Possibly the WORST Face Transformation of all Time

This happened to me during a heist yesterday. I turned into a tubby faced black guy. I would have lived with it had I had to, but a 2 minute search of the Rockstar support forum told me to go to...

 

single player -> start -> online -> choose character

 

...and it was fixed. They've acknowledged the issue and that resolution worked for me.

That subtle sarcasm is fruitless. I asked a public question and sent a support ticket most probably earlier than you did yesterday and they gave me the same resolution. It's still reverting back to other character types.

Here was my ticket, and as of now, Rockstar has admitted that they're still working on a solution, so good luck actually thinking yours will work forever(if it does, you're lucky), because for most, it's still not even after they reset the character.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all, and I never raised a ticket. Like I said, I searched and found a solution. It's worked for me (100% - no further changes since), so I posted it since no-one else had done. I'm sure it will help some people.

 

Did someone get out the wrong side of the bed?

The needless hostility doesn't exactly help any situation, so you really don't have to engage in a futile argument with me. Let's look through these points again so I can stretch across the main concept to you.

 

 

 

Dude - you're the one being hostile. Stop reading things with your angry voice. I've given advice that worked for me, 100% FACT. If it doesn't work for you then there's no need to squeal about it.

This is triggered by any Job, this glitch is not exclusive to only Heists. Several people on Rockstar Support have pointed this out and explained their situation and even EquanoxZ has pointed it out on this thread. I too, am also having this occur with simply and Job, despite Rockstar's help so far. I at least, however, have took as much action as I should have with a thorough explanation.

 

Yah, I read your ticket, actually amazed that they allowed you to change your appearance I was kindly granted the ability to change my Character's appearance earlier by Jennifer H, a R* Support Employee.

I suggested this to my support guy and he basically told me to rebuild my database and all that hoorah. Even though I specifically said I was on PS4, the instructions for Xbox were given.

Clearing the Game Data:

(Prior to clearing the game data, ensure that you back up any Save Data so it doesn't become deleted)

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

2. Select Storage or Memory.

3. Highlight any storage device, and then press A on your controller.

4. Select Games and Apps.

5. Scroll through the list until you find the game you want to clear the data, once you find it press A on your controller.

6. Delete any game related files which are not "save" files, if these files are deleted they cannot be recovered.

7. Once all of the files have been deleted, go back to the Xbox Dashboard Home.

8. Reboot the game.

Install the latest patch to resolve your issue.

This is after the 4th message, So i closed this ticket as solved and lodged another one to hopefully get a different staff member.

 

Thats when I was redirected to their Character Selection Screen.

 

For me, its a temp fix, my character will morph into a crazy she-devil at random whilst doing missions or jobs. I like doing missions and pvp stuff but currently I'm confined to free roam until the Daily Objective requires me to do a contact mission or capture etc.

 

I just hope like hell that my character never fully makes the switch and gets a permanent sex change operation that can only be fixed by the Rockstar Gods.

Why are you dancing around the main point of what I was trying to tell you? This is the second reply where evidence supports that you've refused to read the very well and heavily backed upped implemented factual and anecdotal data, as well as my(and several others) personal experiences.

If you think I'm being hostile, it's simply your perspective, and that's just how you seem to be taking it. Like I said, I'm not here to argue and I have no wish to do so either. I'm here to help people but with more valid data and a more thorough approach with stronger logistics as to have this issue fixed for all(not just one lucky person who had an easy fix unlike everyone else)in the shortest amount of time possible as to not have people paranoid about a permanent transformation to their character, which could have been progressed for roughly two years now.

No one seems to have a problem here, except nearly everyone. You know, that problem most of us are experiencing and getting support from Rockstar(or at least what R* considers support)?

In essence, don't bother arguing with me, it won't help anything, anybody, or anyone.

Instead, just please read what I earlier wrote instead of reading the first paragraph and automatically assume I'm being hostile.

I hope your character doesn't morph and/or continue to morph like ours.

I'll try it eventually.. I've got Digital, so it means download ~50gigs (it'd be my third time too)

This is possibly an issue with corrupted temporary files. If you continue to have issues like this, please try these steps:
On Xbox 360: Clear your system cache, then Hold LB + RB while booting the game
On Xbox One: Clear your system cache by holding the power button on your Xbox One until the system fully shuts off. You can then immediately power on the system and launch the game.
On PS3 or PS4: Clear your game data (NOT save data) from the Game Data Utility in the XMB (system menu). Afterwards, hold L1 + R1 while booting the game.
Note: This will also reset your brightness settings and choice of language in GTAV.
It is recommended that you clear your console and game cache after each update or extended periods of play as there may be lots of temporary files on the console that may become corrupted. Also after an extended play session it is advised that you shut down you console completely instead of putting it in stand-by mode. Putting the console in stand-by can prevent it from clearing temporary data and cause issues over time.
If you're still having issues submit a support ticket.

Yes, this happened after my experience with Jennifer H. I have indeed gotten the second suggestion from Dwayne E, a Rockstar Support Employee. It has not helped me at all though regardless. When I received this suggestion, at the bottom it says submit a ticket if there are further problems, so I had to, which led to my Support Ticket with Casey B(which you read, thank you).

If I'm gonna be completely honest with you, don't take Dwayne E's advice. I've seen him be needlessly hostile to questioners on the Support Forums for no reason. He also attempts to pin all blame on you, or just redirect you to a ticket when it's really not even necessary. He did this to me when I had an issue with the windows on my Karin Kuruma (Armored).

In short, do your best to avoid Dwayne E. Ironically, I know you've already had a run-in with somewhat irritating R* support employees yourself, so just some friendly advice for the future.

So can this happen to every character or just some depending on their heritage? I've been playing with both my male and fem char, doing missions and heists with both the last few days, often using masks, yet this has only affected my male char. Tammy (fem char) hasn't been affected.

 

So is she safe? Is it just me (male char) that's been cursed? or has she just been lucky so far?

I tried the L1+R1+square method and it reset all my settings, so that worked, but my face still f*cked up while doing heists.
