coffeefloat
Will Steam and Retail users won't be able to play with each other?? They would be. Both Steam and Retail are managed by a common DRM RGSC! Nice! I thought those 2 will have their own servers. Why do you people even get this idea ? It's the same game, same platform, why would the servers be different ? I'm thinking that STEAM Version might be a steam integrated game and Retail version would be SC. Oh well, it would be suck if that would be the case. My other friends will go with the Retail version and I will go with Steam (luckily having a 60mbps internet). Koger
Probably the same thing I've stated in the other million f*cking topics. First get the Steam version as I want to play it as soon as possible and a month later get the retail version because it's always nice to really own the game and not just some digital license which can be revoked at any moment. I like your point, but what's the purpose to have 2 copies of the game? Extra pleasure. And just in case Steam decides for whatever reason to revoke my license. A friend of mine got banned on Steam for no reason and lost about $2000 worth of games. Now that would be nice to happen , would it ? And as stated above , some songs were removed from Vice City and San Andreas. I actually own the original city guide which includes a DVD of San Andreas. That's a lot better than the Steam version , isn't it ?

Spider-Vice
But Max Payne 3 have some 3rd party DRM, don't? AFAIK the only R* game that is handled directly and fully by RGSC is L.A. Noire Not DRM but file protection, it's protected by IronWrap. helioNz4R
Nuuvem, much cheaper + i don't feel like going through Steam and Social Club at once just to play one game. I don't play many Steam games currently so i'm fine without it. Nuuvem - 25 euro Steam - 55 euro Not gonna pay extra 30 euro just to have it on steam + GTA V is not a new game. I'll probably buy the DVD's with the box from Allegro (polish ebay). They're always selling these after they sell the keys alone. gajrajgchouhan
f*ck according to this site http://download.stormloader.com/ its gonna take me 55 hours to download the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 55 hours !?!?!?!? Its gonna take 15 Straight Days for me to download it on my 512 Kbps BSNL internet on which I get download speed 50-60 kbps. I HATE INDIA!! Same story here bro. I don't hate India though. OT: I'm getting a physical copy. Can't possibly download 65gb, even 1-2gb patches are a headache to download. I got no problem on downloading patches They will sure give a link to download patches manually Will download it manually using IDM Cannot believe some ISP's does limit the monthly bandwidth on the DSL/fibre connection in XXI century... I have 16.5 Mb/s down and 1.1 Mb/s up unlimited. f*ck them! on-topic: I've got Steam version. Shorty_F
Pre-ordered a retail here. Not only for the price (39 euros) but also because I want to feel the box in my hands, then watch it gloriously standing on my shelf Also, having map, poster, booklet, notice etc. is part of that magical atmosphere when a new episode of GTA gets released Edited March 30, 2015 by Shorty_F Chris S and kesik

Loxias
I'm just waiting a little bit longer before i make my purchase. I don't want to pay ahead of time due to the previous delays. Though the chance of delays are smaller now, for me personally it has not been confirmed with the latest screenshots. I'll be waiting a little bit longer for the trailer. Version wise I'll most likely just get the retail version. - I would love the game on steam. But at 59€ its the first time steam is the most expensive - GMG /vip has it for 45€. But that's full digital RSC if I'm correct. - Retail is going for 49€ over here. That's the DVD set with a RSC key. so 5€ for a digital copy on release date, even if its release earlier then I can also go pick it up earlier
EvilFiend
there is just no reason to have a disc drive these days. I got blu ray and a dvd player. I got a sterio system and I have a laptop with a disc drive my wife uses to store music or w,e the hell she wants. I can buy every game at least 15% cheaper online than I can at the store so why would I waste money? There are plenty of reasons to still have a DVD drive in your PC. I could understand the "why would I waste money ?" argument if a DVD Drive was like $60 or $70 but we are talking about a $10 piece of equipment here. To buiild a PC and leave out something that costs so little but gives the PC so much flexibility is pretty stupid in my opinion. As for DD being cheaper not till several months after release it isn't. Just looking now and Steam is selling GTA 5 for £39.99 yet you can get the retail version of GTA 5 from amazon for £34.85 (free postage). Unless you are talking about digital key resellers, in which case I wouldn't trust those f*cking crooks just to save 15% Now I don't mean to poo poo DD like I said I love DD and steam I find it incredibly convenient and it is my preferred method of buying games. However with Rockstar I would NOT go the dd route simply because Rockstar has a history of removing content from the game (when licensing expires). They removed songs from GTA VC and GTA SA they will no doubt remove songs from GTA 4 at some point and it is inevitable they will remove songs from GTA 5. With a digital copy you are screwed but with a physical retail release you can always reinstall the base game. Another thing to note is that with digital download if Rockstar releases a patch that f*cks GTA 5 up you are STUCK with a broken game till they can be bothered to fix the patch (remember Steam has removed the ability to NOT update games). It happens, hell it happened several times with GTA 4. You just need to look at how updates have gone with the console version of GTA 5 to see Rockstar still has a habit of f*cking the game up with patching. However with the retail version of GTA 5 if Rockstar f*cks the game up via a patch you can either not patch the game or just uninstall and reinstall the base game again. There are clear advantages to buying GTA 5 on DVD, if you are happy to go dd then that is up to you. However no one should be laughing at those that decide to go retail for GTA 5. The ones buying GTA 5 on DVD are showing some common sense and want to ensure that their copy of GTA 5 will not get f*cked 6 ways from Sunday by Rockstar. Like I said I have a laptop with a disc drive on it so there is no need to get one for my PC and as for some songs being removed... I played this game for a year and a half (almost) already so its pretty safe to say I play with the music off for about a year now. If they break the game with a patch then surprise you cant play either. You may be able to play SP but like I said I played for over a year and 100% SP so I dont see that being an issue at all. Just realize some people have other priorities than you and youre not going to change that with some crap about removed songs in 1 game of the 300+ games that I own. If I really needed one then I would grab an external I mean you people act like you cant do anything on a computer without a disc drive yet ever since I built my new rig I havent needed one at all and this rig is a year old Edited March 30, 2015 by EvilFiend
