I encountered something the other day, that was infuriating to say the least and is indicative of the new "Zoning" that was implemented with the Heist update...

 

When doing missions, one of the favorite activities fon my crew and I once the objective is completed, is to hop in a jet, proceed to the ceiling altitude and proximity fly to the finishing destination... It's not only great fun, but also allows us to burn a few minutes, thus increasing the payout dramatically. However now when in mission, there is a new system in place, that clicks on a countdown timer with 5 seconds on it and a message to "Return to Los Santos immediately", once you proceed over 6,000ft.

 

My question is, why in gods name would they implement such a ridiculous system of control? I've encountered it now on 4 separate missions (Titan of a job, Los Santos Connection, Crystal Clearout and Stocks and Scares) and it really has me pondering what this is for?!? :blink:

This happens in Heist missions, too. I think it's because they don't want us to discover the flying reptilians.

They like to add restriction and limitation for no reason, then tell you that you have possibilities and choices.

Well one prolonging the clock is for idiots while doing the multiple missions quickly is for people trying to make money. And maybe that "return" message in so people would do the mission instead of dicking around.

Well one prolonging the clock is for idiots while doing the multiple missions quickly is for people trying to make money. And maybe that "return" message in so people would do the mission instead of dicking around.

 

Yeah, because spending a extra 5 minutes skydiving to the location to net A EXTRA 10 GRAND is clearly a waist of time...

And what imaginary mission is earning you an extra 10 grand by waiting five minutes? Maybe if you'd otherwise have finished in three minutes you're getting an extra ten grand by waiting for the eight minute mark but otherwise you are looking at a few extra thousand for your escapade. After five minutes you've already made 50% of the maximum payout. So yes waiting around for five minutes is a waste of time.

 

All the other mission types have some system of control to keep the players on track, *races, parachuting, captures, survivals etc, why should contact missions be any different? ITS NOT FREEROAM, so why should it be treated like freeroam?

I noticed this while doing Extradition. Some guy on the ground got the briefcase so I took my Lazer high in the sky just to dick around while he delivered.

 

Sucks but it's not game-breaking.

 

(I swear that those f*cking dynasty signs duplicating everywhere are though!)
