Character appearance change glitch

ah fak , he still didn't patch the appearance glitch from previous update and this update instead " evolves " the glitch ( which also changes the race )

My character suddenly sprouted a massive square chin earlier, but it went back to normal after restarting the game.

For the first time my dude turned out black after joining a mission. Never had the problem before that latest patch.

 

Back to freeroam, I went to the character selection menu and selected my guy again and he was back to normal.

That's why it's nice to have a lvl 6 secondary character, you can change your appearance anytime you please. Also got screen grabs of all my appearance settings in case a glitch caused the sh*t to really hit the fan.

 

If you haven't already invested time building a second character, I would highly recommend doing the glitch.

My character sometimes glitches in facial aspects during cutscenes an stuff but overall it resets itself after loading so its not a big deal its not like your characters appearance affects anything. maybe when they make it so that the game prostitutes care about who they blow but..eh if they make them that realistic they'll just double the cost. so... yeah no big deal. >.> its not a dating sim your appearance matters nadda.

Well you're boring. Appearence means a lot unless your one of those insane demon possessed online players who go around killing anything that moves

yes, my character is normally Asian

 

Yesterday while grinding thefirst time she changed it was subtle so I have no idea how long it took me to notice, but she was suddenly Caucasian.

 

A "swap character" reload fixed it, but then:

Again, the change isn't permanent, I find reloading your character data via the "swap character" option fixes the bug, at least temporarily.

I know its a real pain in the ass this whole character chainging bug. Happen to me aswel but those pictures before/after are funny lol ; )

I was having the same problem. I first removed/deleted GTA V from my PS4. Then I deleted the last update. Next, I reinstalled GTA V, then downloaded and installed the newest update. My character has stopped changing appearance.

I've only joined two heists at this point, but it seems to have worked.

 

No need to remove any of your single player game saves.

Mine went from white to black while playing a Capture game today. Had to reset the game to fix it.

Just to clarify, which method of undoing the bug is most reliable:

1. Quitting back to single-player and then re-entering GTAO

 

2. Simply finding a new Online session

 

3. Going to the character selection screen, and reselecting that character

 

 

Haven't been on GTAO since the update hit for Xbox One - but while I thought about just waiting until a fix before installing the latest patch, I'm actually more inclined to update the game, check both my characters are OK (or restore them with one of the above methods, if needed), then just play it safe until a proper fix comes (might just stick to dicking around in Freemode for a bit).

I say this, because with the 'wrinkled face' bug back in November, it was possible to undo it using the more esoteric-looking contact lenses (used the purple ones, m'self) - and when the fix stopped it happening, I could change back to a regular eye colour without the bug effect returning.

However, people who'd left their characters affected and DIDN'T use the contact lens workaround, found their characters stayed that way after the patch stopped the bug from happening. With that being the case, I want to make sure my characters are in proper condition before the next update, rather than have the game save them in a screwed-up state...

Btw it is save to play gta online in freemode. Nothing will happen with your character. As long if you stay away from the masks and missions. I did that a few days. My character is still the same. Whats the fun in that? Well at least you can play with your friends online or solo.

Well in that case.If even freemode isnt save anymore i will stick to my own plan and wait till they come with a real fix. Till then ill take a break from GTAO. Goodluck everyone. : )

For what it's worth, I went into both characters, switched sessions half a dozen times, and even did a few races, bought some new outfits, changed stuff through the inventory menu, etc.

All good - no change thus far. Still a bit leery about doing missions/heists ATM, but just general dicking around in Freemode (photos, Simeon's car exports, selling stuff to LSC, 5-star Lazer rampages, etc.) all worked without issue, as hoped. Fingers crossed this holds true...
