Calm Down Award

This award requires that you return from an elevated mental state to normal. However, I've tried various strategies and nothing seems to trigger the achievement. Does anyone have any suggestions? Specifically, I am wondering does your mental state have to be completely full or only more than normal? How do you return the mental state to normal? My experience suggests that waiting until the mental state resets to normal by default does not count for the achievement. Is there another way to lower mental state other than just waiting for the passage of a day? Thank you guys!

I started on this one today.

I went to where you buy masks and ran over everyone, there seems to be a lot of pedestrians in that area. Got it maxed and now waiting for it to go down.

Apparently only goes down over time.

Half way left to go.

Can you test if your mental state must be maxed versus anything other than normal (ie 2 bars)?

Shadowfennekin

I just get out my tank and blow up every NPC car on a massive rampage until I get forced to stop by the cops. Then I take a break for awhile and come back to the game with the bar reset to normal.

Working on the platinum medal for it now, got the others

Is this been mostly next gen systems that are having trouble with these new awards? I was looking through my old 360 stats/awards and saw a couple tallies for Calm Down, Psycho Killer, and even Moving Day. But I sold my 360 system last fall, and have been on X1 since. I wonder if some kind of bug or glitch happened when I transferred my character? I can't get any of those awards, plus Showroom to budge on the current system.

The only awards I have had issues with on PS3 were the one and only and the distract cops.

For the calm down I only had to let it go up to 1 bar, then let it drop below the 1st bar. It just has to go from saying Normal to Unstable and back to Normal which usually only takes 1-2 kills and no more than 5 minutes of waiting for it to say Normal again.

I believe you have to raise your mental state to a specific stage, then let it cool down ovwr time. I believe you have to increase your mentality by one bar (unstable) then proceed to be a good citizen until you're normal again. As the award specifically states "unstable." Any mentality above one bar (unstable), the award will not register.

I will test this theory shortly. And I am on Xbox One, if this info helps anyone.

Wait... what?

Testing this too... brb

EDIT^^

"Becoming Unstable encourages others to play rough with you" is in the description. Unstable is capitalized for some reason which may perhaps be the key here.

And this did not work.

Got to unstable status and all the way back down to normal (completely normal) and now count - PS4

Well I got 1/5 on this award over the weekend.

I blew the crap out of cops for a good 15 mins or so on Sunday morning after loosing my rag at a capture and got two full bars and half filled

the third, then I did nothing violent for the rest of the day in free roam and when I checked this morning I had 1/5 on the award.

What system was that on? Does this seem to only track on Current Gen, or Last Gen systems? And PC if anyone is doing it on that too?

Calm down is working on PS3 through, have done some testing on it this morning.

Completely filled one bar killing other players so status changed to unstable, did about an hours worth of

missions and was back to Normal and 1/.5 on Calm Down. Shortly about to have another look on Ps4.

I don't think this works with NPC's/cops, I think it has to be players, report to follow.

I've killed cops to fill my bar to unstable, then let it go back to normal; and killed only players to Unstable, and letting it go back to Normal. Nothing budged. This on Xbox 1 too.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've just tried one thing and I think did worked out:

I made my Mental State goes a bit over the second bar (the Unstable level), and as soon I saw that, I've just stopped everything until my state returned to the end of the first bar..

The result is: Calm Down Award increased..

So.. just put your mental state a little bit on the second bar, and then waits until goes a little bit less on the first bar..

Going from 21% to 19% over and over seems to get that award..

And then, just go again to 21%..

Ahh.. I'm playing on PS3..
