Do you think we will ever see two different time periods in one game?

Do you believe that R* will have one of the future GTA games set in two different decades? I could personally see them doing it If they were to set it in Vice City with the first half being in 88 or 89 and the other half being in 2018. Online will also have one lobby set in the late 80s and the other one set in 2018 as well as exclusive missions for each of them. What do you all think?

With the work that they put into each map, I highly doubt it. It is an amzing accomplishment to say the least that they are able to give us such a big, highly detailed map. Having a map that spans different decades would require so much more work, e.g., different cars, different dialogue, different clothing options, etc.

HD Vice City could have a prologue in 70's and have a new, elaborated version of the story, it would be great. I know that's a dream though, haha.

that's one of my dreams, would be cool if we get to play as a young unexperienced crook in the 80's and then as the same guy in present day ,a washed up kingpin.

They should have a game where the first few missions you are a young criminal building his empire and then you get locked up and come back out ten years later a hardened ex con looking to pay back the people who set you up. They can even have songs that they add to the radio once you get out to make it more recent and you see newer model cars on the road.

If they ever go back to LC I would like to see a game with Playboy X and Dwayne. Dwayne's story would be set in the 90's and you would be in control of his empire and gang The Holland Hustlers at the height of their power. The second part of the game would take place sometime in The 00's when Playboy X assumes leadership of the gang and takes it in a new direction.

The game could show how Dwayne's friends change over time. Jayvon, Cherise, Playboy, and how they change. Jayvon going from one of Dwaynes best friends to being an informant and selling him out. Cherise being loyal to Dwayne then cheating on him. Playboy's relationship with Dwayne having him as a mentor and then not visiting him in prison. How Dwayne gets the Triangle club and then Playboy X handing it over to the Trunchez brothers.

 

Getting to explore LC in two different eras 90's /00's Seeing the city change over time like the WTC being there and then getting replaced with ground zero.

I liked what they did with Mafia II when it started out in the war, Vito went to jail, etc. R* should do that.
