RedIndianRobin
DVD ROM... But seriously now. who even has a disc drive. Everyone I know that built their own PC doesnt use one and if they do then they had to go buy an external drive lol Yup. 0 likes. Nobody's laughing. 0/10 for this post. And I really feel sorry for all the Steam users. Let's see how you guys feel when they'll remove content without your notice. Not to mention how long radio station songs will be there in GTA V Steam version. Good f*cking luck! ThunderBanana and gajrajgchouhan

Vice City had songs removed from the Radio in 2011, San Andreas had songs removed last year. When the music rights are up, rather than renew them, Rockstar will patch them out where they can, and Steam allows them to do so with ease so their PC versions will always be at risk of losing content because Steam simply grants you a "licence" to play the game which the developers can change when they like. dionkoffie
I'm getting the retail version. Not because it's cheaper (50 euros) but I own every gta on CD/DVD and I want to own gta 5 on DVD too. I like the box and posters and stuff. Not that I hate steam. I love it. And my Internet isn't that bad 120mbps Edited March 29, 2015 by dionkoffie wackojacko66
CharmingCharlie
there is just no reason to have a disc drive these days. I got blu ray and a dvd player. I got a sterio system and I have a laptop with a disc drive my wife uses to store music or w,e the hell she wants. I can buy every game at least 15% cheaper online than I can at the store so why would I waste money? There are plenty of reasons to still have a DVD drive in your PC. I could understand the "why would I waste money ?" argument if a DVD Drive was like $60 or $70 but we are talking about a $10 piece of equipment here. To buiild a PC and leave out something that costs so little but gives the PC so much flexibility is pretty stupid in my opinion. As for DD being cheaper not till several months after release it isn't. Just looking now and Steam is selling GTA 5 for £39.99 yet you can get the retail version of GTA 5 from amazon for £34.85 (free postage). Unless you are talking about digital key resellers, in which case I wouldn't trust those f*cking crooks just to save 15% Now I don't mean to poo poo DD like I said I love DD and steam I find it incredibly convenient and it is my preferred method of buying games. However with Rockstar I would NOT go the dd route simply because Rockstar has a history of removing content from the game (when licensing expires). They removed songs from GTA VC and GTA SA they will no doubt remove songs from GTA 4 at some point and it is inevitable they will remove songs from GTA 5. With a digital copy you are screwed but with a physical retail release you can always reinstall the base game. Another thing to note is that with digital download if Rockstar releases a patch that f*cks GTA 5 up you are STUCK with a broken game till they can be bothered to fix the patch (remember Steam has removed the ability to NOT update games). It happens, hell it happened several times with GTA 4. You just need to look at how updates have gone with the console version of GTA 5 to see Rockstar still has a habit of f*cking the game up with patching. However with the retail version of GTA 5 if Rockstar f*cks the game up via a patch you can either not patch the game or just uninstall and reinstall the base game again. There are clear advantages to buying GTA 5 on DVD, if you are happy to go dd then that is up to you. However no one should be laughing at those that decide to go retail for GTA 5. The ones buying GTA 5 on DVD are showing some common sense and want to ensure that their copy of GTA 5 will not get f*cked 6 ways from Sunday by Rockstar. Pusman
I preordered on Amazon back in June. Not earlier simply because I couldn't. I love STEAM and how it works, but I want to have my map and instructions like in the old times. I love GTA saga above any other game. The only DRM it had is RGSC. Invite people, watch other's profile, sending messages, live chat, all are controlled by RGSC in MP3. And it's really user friendly. I never had any problem with it. Koger
Probably the same thing I've stated in the other million f*cking topics. First get the Steam version as I want to play it as soon as possible and a month later get the retail version because it's always nice to really own the game and not just some digital license which can be revoked at any moment.
