Abandoned mall idea.

R* should totally implement an abandoned mall out sandy shores with with fully detailed interiors, crazy homeless bums, brothel (maybe?) secret missions and sweat-inducing cage fights.

TL;DR: Imagine some whacky abandoned mall introduced to GTAV and GTAO where players can enter and do various activities.

It would add variety to online for sicko players looking for a good time buying strange substances from iffy looking bums and carrying out tasks for boss leaders who happen to hang out there.

So the mall would have 3 floors above ground and a flooded beneath level floor where players can slowly walk through murky diseased water and drown their enemies if necessary. It would be pretty typical during the daytime with the odd bum or two floating around but nighttime is where the fun begins, because of low visibility.

There would be all sorts of characters lurking around at night, from prostitutes with an assortment of diseases for your GTA character to choose from, shady characters who will attempt to stab you with any sharp object in their vicinity, mob bosses who hang around occasionally asking characters to complete a job in free roam for a cash reward and of course cage fights. At night it would also be really dark in certain areas and whilst players are inside the abandoned mall during night they disappear off the radar and reappear IF they switch on a flashlight for vision.

Cage fights would be an area where your GTA character either battles it out with a random NPC on a certain difficulty for fun, or wage money and gain RP by tearing the sh*t out of their real life opponents. There is a roster where you can sign up for fights before the cagefight event actually begins, which can involve barb wires, a board with nails in it, a staple/nail gun and ladders.

In the mall there would also be a system where your character can pick up various items like bottles/cups (similar to GTA IV) and throw them at other players for sh*ts and giggles, with trolleys also available to attack players with. Random bounties will occasionally be thrown at players who attempt to attack mafia/mob bosses which result being visible on the radar for around 2 seconds every 10 seconds, resulting in a man hunt from other broke players in the mall looking for some cash$dollar.

This abandoned mall would be topped off with breakable glass windows and diarrhea-flinging homeless guys who chuck fecal matter at your character and obscure their vision for a short period a couple of homeless guys running around trying to stab players with rusty knives and broken bottles.

Thoughts?

I'd be up for a large-scale interior space in FR to explore, even if it was completely empty.

I feel the motel in Sandy Shores is a wasted opportunity, since half the time you get interrupted by the gang shootout there. Sometimes I just wanna use it as a place to hide.

I love this

I love this.

I LOVE this.

Except for the trolly-sh*t-throwing part.

Retired Mafia

from prostitutes with an assortment of diseases for your GTA character to choose from,

can't wait for my character to get aids.

i'm from one point a fan of the idea of an abandoned mall. but not such a fan of the activities you're thinking off.

Not to sh*t all over your idea but where would a mall even fit? The desert is already freakin tiny.. Somehow fitting a mall that'd probably be more than half the size of the Sandy Shores town area would be ridiculous.

Could replace that useless Tool Store near Humane Labs.

Edit: Yea, it's YouTool.

Perfect sized building, they could go wild with the underground level.

Yeah the Youtool would be a perfect spot for an abandoned mall, it just sits there and screams "Use me Rockstar".

IT DOES! It has no use, and looks like it has so much potential...that and the Davis Mega Mall

No need to talk about some place that originally has no interior.

What about the seafloor? Yeah, it's there but it has 0 use.

CrysisAverted

Considering the npc population often vanishes I would assume that part would be absolutely easy.

YouTool actually has a pseudointerior. You can look inside through the glass doors.

I know. Can't you glitch in there somehow? It's prob not solid though. Reminds me of the Staunton Island storefronts in GTA III.

Give me an old cop car and make sure there's a car dealership inside.

New Oldsmobiles are in early this year!

TeammateHelper

Alternatively, implement interior customization and have players buy furniture, wallpapers, etc. from YouTool as well as important items/weapons like drills, handsaw/chainsaw, screwdriver, etc.

RAZORFACEJONES

Someone mentioned a car dealership a little ways up and that got me thinking. I can't believe how little there is in the way of car dealerships in the game. And wouldn't be nice if we could purchase some PV's that way instead of all online?

It doesn't have to be replaced, they can just add an interior to said YouTool.

hah , now u mentioned

there's a stairs entrance to the mall ( proably has escalator ) , this entrance close to ponsonbys

in " friend " pickup , jimmy may spawn on the mall's parking lot and in switching scenes , michael either give tracey/jimmy money the drop them off outside the mall

Antigenetic

I actually really like this concept, if they implemented it like the Carcer City Mall from Manhunt it could be really cool.

They wouldn't need to go overboard; bring in the Fight Club from TBOGT and maybe a stealth based gang attack with a new gang taking influence from the Innocentz.

Untame Snail

I've been in an abandoned mall before. It's nowhere near as exciting as you're thinking, although it would make a great location for a deathmatch or a golf cart race.

Need access to more buildings tbh.

Open up The Bean Machine for a wee coffee to replenish energy, should have included a casino hussle as a heist, more bars and nightclubs as well.

Loved Vice City and just rolling up to da club and clearing it out.

The one next to Cluckin Bell right?

There was one of those closed off mall-things in GTA IV as well.

Across the street from Modo in north Algonquin.
