i know that combat suits make you a tank in heists but are there any other outfits that give you bonuses in heists?

I would like some definitive info on this. I know the heavy heist clothes affect your sprint ability.

Do stealth clothes make you more stealthy?

I know the LTS update Bulletproof Helmets are supposed to reduce headshot damage.

What else?

Do these bonuses work outside of heists? I use the Heavy Vest, Bulletproof Helmet and Night Vision for missions. It doesn't make me slower at all.

I think they only work for heist. I've tried them indifferent situations with no effect but in heist they do

Rebreathers work in freemode, serious lung capacity boost.

It's only the heavy vests and it's only effective in heists

Do you have any source for this? Or are you just guessing?

Cutter De Blanc

I wear the combat mask with the hoodie up because I can, but it seems to reduce my damage taken, especially in cars where my head is the biggest target.

combat helmet reduces damage but it's from the lts update. It's the only article of clothing with added protection in freeroam but still not effective enough to be more than cosmetic. Edited by TreFacTor

Stealth clothes do seem to reduce enemy detection....

So does clicking left stick, but you pretty much never need to stealth anyway.

Helmets protect your head. Ear defenders reduce your damage as well if someone shots them instead of your skull. The heavy vests make you unsprint but give you more health/armor in heists. Only in heists.

Heavy Utility Vest:

Heists - Allows 2x more damage towards health bar but doesn't affect body armour bar. Causes the player to not be able to sprint, only jog, walk, and jump.

Freemode - Nothing.

Night Vision Goggles:

Heists - Allows player to see more clearly in the dark.

Freemode - Allows player to see more clearly in the dark.

Rebreather:

Heists - Allows player to have limited extra lung capacity underwater (up to 20 minutes of extra air time).

Freemode - Allows player to have limited extra lung capacity underwater (up to 20 minutes of extra air time).

Bulletproof Helmet:

Heists - Allows limited protection from headshots.

Freemode - Allows limited protection from headshots.

Masks:

Heists - No special ability.

Freemode - Putting on any mask after attaining a 3 Star Wanted Level while out of sight from the cops will reduce it down to a 2 Star Wanted Level.

Stealth Clothing has no proven ability in Heists or Freemode. People perpetuating this are most likely under the Placebo Effect.

Serbian Snacks

For those looking for a definitive answer,

The Bulletproof Helmet reduces damage taken from headshots in Heists AND Free-mode.

The Heavy Vest reduces damage in Heists, not in Free-mode.

The slow down effect is also only in heists.

That's because it literally only has an impact in heists lol.

Thanks. This is more what I am looking for. Have you done any in game research yourself to find out the damage reduction from the Heavy Utility Vest? If not can you source the 2x health damage reduction?

Are the Bulletproof Helmets from LTS update the only additional damage reduction for the head? I thought motorcycle helmets also reduced damage.

No motor cycle helmets do nothing (Neither do beer hats, ear defenders, or headphones). Just because someone used more words to say what had already been said, doesn't make it a better answer...it just makes it long winded.

Dont motorcycle helmets reduce the damage you take when falling off bikes? Namely when your head hits the ground, it did that in GTA IV.

no. You'll notice even your body armor takes damage in a fall. Only bullets should effect body armor but that's how gtao is. There's no rhyme or reasoning for why it is this way.

I wasn't meant to be rude, but it took me like 2 minutes to see the difference between Heists & FM. And its even mentioned in one of the loading screens.
