Is RDR Multiplayer better than GTA Online?

In terms of Rockstar's best open-world multiplayer?

Red Dead Redemption was a masterpiece of a game. Gang Hideouts, intense posse shootouts, NORMAL, FRIENDLY, and HARDCORE Free Roam sessions, some awesome game modes (Stronghold, Poker, Liar's Dice, et cetera...)

People were FRIENDLY (although you'd run into the occasional gaming nerds who think their MLG on a video game) but it was pretty chill.

GTA Online is freaking great too!

What do you guys think? Opinions welcome!

I'm just really curious to what you guys think.

Is it cool to talk about Red Dead in here? Red Dead is in the same universe of GTA right?

There were a lot of features in RDR that should have been implemented to GTAO, but GTAO is better.

I always thought it was funny how revolvers in Red Dead fire faster than semi automatic pistols in GTA.

I loved RDR multiplayer. Absolutely adored it and to this day still have more playtime in RDR than GTA: O, but GTA: O is far superior in almost every way. There are more missions/races/things to do and so much more content to play with. RDR was only a dozen or so gang attacks(which we basically have in GTA V already), horse mounts, and a few different versus modes to choose from.

I could literally go on for pages and pages into detail why GTA: O is superior, because it technically is.

Yes but only Redemption as it fits in the "HD" era category. Revolver does not.

RDR MP is good and all that, but it just can't beat GTA:O IMO.

Online is packed with more unlimited opportunities than any other game I've ever played.

RDR multiplayer was boring as f*ck

I'm not interested in competitive modes at all when it comes to games like GTA, it's all about cooperative missions and free roam fun, and RDR's free roam was really empty.

Posse mode, gang hideouts, shootouts, liars dice, black jack, gun play, ANIMALS, And animals that are actually agressive, interiors, I miss 2010. RDR was and still is the perfect game. Too bad modders f*cked it up. In GTA online it requires money to have fun and the connection issues are terrible.

RDR is the best game ever made imo.

Online play however, although good, does not compare to GTA Online.

I loved how Deathmatches (well, shootouts and gang shootouts they were called) counted how many "headshots" you had in a match on the scoreboard. Getting a headshot in that game was very satisfying.

The Bolt Action Rifle was hands down my weapon of choice!

The experience was better because the gameplay wasn't affected by greed. They came close though. After the first DLC came out, one of the loading screens said something like use the new tomahawk weapon on those who don't have it.

Edit: Should have said greed and realism. Both of those factors worsened GTA.

Im 5th prestige 50 with most golden guns. Safe to say I dont get bored in RDR

RDR is just the game that you cant compare to any other as its on its own level of superiority that no GTA game will ever even sniff

Nope, GTA V is way better.

RDR is glitched to Hell. Infinite loading screens, invisible players, etc

I find it funny that all the people saying its glitched asf when its actually been fixed for like a year -.- Yes it went down for about a year but what do you expect when the game uses R* servers LOL.

Only a matter of time befor GTAO gets hacked to f*ckery... oh wait that already happened but people glorify it calling it the billionare days -.-

I absolutely loved RDR, single player and multiplayer.

I have never played a single player mode so intensely before, and nary will i play a singleplayer mode after i finish it. I played RDR 4 times over in the matter of two months when i got it last year around this time.

When i first got it though, online was broken as hell thanks to some piece of sh*t basement dweller who thinks hes a f*cking pro hacker, then R* fixed it in like....june or july? I had SO much fun playing online, though my gripe with it was that most of the activites were DLC based, and i didnt see the point in buying DLCs for a game that was clearly dead. all that being said, RDR online, if you arent doing gang attacks or PVPing, you really had to create your own fun, which could get stale at times, especially when you could only join like 4 lobbies, all with the same scrubs in them...

I hear online is broken again, so f*ck that i guess...

I hope they make a new one, i really do, RDR is my favorite game ever, and thats a big statement coming from a life long GTA fan like me.

I started RDR Online a bit late when all the modders were running rampant. Get into a lobby and within a minute I get sniped from some douche from the other end of the map. Or a bunch of invisible dots keep killing you over, and over. On the off chance you do actually see someone, they're in Godmode. Switched to a Friendly lobby, and it got better. Loved playing Horseshoes, and Liar's Dice. Wished they would have implemented that in GTA Online. Hell, they brought Arm Wrestling in which nobody really does, so why not?

GTA Online was plagued with modders on last gen, so that argument doesn't hold.

RDR, when it worked, was an amazing online experience. The posse up function alone is light years better than anything GTA is doing (still can't join a deathmatch with 4 friends without one of us getting split off). GTA has added more things to do, and is a ton of fun, but the overall online experience is lacking when it comes to matchmaking.

The game isn't really dead. People still play Single Player as a matter of fact. Definitely Rockstar's BEST storyline if you'd compare storytelling in their open-world games. GTA stories will never beat Red Dead Redemption's. Period.

Only the combat. It was way more balanced and more fun. Gta is just about who can blow up the other person faster.

But I like the rest of GTA better actually. If they remade RDR into a sequel it would definitely be better.

This is just about the multiplayer though. RDR singleplayer was outstanding

One thing that's better than GTA online is EVERYTHING ISNT OVERPRICED AND DOESNT REVOLVE AROUND MONEY! f*ck YEAH!

If you guys are wondering who broke the multiplayer in RDR it was this guy named "Glitched Matrix" who goes by the name of "Glitched Bane" now.

Pretty pathetic if you ask me. He even stated why he did it. Because, he couldn't get good in the game. I guess all those times of him getting smacked got to him and he snapped.
