone else wants to use their secondary character that is like lv10?! This is obviously taking in the fact that said person(s) are already competent etc.

If they release new heists they better be locked till 100+

Why is this even an issue? We all get to choose who we play with. If you join a random heist and see low levels you do have the option to leave. If you're host and a low level joins, you do have the option to kick. Ta-daaa!!!

Because rank ALWAYS equals to skill.

For me and perhaps others, it's a principle thing. Rooftop Rumble and Trash Talk are Contact Missions unlocked at ranks 75 and 81 respectively and can't be considered as the most difficult missions... Heists should be higher than the default, lowest rank possible (12) for level-locking non-PVP jobs.

Yes, higher ranks can cock things up just as much, but I'd suggest the number of those people will likely be smaller than the lower ranked people making a mess.

It's really the experience which is key, and some other members of the GTA Forums have suggested extra info displayed on your profile to help "rank" them in terms of usefulness, etc.

Level lock might be nice. An incentive for people to grind to get into heists/money. Plus, with grinding comes experience and the respect not to dick around during high-stakes heists.

That would do sh*t all. Higher level doesn't remove people's ability or desire to troll or f*ck around.

Tired of low levels screwing up heists. Its like a guarantee they will always die first or screw it up somehow.

R* needs to level lock it asap!

Yes! I honestly don't understand how some people can mess up the easiest things and completely fail to read the instructions at the bottom of the screen.

I agree.

A lot of people seem to forget low level is less health that that of a high level.

I've seen too many level 13's try to run out in the open to get a better shot of an enemy because i did it. I'm level 275 i can take a bit more, and i know when to get back into cover. You don't seem to be able to, you stay in cover where you're less of a liability. Learn to play the gane and learn how it works before you try to rambo the situation. Also while you're at it LEARN THAT YOUR FIRING YOUR RPG WILL BLOW UP ALL SURROUNDING CARS NOT JUST THE ONE.

seriously, im not joking, the amount of low level players with a homing launcher that think shooting all the vehicles in the PAC standard setup 'convoy' is a good idea. NO IT ISNT YOURE JUST MAKING US RESTART FOR THE 5TH TIME.

One guy was like 'no, the explosion only affects the car i hit' like, how bad do You have to be to think that. No, you set off a chain reaction that blows up all nearby vehicles. Use your god damn brain, its not hard.

i think heists shoud just be locked for anyone who didnt do all preps and heists that came before

you know, so if you woud host the pacific you woud only find the best of the best

but then again that woud probably an isue for inviting friends and stuff

in any case, level doesnt mean much

a level 30 in a heavy utility vest that is humble enough to listen is worth more then a level 120 who thinks he knows best.....both of that kind of people i actualy saw with my own eyes

I had a low level ask for 5% more, he wouldn't ready till he got what he wanted

Then its him that dies......

UndyingBubbles

You need game experience to know how to do a heist setup and finale. As heists are based on experience I would lock them at each heists ie.

Fleeca - need to be level 20+

Prison - need to be level 40+

Series A - 60+

Humane - 80+

Pacific - 100+

All rank means is you can carry more amour / snacks, have slightly better health and have a couple of the more useful guns

Strategy and communication beats rank every time

All these players were over 100 and kicked those lower...........

......and they were completely useless

Screenshot-Original_zpstd1jkx8b.png

Hosts need to take taking responsibility too, don't set it to hard then bitch when the level 12 that you invited dies

While I would like to see a rank lock it would be closer to 30
