Different times lads. Different context. You didn't have option of passive mode back then.. Going AFK meant more 'cause you couldn't quit & rejoin so easily. Community was a lot tighter too, more respectful & understanding.

Way back in the early, early days, when tanks were indestructible, I apparently went AFK on Vespucci Beach (don't even recall doing it) for real life chores, to take out the trash or engage in a political debate or something.

 

When I came back, there was a little sh*t zipping back and forth in his tank, doing big figure-8's on the beach , gleefully running over my toon again and again (25 times and counting) as soon as she spawned, finger mashed on the fire button and continuous explosions, with 50 cops and helicopters going apesh*t everywhere.

 

He was having a total orgasm of cop-chaos and AFK-killing. Still in my Social Club stats as archenemy. That's the kind of mentality I associate with douche players in general.
