if GTAV was a PC Exclusive then everyone could be happy.

Except for, you know, the millions of people who don't play on PC...

There are 900mill PC gamers around the globe, your argument is invalid.

And more than half of them play world of warcraft. there is no excuse, you cant blame the consoles for gta v. if gta v did not have an ocean floor as detailed as it did then we would have gotten a much bigger map, more gameplay elements, interiors and more foliage. Blame the priorities of rock* trying to make deep sea diving simulator instead of grand theft auto.

And you know this how? Are you an expert on some type of a university to know all of this? Your claims are so false without any proof. WoW is maybe one of the most played, because game is alive, full of diversity, and with tons of sh*t in it, unlike any exlusive on console that dies within few months. What happend with The Order? Nobody plays it, because its 6 hour long boring story line filled up with cut scenes, almost no gameplay at all, same goes for Destiny, hyped to hell and nobody liked it, Killzone was a failure, Sony lied about native 1080p and stable 60 fps. I do have a right to blame consoles for everything, dont you think if it wasnt consoles fault they would along side with detailed ocean add much more things on surface? They suffered with sh*tty 512MB ram, ancient CPU and GPU, and now Sony and Micro$oft released a consoles two years ago with underpowered hardware. More foliage, interiors, and gameplay elements all matter on hardware kid, if you knew anything about programming and boundaries for those who develop stuff you wouldnt say sh*t. GTA V was running 22 fps avg, and i was surprised it even runs on LG. Now it runs 30 fps on NG, which means limit has been reached. Rockstar used full power of consoles, and now they will use full power of PC's as they said ''their most graphicaly and technicaly advanced version yet''.

''deep sea diving simulator'' you are obvious 10 year old.

There were Heists in GTA III at the beginning lol

Vice City had a real heist

San Andreas had a casino heist

GTA IV had a big bank heist

GTA V wasnt the first grand theft auto with heists

btw i cant remember the heists from V

only the first one was memorable

If you think the heists in those games are comparable to that of GTAV then you're not being honest. Heists were the central theme of GTAV for f*cks sake.

they are comparable

the setups missions from SA for the Caligulas casino heists are very good ( it has many before it was cool moments )

the characters from the VC The Job heist had more character developemt than Franklin

and the chills from the LC coup are real

V had a good idea but meh

Well this has been discussed to death, so here we go once again...

Look I give all credit to the art and sound artists at R*. They did an amazing job of detailing the life and atmosphere of Southern California. Some people might disagree with the use of the forest, desert, or even the ocean areas. In my opinion it was a welcome change of pace from IV where everything felt cramped. Driving around in V just feels free and open. I also love just taking some time to walk the streets of LS. The NPC's and atmosphere of the city is just really really well done.

Where things fall apart is the story and some of the design choices. This has been well worn territory but for example the abruptness of some of the side characters, like Simeon, to be relatable. Or Madrasso, who should have been the big bad, turns into a little wimp. Now that may just be R* humor, but they never really replaced him with anybody who could be considered a threat.

Large gaps in the story didn't make any sense. *spoilers ahead* Some may disagree, but killing Johnny K so early made no sense. At least make him a threat throughout the game, forget the business with the Chinese (I can't even remember the name, Chang, Wang, something...) I honestly forgot who Stretch was, he made that big of an impact. The IAA/FIB missions were out of a different game entirely. One of the heists didn't even pay out. I'd rather have another Jewelry Store-type heist. All in all the story just had this mean, pissed off attitude to it. There was humor, but it wasn't that impactful and felt just lazy tbh.

Single player and Online felt like two different games at times. I believe that there were two different teams working on SP and Online. It just doesn't seem to fit together. For example, how long did it take to get waypoints from the select button implemented in SP? Or property that you could purchase online, but not in SP. Add to that the side missions and activities and you'll understand why my SP brethren are kinda ticked off.

Adding things like LS Customs and haircuts were nice, but I think a lot of people would like fast food joints return as example. Just some of the design choices were strange. Like how ammunation only had one shooting range. They had parachutes, but not the ability to teleport to the top of a building like in SA or TBoGT. The driving mechanics were just off, personally I liked IV's version better. NPC physics were off, again much better in IV. Why can't we crouch? Why can't I jump across a small section rather than flailing till I hit the ground? I mean just some really strange choices, choices that they seemed to have right in previous games.

Vigilante missions in SP

Cops and Crooks in Online.

IV did this well and we had fun doing it. Why is so hard to ask for a feature well enjoyed to return? I'm glad we have car washes though. If yoga is in the game, why not have more places to go? Yoga on the beach would be great! (no I'm not kidding).

If you want to characterize that as complaining, fine. My hope, and the community as well i think, is to make a better game through feedback. R* has listened in the past, bike stunting that was nerfed in a previous update as an example. I would hope that in a future update, or the next version, some of these issues would be addressed. It wouldn't take much, they have the design down, just make it better and more fun. What's the harm in that??

Driving in 4 is a matter of opinion but i dont think NPC's in 4 were better.

SA was good. But that's it. Only one heist among all of those missions and it doesn't even come close to the heists in V.

VC more character development? What? Where did that come from?

LC heist was sh*t. Like, it's not even worth calling a heist. No setup, no special job during the heist, just the same old go to point B from point A and shoot people. It just happened to take place in a bank this time.

I can't believe you're praising those heists yet call GTAV's heist 'meh'. It just boggles the mind.

In my opinion, GTA V is brilliant in all departments except the story, world design and driving physics. GTA Online should be expected to prosper since like it's a single player experience but in a world with real players. However, it's just too overwhelming and confusing for those who can't dedicate time for all of its contents anymore. I actually don't blame Rockstar because online sells very well, and there's a huge fanbase willing to pay extra money for in-game money! these microtransactions bring me nausea, and they add to the fake life of Los Santos. If they intended to make the city to be fake and shallow, then they did it very well!

You want the games to evolve, and when they do you miraculously hate change....Change.

Changes should make the game better, not worse. I posted this yesterday:

They took a step back in a lot of things in V. I don't have access to GTA Online and single player has gotten stale, so yesterday I decided to play IV and do some Vigilante and mess around. There are a lot of things better in IV that make playing it more fun than V.

- the crashes are better
- you can target specific body parts and push peds
- the reticle is much easier to see when shooting from cars
- you can get peds arrested
- you can crouch to avoid gunfire while moving
- you can leave car engines running for quick getaways
- one star wanted levels don't last way too long like in V
- at 2 stars, cops won't kill you with one shotgun blast
- explosions don't spread as unrealistically as they do in V
- you can let the wasted screen last longer which can be fun watching what happens
- no cop rubber-banding and having your wheels turned automatically when they bump you
- being able to save cheats in the phone for easy access

If things get less enjoyable, people complain. Blame Rockstar.

- the crashes are better
I'll give you that.
- you can target specific body parts and push peds
You can target specific body parts in V too. It'll lock on to center mass, just nudge the stick to shoot elsewhere. It's how you get head shots. Worked the same way in IV. No you can't push peds, not sure why, but you can knock them the F out instead which is way more satisfying IMO.
- the reticle is much easier to see when shooting from cars
Options/Display/Simple Target Size/Increase
- you can get peds arrested
You can get peds gunned down or beaten up
- you can crouch to avoid gunfire while moving
Yeah, I miss crouching too. Combat roll is supposed to be a more efficient means of dodging gunfire but it's really only useful if you turn auto-aim off (because it lowers AI accuracy too).
- you can leave car engines running for quick getaways
It does it automatically in V, but only when your character is in "aggressive mode", such as after shooting a gun or if you get a wanted level. Works better in IV, I agree,
- one star wanted levels don't last way too long like in V
They're very easy to lose. Go hide before the cops arrive, they'll never find you.
- at 2 stars, cops won't kill you with one shotgun blast
I agree, cops are too trigger happy in V. That's always bothered me.
- explosions don't spread as unrealistically as they do in V
It's been toned down for new gen, but honestly I LOVED that they chained together. Made for awesome moments like this:
xBO4S4f.gif
this isn't possible anymore.
- you can let the wasted screen last longer which can be fun watching what happens
Agreed, I wish it didn't fade to black so quickly.
- no cop rubber-banding and having your wheels turned automatically when they bump you
The reason the wheels turn is a shortcut to simulate the car losing traction when rammed - which is something that can happen in real life. Yes the wheels jerking is a pretty cheap way of achieving this, but hey, it's effective. Annoying, but effective.
- being able to save cheats in the phone for easy access
Rockstar are stingy with cheats. Invincibility only lasts 5 minutes. Annoying.

The Dedito Gae

i remember those f*ckfaces at cvg hyping up the game talking about how when they saw the preview at rockstar the map was so massive, they could not see the coast because the map was so massive and they saw people camping over by streams. assholes

and the screenshots where so misleading

look at how massive the mountain range looks

11.jpg

and look at how huge and interesting and mysterious this one makes paleto look. and i remember people where talking about going shopping in the store

1.jpg

can someone tell me where this forest is?

843-1280.jpg

whoa this desert looks huge

V-78-1280.jpg

realistic mud. and this picture makes the map look so much more varied than it is

271.jpg

blur filter and depth of field enhancer

651.jpg

yea this is what it really looks like

grand-theft-auto-v-screenshot-soluce-ME3

LOOK AT HOW MASSIVE THIS MAKES THE MAP LOOK

888-1280.jpg

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

some of us love gta v. some of us hate gta v. some of us think it is ok. but no matter what you think of gta v its not a perfect game. the map sucks. it just flat out sucks. if you honestly like the map, think to yourself, if you remove all the characters and npc, and you add rico rodriguez. then it would feel like just cause 3. not a gta game.

liberty city while it was too small to capture the feel of new york city and jersey city, it still felt very detailed, with narrow roads, repair crews, and reasons to go to other parts of the map. it just felt nice and i cant expain it. but you know there was something magic about liberty city.

san andreas from gta san andreas, felt massive. and every city had different feel and there where reasons to make a trip from one to the other.

but in gta v. the map sucks, it feels too empty and too cluttered at the same time. the city is clumped up in one corner and surrounded by mountains and empty fields. thats it. what is there to do in paleto bay? everything in paleto can be found in los santos. there is no reason to cross a boring highway to get to a boring ass town that has nothing interesting. and sandy shores is only exciting the first few times until you realize there is nothing unique about it. remember that bs about being treated differently depending where you went, they treated all three protags the same for me.

los santos itself has certain nice parts but overall the downtown looks the same and is not exiting to look at or to even hang out in. the airport is a big nothing that is basically half the size of los santos. it all fells very generic and not like a gta game at all, if you told me that this was a beta map for the next sleeping dogs or just cause game i would believe it, but Grand theft auto? no way mofo sack. no interiors, no unique cities, boring desert and plains, mountains that take up disk space but dont add fun.

the map in general is not good to look at while traveling from one corner to the other, its very cluttered. why so many mountains.

1024px-Gtaiv_map_hq.jpg

gta-san-andreas-map-lights-1024x1024.jpg

768px-%D0%9B%D0%BE%D1%81-%D0%A1%D0%B0%D0

there are no straight roads, no large forests, no variety. its a cluttered mess of mountains, open areas, copy and paste streets and underwater that no one cared about.

another thing i would like to add is if you look at gta 4's liberty city and you look at san andreas, there is something on every inch of the island. nothing is left open, san andreas is packed full of variety and the fact that it has only a small amount of empty space makes it feel huge. but if you look at gta v's map. there is so much negative space. weather its from mountains or open plains. there is basically nothing. it does not feel like a gta map. every gta map was full of things exept V

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

this game has so many filler missions. missions that make me say, is this grand theft auto 5, or crane simulator 2013.

the story was rushed imo and the map layout was terrible.

we got barely any interiors, but its ok because we have a vast ocean bed to explore, to bad the submarine is boring a sh*t.

the heists in the game where boring and not even as intense as three leaf clover in gta 4. the game was referencing heat so much that all we got was a very nice cutscene of them ramming an armored truck, but its ok because we get to shoot waves of police npc. how fun

there is no suspense in a heist. the paleto heist you have the juggernaut suits that make you feel invincible, the bureau raid was heavily scripted. and the jewel store heist was boring.

the game was about the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" remember when they said that. the game introduces heists but it takes place in the wrong city. the game would have made more sense taking place in las venturas. we could have gotten a freaking casino heist similar to oceans 11 which would have been more fun then a jewl store. las vegas is known for its money, why even have these three is los santos. trevor lives in the desert and has ron, a paranoide conspiracy theorist. why is ron not over in las venturas salivating about area 69. seriously trevor should have been living in the las venturas desert with ron, franklin would have been living in the las venturas ghetto with the gangs, and michael would have been living in the wealthy side of las venturas somewhere close to the strip

i could see all three living in las venturas much more than i could see them living in los santos. besides the fact that michael likes movies, its not like he needs los santos. las vegas is hot, he could gamble and could have a gambling problem hence the need to go and get money, and frank and lamar seem like the type to live in vegas and party at the strip clubs and casinos. i already mentioned trevor but hes the exact type of person to be living out on a trailer park in the desert, not an abandoned town in socal. area 69 would have been a much more interesting place than fort zancudo and might have even given us reason to care about merryweather. like maybe merryweather comes from area 69 and trevor gets them pissed of while landing his plane on their runway.

it would not have taken too much console resources to do a las venturas the size of los santos and a massive open desert with small towns and lots of other good stuff. how the hell are you going to pick los santos and not even have it revolve around vinewood. thats like if they do liberty city, but the game only has missions in alderny. wtf is the point.

i find it funny how gta online has more missions than the main story.

all this game needed was a slower paced story, everything happens so fast and i feel it was done this way so we could all just play gta online. but if the game just had more missions and more missions that actually had to do with grand theft auto instead of picking things up with a crane or doing yoga. seriously i feel like this game should have been a movie. the script and dialogue is fantastic and whitty but it doesnt work as a VIDEO GAME. there was a new character introduced after every mission, but no depth was added to that character.

i felt nothing for simeon, he was in 2 missions thats it

who the hell was tanisha. wtf was the point of having her in the campaign if she shows up for 2 cutscenes and just drops off the face of the world.

i didnt even know who agent sanchez was until i replayed the game.

and what the hell was up with this madrazo guy, hes built up as the main antagonist and then becomes a flaccid background character that causes no more trouble for the protagonists.

the side character where criminally underused. ron would have been one of the most fun characters to do missions for. ron is a paranoide conspiracy theorist who has his own freaking radio show and you mean to tell me he doesnt give out a single mission. wasted potential. he could have sent one of the protags to go look for ghosts or aliens, go explore fort zancudo or the abandoned hotel at sandy shores. he could have given out fun missions but instead, we have to walk around the map looking for spaceship parts for this hippie guy if we wanted get a space ship buggy. really? what is this legend of zelda. why do i have to walk around getting parts. i thought this was grand theft auto, the revolutionary game series.

its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS GAME.

what about snapmatic, i freaking love snapmatic, exept i cant even use snapmatic. i am one of the many people out there that have a glitch on their snapmatics that doesnt allow upload of photos and there is no patch for it. great, so now what can i do with the phone. browse the web, awesome im on the internet in a grand theft auto game.

the shooting, the shooting in my opinion is terrible. every gun has tracer rounds and every shooter is a crackshot. your health depletes faster than in any splinter cell game.

speaking of splinter cell how awesome is it that we can customize our weapons and try out the new "stealth feature" . now i can finally live out my gta fantasy of going ontop of a building and sniping people with a silenced sniper. oops too bad cops can now smell silenced rounds and will send out the helicopters to come deal with me.

remember in gta 4 when you jumped out of a car and niko bounced off the roads. reamember in gta when you jumped out of a car and mike trev frank did that wierd slide on the road thing.

My god,you are a f*cking cancer, always whining and making posts that eats half of the page, spamming the place with multiple pictures and hatespitting at the map in every single occasion with even longer posts..

there are no straight roads, no large forests, no variety. its a cluttered mess of mountains, open areas, copy and paste streets and underwater that no one cared about.

another thing i would like to add is if you look at gta 4's liberty city and you look at san andreas, there is something on every inch of the island. nothing is left open, san andreas is packed full of variety and the fact that it has only a small amount of empty space makes it feel huge. but if you look at gta v's map. there is so much negative space. weather its from mountains or open plains. there is basically nothing. it does not feel like a gta map. every gta map was full of things exept V

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

this game has so many filler missions. missions that make me say, is this grand theft auto 5, or crane simulator 2013.

the story was rushed imo and the map layout was terrible.

we got barely any interiors, but its ok because we have a vast ocean bed to explore, to bad the submarine is boring a sh*t.

the heists in the game where boring and not even as intense as three leaf clover in gta 4. the game was referencing heat so much that all we got was a very nice cutscene of them ramming an armored truck, but its ok because we get to shoot waves of police npc. how fun

there is no suspense in a heist. the paleto heist you have the juggernaut suits that make you feel invincible, the bureau raid was heavily scripted. and the jewel store heist was boring.

the game was about the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" remember when they said that. the game introduces heists but it takes place in the wrong city. the game would have made more sense taking place in las venturas. we could have gotten a freaking casino heist similar to oceans 11 which would have been more fun then a jewl store. las vegas is known for its money, why even have these three is los santos. trevor lives in the desert and has ron, a paranoide conspiracy theorist. why is ron not over in las venturas salivating about area 69. seriously trevor should have been living in the las venturas desert with ron, franklin would have been living in the las venturas ghetto with the gangs, and michael would have been living in the wealthy side of las venturas somewhere close to the strip

i could see all three living in las venturas much more than i could see them living in los santos. besides the fact that michael likes movies, its not like he needs los santos. las vegas is hot, he could gamble and could have a gambling problem hence the need to go and get money, and frank and lamar seem like the type to live in vegas and party at the strip clubs and casinos. i already mentioned trevor but hes the exact type of person to be living out on a trailer park in the desert, not an abandoned town in socal. area 69 would have been a much more interesting place than fort zancudo and might have even given us reason to care about merryweather. like maybe merryweather comes from area 69 and trevor gets them pissed of while landing his plane on their runway.

it would not have taken too much console resources to do a las venturas the size of los santos and a massive open desert with small towns and lots of other good stuff. how the hell are you going to pick los santos and not even have it revolve around vinewood. thats like if they do liberty city, but the game only has missions in alderny. wtf is the point.

i find it funny how gta online has more missions than the main story.

all this game needed was a slower paced story, everything happens so fast and i feel it was done this way so we could all just play gta online. but if the game just had more missions and more missions that actually had to do with grand theft auto instead of picking things up with a crane or doing yoga. seriously i feel like this game should have been a movie. the script and dialogue is fantastic and whitty but it doesnt work as a VIDEO GAME. there was a new character introduced after every mission, but no depth was added to that character.

i felt nothing for simeon, he was in 2 missions thats it

who the hell was tanisha. wtf was the point of having her in the campaign if she shows up for 2 cutscenes and just drops off the face of the world.

i didnt even know who agent sanchez was until i replayed the game.

and what the hell was up with this madrazo guy, hes built up as the main antagonist and then becomes a flaccid background character that causes no more trouble for the protagonists.

the side character where criminally underused. ron would have been one of the most fun characters to do missions for. ron is a paranoide conspiracy theorist who has his own freaking radio show and you mean to tell me he doesnt give out a single mission. wasted potential. he could have sent one of the protags to go look for ghosts or aliens, go explore fort zancudo or the abandoned hotel at sandy shores. he could have given out fun missions but instead, we have to walk around the map looking for spaceship parts for this hippie guy if we wanted get a space ship buggy. really? what is this legend of zelda. why do i have to walk around getting parts. i thought this was grand theft auto, the revolutionary game series.

its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film.

For example, those screen shots that made the map look huge... That's PROBABLY because there was no context given for any of them. I mean, any of those shots could have been dead center of the map for all we knew at the time and we would have imagined the map must be just absolutely mind blowingly enormous for that to be the case.

It's the EXACT same reason people think the SA map was so huge (when in reality, it's very, very small when compared to V) - the fog that hid the draw distance made it so you couldn't correlate your position with the edge of the map, therefore making it seem bigger than it really was. i remember those f*ckfaces at cvg hyping up the game talking about how when they saw the preview at rockstar the map was so massive, they could not see the coast because the map was so massive and they saw people camping over by streams. assholes

and the screenshots where so misleading

look at how massive the mountain range looks

11.jpg

and look at how huge and interesting and mysterious this one makes paleto look. and i remember people where talking about going shopping in the store

can someone tell me where this forest is?

whoa this desert looks huge

realistic mud. and this picture makes the map look so much more varied than it is

some of us love gta v. some of us hate gta v. some of us think it is ok. but no matter what you think of gta v its not a perfect game. the map sucks. it just flat out sucks. if you honestly like the map, think to yourself, if you remove all the characters and npc, and you add rico rodriguez. then it would feel like just cause 3. not a gta game.

liberty city while it was too small to capture the feel of new york city and jersey city, it still felt very detailed, with narrow roads, repair crews, and reasons to go to other parts of the map. it just felt nice and i cant expain it. but you know there was something magic about liberty city.

san andreas from gta san andreas, felt massive. and every city had different feel and there where reasons to make a trip from one to the other.

but in gta v. the map sucks, it feels too empty and too cluttered at the same time. the city is clumped up in one corner and surrounded by mountains and empty fields. thats it. what is there to do in paleto bay? everything in paleto can be found in los santos. there is no reason to cross a boring highway to get to a boring ass town that has nothing interesting. and sandy shores is only exciting the first few times until you realize there is nothing unique about it. remember that bs about being treated differently depending where you went, they treated all three protags the same for me.

los santos itself has certain nice parts but overall the downtown looks the same and is not exiting to look at or to even hang out in. the airport is a big nothing that is basically half the size of los santos. it all fells very generic and not like a gta game at all, if you told me that this was a beta map for the next sleeping dogs or just cause game i would believe it, but Grand theft auto? no way mofo sack. no interiors, no unique cities, boring desert and plains, mountains that take up disk space but dont add fun.

the map in general is not good to look at while traveling from one corner to the other, its very cluttered. why so many mountains.

san andreas is smaller than gta v, but because of the layout it feels bigger and more spread out.

the gta v map has alot of areas that are not useable, like all the mountains and the hills and empty areas on the east side of the map. this is land that could have been used for an expansion of the actual driving terrain/land and or another city/town

30wnsrm.png

the red is all of the useable open areas of the countryside and the blue is the highway

now compare that with the open countryside in san andreas

j67e3d.png

everything is spread out and not clumped up. this allows you to get lost in the map.

the gta v map has alot of areas that are not useable, like all the mountains and the hills and empty areas on the east side of the map. this is land that could have been used for an expansion of the actual driving terrain/land and or another city/town

30wnsrm.png

the red is all of the useable open areas of the countryside and the blue is the highway

now compare that with the open countryside in san andreas

j67e3d.png

everything is spread out and not clumped up. this allows you to get lost in the map.

Lol, funny how you did mark dirt roads in GTA V, but on GTA SA you did because you're a complete fanboy. I think you dont like GTA V because you're stuck on LG and cant afford NG to move on.

i remember those f*ckfaces at cvg hyping up the game talking about how when they saw the preview at rockstar the map was so massive, they could not see the coast because the map was so massive and they saw people camping over by streams. assholes

and the screenshots where so misleading

look at how massive the mountain range looks

and look at how huge and interesting and mysterious this one makes paleto look. and i remember people where talking about going shopping in the store

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

some of us love gta v. some of us hate gta v. some of us think it is ok. but no matter what you think of gta v its not a perfect game. the map sucks. it just flat out sucks. if you honestly like the map, think to yourself, if you remove all the characters and npc, and you add rico rodriguez. then it would feel like just cause 3. not a gta game.

liberty city while it was too small to capture the feel of new york city and jersey city, it still felt very detailed, with narrow roads, repair crews, and reasons to go to other parts of the map. it just felt nice and i cant expain it. but you know there was something magic about liberty city.

san andreas from gta san andreas, felt massive. and every city had different feel and there where reasons to make a trip from one to the other.

but in gta v. the map sucks, it feels too empty and too cluttered at the same time. the city is clumped up in one corner and surrounded by mountains and empty fields. thats it. what is there to do in paleto bay? everything in paleto can be found in los santos. there is no reason to cross a boring highway to get to a boring ass town that has nothing interesting. and sandy shores is only exciting the first few times until you realize there is nothing unique about it. remember that bs about being treated differently depending where you went, they treated all three protags the same for me.

los santos itself has certain nice parts but overall the downtown looks the same and is not exiting to look at or to even hang out in. the airport is a big nothing that is basically half the size of los santos. it all fells very generic and not like a gta game at all, if you told me that this was a beta map for the next sleeping dogs or just cause game i would believe it, but Grand theft auto? no way mofo sack. no interiors, no unique cities, boring desert and plains, mountains that take up disk space but dont add fun.

the map in general is not good to look at while traveling from one corner to the other, its very cluttered. why so many mountains.

1024px-Gtaiv_map_hq.jpg

gta-san-andreas-map-lights-1024x1024.jpg

there are no straight roads, no large forests, no variety. its a cluttered mess of mountains, open areas, copy and paste streets and underwater that no one cared about.

another thing i would like to add is if you look at gta 4's liberty city and you look at san andreas, there is something on every inch of the island. nothing is left open, san andreas is packed full of variety and the fact that it has only a small amount of empty space makes it feel huge. but if you look at gta v's map. there is so much negative space. weather its from mountains or open plains. there is basically nothing. it does not feel like a gta map. every gta map was full of things exept V

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

this game has so many filler missions. missions that make me say, is this grand theft auto 5, or crane simulator 2013.

the story was rushed imo and the map layout was terrible.

we got barely any interiors, but its ok because we have a vast ocean bed to explore, to bad the submarine is boring a sh*t.

the heists in the game where boring and not even as intense as three leaf clover in gta 4. the game was referencing heat so much that all we got was a very nice cutscene of them ramming an armored truck, but its ok because we get to shoot waves of police npc. how fun

there is no suspense in a heist. the paleto heist you have the juggernaut suits that make you feel invincible, the bureau raid was heavily scripted. and the jewel store heist was boring.

the game was about the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" remember when they said that. the game introduces heists but it takes place in the wrong city. the game would have made more sense taking place in las venturas. we could have gotten a freaking casino heist similar to oceans 11 which would have been more fun then a jewl store. las vegas is known for its money, why even have these three is los santos. trevor lives in the desert and has ron, a paranoide conspiracy theorist. why is ron not over in las venturas salivating about area 69. seriously trevor should have been living in the las venturas desert with ron, franklin would have been living in the las venturas ghetto with the gangs, and michael would have been living in the wealthy side of las venturas somewhere close to the strip

i could see all three living in las venturas much more than i could see them living in los santos. besides the fact that michael likes movies, its not like he needs los santos. las vegas is hot, he could gamble and could have a gambling problem hence the need to go and get money, and frank and lamar seem like the type to live in vegas and party at the strip clubs and casinos. i already mentioned trevor but hes the exact type of person to be living out on a trailer park in the desert, not an abandoned town in socal. area 69 would have been a much more interesting place than fort zancudo and might have even given us reason to care about merryweather. like maybe merryweather comes from area 69 and trevor gets them pissed of while landing his plane on their runway.

it would not have taken too much console resources to do a las venturas the size of los santos and a massive open desert with small towns and lots of other good stuff. how the hell are you going to pick los santos and not even have it revolve around vinewood. thats like if they do liberty city, but the game only has missions in alderny. wtf is the point.

i find it funny how gta online has more missions than the main story.

all this game needed was a slower paced story, everything happens so fast and i feel it was done this way so we could all just play gta online. but if the game just had more missions and more missions that actually had to do with grand theft auto instead of picking things up with a crane or doing yoga. seriously i feel like this game should have been a movie. the script and dialogue is fantastic and whitty but it doesnt work as a VIDEO GAME. there was a new character introduced after every mission, but no depth was added to that character.

i felt nothing for simeon, he was in 2 missions thats it

who the hell was tanisha. wtf was the point of having her in the campaign if she shows up for 2 cutscenes and just drops off the face of the world.

i didnt even know who agent sanchez was until i replayed the game.

and what the hell was up with this madrazo guy, hes built up as the main antagonist and then becomes a flaccid background character that causes no more trouble for the protagonists.

the side character where criminally underused. ron would have been one of the most fun characters to do missions for. ron is a paranoide conspiracy theorist who has his own freaking radio show and you mean to tell me he doesnt give out a single mission. wasted potential. he could have sent one of the protags to go look for ghosts or aliens, go explore fort zancudo or the abandoned hotel at sandy shores. he could have given out fun missions but instead, we have to walk around the map looking for spaceship parts for this hippie guy if we wanted get a space ship buggy. really? what is this legend of zelda. why do i have to walk around getting parts. i thought this was grand theft auto, the revolutionary game series.

its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film.

It's best to ignore him. He doesn't even understand the reasons he dislikes the game. Can't wrap is head around is perception of the game.

Stand on top of Los Santos Tower with fog on, and you would feel like the map extends for forever. Turn the fog off and you can see all 4 corners. The distance from LS Tower in SA to the desert is the same distance from Del Perro Heights apartments to Del Perro Beach - a distance which, in GTA V, you can still see and shoot other players with a sniper rifle.

The map IS huge, bigger that IV, bigger than SA, bigger than RDR, but now that we have it in context, now that we've all flown over it and seen it from every angle, there is no more unknown.

You don't like the game so much you bought it twice. Have you had your home checked for carbon monoxide leaks?

No, GTA SA does not feel bigger because of layout. It feels bigger because of fog. If your PC is anything less than ancient, you can run SA. Buy it off Steam, download the draw distance mode and crank that sucker up all the way. You will be astounded at how small the map feels when you can actually see from one end to the other without fog.

Nobody wanted a less gritty story than IV except for the vocal minority...

Didn't they show like only 30-40% of the players finished GTA IV's story ?

Although the story made more sense, the gameplay sure as hell was way worse

the missions were very repetitive, go to point A, kill X person, escape the police, repeat for 100 missions.

if i had to complain about the map, i would say the forest needed to be bigger, a place you could go and not see any cars for a while, same with the desert

and having to take the big highway to get to places was annoying, there had to be some shortcuts

but of course, i dont know how hard is to design or program those things, so as long as i cant do it better ill say they did a fine job

the heists in the game where boring and not even as intense as three leaf clover in gta 4. the game was referencing heat so much that all we got was a very nice cutscene of them ramming an armored truck, but its ok because we get to shoot waves of police npc. how fun

there is no suspense in a heist. the paleto heist you have the juggernaut suits that make you feel invincible, the bureau raid was heavily scripted. and the jewel store heist was boring.

the game was about the "pursuit of the almighty dollar" remember when they said that. the game introduces heists but it takes place in the wrong city. the game would have made more sense taking place in las venturas. we could have gotten a freaking casino heist similar to oceans 11 which would have been more fun then a jewl store. las vegas is known for its money, why even have these three is los santos. trevor lives in the desert and has ron, a paranoide conspiracy theorist. why is ron not over in las venturas salivating about area 69. seriously trevor should have been living in the las venturas desert with ron, franklin would have been living in the las venturas ghetto with the gangs, and michael would have been living in the wealthy side of las venturas somewhere close to the strip

i could see all three living in las venturas much more than i could see them living in los santos. besides the fact that michael likes movies, its not like he needs los santos. las vegas is hot, he could gamble and could have a gambling problem hence the need to go and get money, and frank and lamar seem like the type to live in vegas and party at the strip clubs and casinos. i already mentioned trevor but hes the exact type of person to be living out on a trailer park in the desert, not an abandoned town in socal. area 69 would have been a much more interesting place than fort zancudo and might have even given us reason to care about merryweather. like maybe merryweather comes from area 69 and trevor gets them pissed of while landing his plane on their runway.

it would not have taken too much console resources to do a las venturas the size of los santos and a massive open desert with small towns and lots of other good stuff. how the hell are you going to pick los santos and not even have it revolve around vinewood. thats like if they do liberty city, but the game only has missions in alderny. wtf is the point.

i find it funny how gta online has more missions than the main story.

all this game needed was a slower paced story, everything happens so fast and i feel it was done this way so we could all just play gta online. but if the game just had more missions and more missions that actually had to do with grand theft auto instead of picking things up with a crane or doing yoga. seriously i feel like this game should have been a movie. the script and dialogue is fantastic and whitty but it doesnt work as a VIDEO GAME. there was a new character introduced after every mission, but no depth was added to that character.

i felt nothing for simeon, he was in 2 missions thats it

who the hell was tanisha. wtf was the point of having her in the campaign if she shows up for 2 cutscenes and just drops off the face of the world.

i didnt even know who agent sanchez was until i replayed the game.

and what the hell was up with this madrazo guy, hes built up as the main antagonist and then becomes a flaccid background character that causes no more trouble for the protagonists.

the side character where criminally underused. ron would have been one of the most fun characters to do missions for. ron is a paranoide conspiracy theorist who has his own freaking radio show and you mean to tell me he doesnt give out a single mission. wasted potential. he could have sent one of the protags to go look for ghosts or aliens, go explore fort zancudo or the abandoned hotel at sandy shores. he could have given out fun missions but instead, we have to walk around the map looking for spaceship parts for this hippie guy if we wanted get a space ship buggy. really? what is this legend of zelda. why do i have to walk around getting parts. i thought this was grand theft auto, the revolutionary game series.

its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film.

It's best to ignore him. He doesn't even understand the reasons he dislikes the game. Can't wrap is head around is perception of the game.

The map IS huge, bigger that IV, bigger than SA, bigger than RDR, but now that we have it in context, now that we've all flown over it and seen it from every angle, there is no more unknown.

san andreas is smaller than gta v, but because of the layout it feels bigger and more spread out.

the gta v map has alot of areas that are not useable, like all the mountains and the hills and empty areas on the east side of the map. this is land that could have been used for an expansion of the actual driving terrain/land and or another city/town

the red is all of the useable open areas of the countryside and the blue is the highway

now compare that with the open countryside in san andreas

everything is spread out and not clumped up. this allows you to get lost in the map.

Lol, funny how you did mark dirt roads in GTA V, but on GTA SA you did because you're a complete fanboy. I think you dont like GTA V because you're stuck on LG and cant afford NG to move on.

i have a new gen console. i have the collectors edition of gta v on last gen and a copy of gta v on new gen. i dont like the game, but i explain my reasons why i dont like it

I bought the game twice and im not its biggest fan. But I do enjoy it and will be getting it for PC.

zuckmeslow's map is useless just based on the fact of scale.

choco taco made a great point about this

"One of the big selling points was the size of the map. If you use the distance stats, you get this size comparison:

H6S6Aci.jpg

There's about the same city area in both games. The desert is also a similar size in both. The Chiliad State Wilderness and Paleto Forest cover the same area as the forest next to Angel Pine. The forest in San Andreas is more dense though. Removing those areas from SA's map leaves some hills and flat land to cover similar spots in V's map.

TftiZxc.jpg

So, where does V's extra size come from? Mountains!!! Big boring nearly identical mountains.

i remember those f*ckfaces at cvg hyping up the game talking about how when they saw the preview at rockstar the map was so massive, they could not see the coast because the map was so massive and they saw people camping over by streams. assholes

and the screenshots where so misleading

look at how massive the mountain range looks

11.jpg

and look at how huge and interesting and mysterious this one makes paleto look. and i remember people where talking about going shopping in the store

1.jpg

can someone tell me where this forest is?

843-1280.jpg

whoa this desert looks huge

V-78-1280.jpg

realistic mud. and this picture makes the map look so much more varied than it is

271.jpg

blur filter and depth of field enhancer

651.jpg

yea this is what it really looks like

LOOK AT HOW MASSIVE THIS MAKES THE MAP LOOK

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

what about the animal ark store. everyone thought we could customize chop and play with him. nope you need to buy an app for that.

some of us love gta v. some of us hate gta v. some of us think it is ok. but no matter what you think of gta v its not a perfect game. the map sucks. it just flat out sucks. if you honestly like the map, think to yourself, if you remove all the characters and npc, and you add rico rodriguez. then it would feel like just cause 3. not a gta game.

liberty city while it was too small to capture the feel of new york city and jersey city, it still felt very detailed, with narrow roads, repair crews, and reasons to go to other parts of the map. it just felt nice and i cant expain it. but you know there was something magic about liberty city.

san andreas from gta san andreas, felt massive. and every city had different feel and there where reasons to make a trip from one to the other.

but in gta v. the map sucks, it feels too empty and too cluttered at the same time. the city is clumped up in one corner and surrounded by mountains and empty fields. thats it. what is there to do in paleto bay? everything in paleto can be found in los santos. there is no reason to cross a boring highway to get to a boring ass town that has nothing interesting. and sandy shores is only exciting the first few times until you realize there is nothing unique about it. remember that bs about being treated differently depending where you went, they treated all three protags the same for me.

los santos itself has certain nice parts but overall the downtown looks the same and is not exiting to look at or to even hang out in. the airport is a big nothing that is basically half the size of los santos. it all fells very generic and not like a gta game at all, if you told me that this was a beta map for the next sleeping dogs or just cause game i would believe it, but Grand theft auto? no way mofo sack. no interiors, no unique cities, boring desert and plains, mountains that take up disk space but dont add fun.

the map in general is not good to look at while traveling from one corner to the other, its very cluttered. why so many mountains.

there are no straight roads, no large forests, no variety. its a cluttered mess of mountains, open areas, copy and paste streets and underwater that no one cared about.

another thing i would like to add is if you look at gta 4's liberty city and you look at san andreas, there is something on every inch of the island. nothing is left open, san andreas is packed full of variety and the fact that it has only a small amount of empty space makes it feel huge. but if you look at gta v's map. there is so much negative space. weather its from mountains or open plains. there is basically nothing. it does not feel like a gta map. every gta map was full of things exept V

remember cvg and everyone else hyping up customizable license plates because the trailers showed different plates? yea you have to download an app for that.

the story was rushed imo and the map layout was terrible.

its things like that that makes the game feel empty. michael works at a movie studio and we dont even get any side missions related to it. how many times do you have to sit in a movie theater and watch meltdown to get enjoyment. movie studio + grand theft auto should equal some crazy missions. how is it that we dont have stuntman missions. a 2013 gta game still doesnt have stuntman missions? but we can sit in a movie theater and watch a boring 5 minute film. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS GAME.

what about snapmatic, i freaking love snapmatic, exept i cant even use snapmatic. i am one of the many people out there that have a glitch on their snapmatics that doesnt allow upload of photos and there is no patch for it. great, so now what can i do with the phone. browse the web, awesome im on the internet in a grand theft auto game.

the shooting, the shooting in my opinion is terrible. every gun has tracer rounds and every shooter is a crackshot. your health depletes faster than in any splinter cell game.

speaking of splinter cell how awesome is it that we can customize our weapons and try out the new "stealth feature" . now i can finally live out my gta fantasy of going ontop of a building and sniping people with a silenced sniper. oops too bad cops can now smell silenced rounds and will send out the helicopters to come deal with me.

remember in gta 4 when you jumped out of a car and niko bounced off the roads. reamember in gta when you jumped out of a car and mike trev frank did that wierd slide on the road thing.

hahahahaha we get it dude gta raped your mum and gave your dad cancer. Get over it and move along . Game came out over a year ago and it's still giving you mental anguish . Don't bother responding I've had another of this section for the week just reading this sh*tc*nt post im heading back to online .meme me up c*nts

Official General

- Asset businesses, boring. VC does it better and even allows access to interiors

+VC doesn't do it better. It is the same. Except for the interior, which is compensated by investing/stocks AND a much bigger map than any other GTA game.

VC indeed did it better. MUCH better in fact. The fact that you can access your the interior of your business premises in VC alone makes it better than V. On top of that, earning cash profit returns on your businesses in VC was an in-game weekly process (one or two nights), not taking forever like the months in V (like 10 nights). In VC, your businesses tied in nicely with the story (Malibu Club, selling drugs from ice-cream van, Forelli's extortion), as well as having small offshoot stories of their own, V's just felt like damn chore of extra stuff to do outside the story. Also in VC, you had your own armed gang members guarding the premises of your business, ready to shoot at intruders, nicely spiced things up even more. VC's business system really made you feel like you actually owned and ran a vast criminal/business empire - V's business system don't even hold a candle to it, how you can say such bullsh*t is beyond me, honestly.

How the f*ck is investing stocks gonna compensate for the business system's great flaws in V ? It's not quite the same thing as owning a business. The stocks thing is nothing special anyway, it's too time consuming and just straight up boring - what a waste of feature that had great potential.

And what f*cking use is a huge map, when you cannot enter many interiors and there is hardly anything exciting or interesting to see or do, or with not much things happening ?
