Selling Cars to other players

So the online stock market is pretty much useless now. Why not just remove that website and put up a new one where we can sell cars and all its modifications to other players?

"5$ for 5 fully modded Adders" websites would pop up within an hour.

I think he means an in-game website made by Rockstar where you sell them for GTA$, not real money. Now, assuming Rockstar made this website, let us set the prices and you are of course talkng about GTA$ and not real currency, I seriously hope nobody would sell 5 fully modded Adders for $5... the car alone costs $1,000,000.

But it would be nice. Think of it, player wants you to find a car, and then you customize the car and sell it for a profit ofcourse. *dreamer*

Riiight, then people would sell cheap cars to their friends for profit or to random people online for real money...it would get ugly quick

"5$ for 5 fully modded Adders" websites would pop up within an hour.

Only they would use the proper usage of "$5"

it wouldnt work, you dont make a profit from selling expensive cars and you can find cheap cars yourself, why would you wanna buy off some1?

it would only work for rare cars....of which they are very few and could be made purchasable at any time

I've been thinking about this aswell for a very long time. If done right this system would be a real treat.

1) Often times you wanna get rid of a car you own, which you fully modded, just to make space for a new baby or just because you grew tired with it over time. The compensation LSC offers for them is ridicilously low (say 50k for a car which costs 100k Stock and which you spent another 100-150k to customize it with) .. Maybe another player would be willing to pay say 120k for it? That's way more than what LSC offers, but still way less than what the buyer would have to pay in case he did it all himself. Win-win.

2) Some upgrades are unlocked only by merits, rank ups or victories in races etc. Finally people who've done well in those areas could turn that in to a business. You could sell cars with parts that are unavailable to the buyer otherwise for a greater profit.

Overall I like the idea of being able to do business with other players. If R* figured out a way to implement such features in a controlled way, I think it'd be a blast!

Maybe have the same for housing/property aswell ;o

Instead of Bawsaq there'd be an "Online Auction" website where people could sell guns (special tints or rank unlocked weaponry), Vehicles, property, etc for whatever people are willing to pay for them. Either through bidding or by a solid transaction.. Now I know there's downsides to it aswell but let's be honest. Glitchers / Modders / etc are already abusing the system, I don't think this would break things up anymore than what's already broken.

I often thought an option to add to the game and allow a bit more interaction would involve Simeon's garage.

As well as selling cars to LSC, sell them to his garage too and make it work kind of like the Auction house in Forza Motorsport. Any player could walk in, look through a list of cars and bid on ones they liked the look of. Make it searchable by class and so on.

If you win the car, and have garage space, it's yours. But add a marker on it so it'd only sell for the price you paid to stop it being used to glitch money.

wont happen because of modders and all the glitched money that still floating around...

one things for sure, R*'dont want people sharing wealth.

i can take one if my adder bonds and sell it to a poor friend for $1, making him a $759,999 profit!

It will be abused. You could be able to sell a Adder for one in-game dollar and 5 real ones.

But i wouldn't mind to sell my Roosevelt, it has actually a very low mileage.

I wonder if it already adds to the price.

Tons of games did this, set max min price for every car, example adder, min 500k max 1.2m

Easy beazy

...not to mention people owning fully modded vehicles, without unlocking the mods themselves, and at a cheaper price than if they bought it themselves...not happening, ever...and this thread has been made like 20 times...

No I'm talking about people paying real life money to someone on the Internet in exchange for 5 cheap adders. Like buying gold on the Internet for games like runescape or world of Warcraft.

Ah, yes. Of course. I used to play WoW so it should've been obvious.

Anyway, while the idea itself is a good one, if it worked properly, but seeing as there are too many ways for it to be exploited, I hope it isn't something R* decided to add.

The abuse of an idea like this is a reason why Auction House was removed from Forza. Sure, it'd be nice but not happening.

It'll never happen. There's still far too many people with cheated money out the ass to make it meaningful at all.

If they implemented something like that they could curb abuse by locking minimum value at what the mod shop pays to prevent people from selling zentornos for pennies but something tells me people would break that and sell them for pennies anyway like crew challenges.

That actually sounds pretty good...simply make it auction style.

Many sports games use auction sections to sell off player cards for Ultimate Team gameplay.

Will never happen because of two words; Car Duping.

Slightly off-topic here, but I've been hearing that alot lately and I have no idea what it means. I could guess, but I would probably be wrong, so can someone please tell me?

im sure people would find a way to abuse it

This.

This is basically why we can't have nice things.

Even on these forums people publicly announce glitches and exploits as if there's no issue in doing so. If people want someone to blame, blame the users, not R*.

Surely R* are to blame by not fixing these glitches and exploits? They obviously know that they exist as people have been banned for using them, but to purposely leave them in, which is effectively allowing them to be abused, only to ban people who do, puts the blame directly on R* as far as my opinion goes.

Let me make it clear that I am NOT endorsing, encouraging or condoning the use of these exploits. I am merely saying it seems that R* are leaving them in to trap players into using them. I personally don't abuse any type of glitch or exploit as doing so will defeat the purpose of playing, not just GTA, but any game.

None of these exploits are put in on purpose but some players are deliberately looking for ways to override the system, which means the blame is squarely placed on them. If people didn't abuse these exploits (or worse, broadcast them online for others to share) then the majority of players wouldn't even know they're there. They're not DELIBERATELY placed in the game, they're just oversights.

GTAV/O is a vast game. Testing every single combination for bug-free gameplay is an enormous task. There will always be fixes and patches for games this complex but the least the players could do is to actually play by the rules and stop trying to break the damn thing constantly for their own ends.

Fixing a known problem is up to R*, agreed... but don't you think they already have a list of priorities to get through? What they don't need is squeakers, scrotes and dickheads causing more issues than previously identified and expanding that list. Seriously, i'd bet that this was a contributing factor as to why Heists took so long to go public.

But they are fixing the bugs.. And 2 days later someone comes up with a new exploit. It's basically a cat and mouse game, and it'll continue for aslong as people are looking for loopholes. So yes, the glitchers and abusers are to be blamed for this, solely. Not Rockstar.

What alot of people don't seem to comprehend (and I am not blaming them for it) is, that diagnosing the cause for bugs or erroneous behavior can be very time consuming and hard, especially in a game that has such a tremendous amount of content such as GTA V.

Hell, if we go this way, we could actually indirectly blame glitchers and exploiters even for the slow pace of updates / fixes in GTAO. Having Rockstar waste tens or hundreds of man hours just trying to fix and safeproof every single hole in the script which would probably never even pop out unprovoked, effectively stops them from writing new script and spending those hours doing something productive.

Now real bugs, bugs that bother all the players and cause gamebreaking issues, that's on Rockstar, and they should fix them ASAP. (Though it'll take slightly longer since their programmers are busy trying to keep the world together with all the thousands of people trying to abuse their system to the maximum).

but, isnt the problem with overwealthing community because of hackers already exist? If someone knows a person who is deeply in mods, what is the difference between spawning bags of cash with thousands of $ or just selling zentornos for 1$ to someone?

as far as your breath dosent smell like a dick flavour and you dont use exploits, this topic should have go in a little bit different direction. Obviously, if it was ok, nobody would hack, everyone would love it. and talk about it, but you rather want to imprecate the whole conversation to "nah, cheetorz". I mean, its like wasting Your time, since nothing important or interesting were added to the thread with talking like this.

Just try to forget about hacks. its a conversation after all, nothing more, it would be nice if it get us somewhere further for once. for f*ck's sake.

For me selling cars would've work IF Rockstar have created special tool for custom paintjobs, just like in FORZA. Afterall, people above 100 Lvl have usually unlocked all modifications for cars, so it would be useless for them. The scenario changes, when You can buy unique paintjob that noone would have in whole Online World.

Sure you could sell it to someone for $1 ingame and $5 real money but why not set the lowest amount that you could sell it for the sell price that LSC offers? Then it eliminates the real money issue.
