Is RDR Multiplayer better than GTA Online?

Redemption was a great game, the competitive game modes and the community itself were better without a doubt, and it even had animals roaming around online, which made the world feel much more alive.

It's a tough call, but considering the current state of RDR's multiplayer, I'd have to say GTA Online. I feel bad for anyone who wasn't able to play RDR's multiplayer before the modders wrecked it.

If it weren't for invisible players in the short time I played multiplayer (RDR special offer lol) I would say yes. But said invisible players ruined the immersion. Great looking game too.

My other question is this...

If and "if" a next Red Dead game drops, will you get it?

Respect RDR. It paved the way for Gta online.

If only RDR online had zombie free roam it wouldve been better to this day. Until Gta gets it

My other question is this...

Id rather a new Bully game before Red Dead. Like to see what they could do online for Bully 2

I agree. Bully was an awesome game! Imagine players/crews going to class and causing mischief around campus. Haha!

Overall GTA Online is better. However, RDR Posse System is better than GTA crews, RDR gang shootouts are better than GTA Gang Attacks. RDR Bounties is better than both GTA Bounties and Mental State.

Nope, GTA V is way better.

RDR is glitched to Hell. Infinite loading screens, invisible players, etc

We're talking about when it was playable -.-

RDR multiplayer is leaps and bounds better than GTAO, Posse system was f*cking genius.

Man RDR single player was great. Finished 99.5% of the game.....couldn't find or get that last thing I needed for that last .5 and get the last costume. Of well. When it came to online I was very late in the game and I just remember constantly getting spawn killed in the open desert on my donkey lol. Just couldn't get into the online portion of it.

RDR has an amazing story, the online was good but as said before got boring. You can only do the same damn gang hideouts before you want to yank out your hair. It also got really annoying getting spammed by gang invites

P2P games will always offer more options and that appeals to a lot of players, but they'll also be infested with hackers and wont last long.

RDR MP was amazing at the time and I still love it to this day. There are a lot of elements to it that I wish Rockstar would of implemented into GTA:O like the hardcore mode and wildlife to name a few. Hardcore mode was awesome, not being able to see another players blip on the map unless they where sprinting or firing a weapon meant you could hunt people down all over the terrain without them knowing about it until it was too late!

But GTA:O, although it has it's flaws, is just head and shoulders above it in so many ways.

Servers got buggy after a while. There were some lame glitches that gave unfair advantage til you figured out how to beat them.

Still and all, those competitive modes in Red Dead, they had it nailed. It was pure, man. One bullet at a time on your way to legit Gold Guns.

GTA Online is a whole other thing, the world is way more vast, so much more to do, so much random chaos. I am speaking strictly on the player vs player modes, I just never liked the DM's in Online very much.

As a world though, even I an ardent Red Dead lover will say, Online is way beyond the scope of Red Dead.

I loved single player RDR for the story and game play. I hated how long it would take to get anywhere.

Multiplayer in non friendly games were full of modders. Switched to friendly and it was boring as hell with the same problem as the single player and that is its tKez forever to get somewhere.

since October 2013 I came across three modders in GTA Online, in two weeks of RDR online I came across a few in every non friendly game.

I find it funny that all the people saying its glitched asf when its actually been fixed for like a year -.- Yes it went down for about a year but what do you expect when the game uses R* servers LOL.

Only a matter of time befor GTAO gets hacked to f*ckery... oh wait that already happened but people glorify it calling it the billionare days -.-

It won't get as bad since the game save isn't locally saved like rdr is ;) Rockstar can control this game a lot more then rdr ;)

I agree with a new bully over a new rd but I think if anything bully would just be a co op game, not an online game. I don't see the online part being very good for bully.

Mmm co op is an option. Its all about what ideas can / cannot be done.

For bully, would be cool to see clicks and gangs that you could join to take over the school. Dodgeball, Football, Pulling Pranks etc.

Only thing is these days the publishers have to figure out a way to make money off the online portion, otherwise to them its not worth sh*t.

And i dont see people paying $10 for extra slingshot ammo or a new bicycle. You never know.

Red Dead bests game mode was HARDCORE. Blips where not always on the map which meant stealth game play actually worked.. Melee was fun. Hardcore shoot outs where stupid fun.

But...the masses preferred auto aim.. Which killed off Read Dead for me way before its time.

Lol at some of the reasons why one better than the other, one being set in old western times and one being set in modern LA of course they will different, why would you wanna play a new game that is just a re-skin of an old game

I LOVED RDR, both online and SP

but gta online is honestly much better

Yes, there are a few things that could have been I'm gta o that were in RDR but they are not plus RDR stil exists and can be played, I know cos I played zombie survival the other day!

Comparisons never end well on these forums, at least not in the online section

When the "Bad Sport" - Be nice! notification popped up on-screen, I deleted my character and never touched it again. What a joke...

The Amazing Warrener

The possee system. The hardcore lobbies. Oh yes, the hardcore lobbies.

Nothing beats sitting in a bush with a carcano rifle and killing people 27 times before they realize you are there.

I say yes, but this is only a matter of personal opinion. Who wouldn't think that more online features and activities are more fun? GTA Online is like GTA V SP with real players, but there goes the problem, that's, it's too overwhelming. To experience this online world to its full potential, I believe that you should dedicate a lot of time for playing, which I really can't and I'm sure others can't, too, but this is our problem and not Rockstar's. I would say that the original problem comes from the shallowness of GTA's world that's dictated by the fake life of Los Santos and the generally boring map design. This is evident by the majority kind of players that this online world attracts, you know, those with silly player models, cloths, super cars and random masks. They actually reflect the shallowness of Los Santos again, in the online world!

RDR is a legend but its online, eh! Cannot be compared with GTA Online.

RDR Online is out of GTA Online's league.

Blue sh*t on the map, random invites every two seconds that you cannot disable, kush kerds, alien looking characters rather than detailed, pre-made ones, gang hideouts that aren't worth it, no forest or desert, extreme realism (can't land bike w/o dying from a certain height, character slides off ledge when you try to jump), fixed more "fun" glitches than RDR did, modders after a few months instead of a few years, no animals. I could keep going.

Yeah, who wouldn't prefer GTA O to RDR?
