The reason for the existance of JP is...?

Ok so many speculated that accumulating JP points would be in some way related to starting heists, but now they're here and we don't need JP to start/join a heist, why do we still have this useless stat?

Some other thread a few members on the forum explained the reason behind JP. I will link you to thread if it's still around.

I believe it exists to differentiate between competing players or crews on say a playlist perhaps or crew challenge

Hmm, strange way to differentiate between players/crews, especially since some missions are ridiculously easy and quick to complete whilst others take ages because they require a trek halfway across the map to do.

JP are used as the way of winning Playlists, the player with the highest amount of JP wins.

I remember hearing that they were initially intended for heists in that you had to accumulate a certain amount before you could launch a heist. This Idea was probably scraped along with the previous heist formats that were discontinued to make way for what we have now. As Rockstar told us, they went through multiple heist formats before they landed on their final choice.

But if all the competing players are competing in the same activity then what does it matter how difficult it is ?

Playlist winners. It's similar to tourney rankings in which the first place gets x points, second gets y, etc, and whoever has the highest total at the end wins.

There was an interview just before GTA V came out in 2013 (think it was either CVG or IGN) that stated job points were to be used for heists, you had to accumulate a set number of points in order to start the heist.

As you all know, heists was scrapped and started being completely rebuilt around January 2014 so they never took JP out.

Nowadays I just look and see who's got the most job points and they get invited to my heists if friends aren't on.

Japan makes some good cars still, that's why they exist, provide us with good automobiles.

No worries rockstar with be adjusting prices of all sellable cars again.... Or even change spawn rates of vehicles we used to sell aka (gold Chrome dubsta) maybe even they will add some more useless capture missions

All this before making jp mean something

It's only something we get after every missions

The value changes depending on race placement

We now collect it from heists

And it still

Means absolutely nothing

Boring!!!! Why not accumulate them and let us some the jp points on something like apartment content ????

I'm sure there lots of ideas that Jp points could be used for

But again us players don't work at rockstar

But what if we did
