I'm glad that an r9 290 is enough, but this game will tear my i5 4590 apart. Dying light was only 30fps on max settings until they patched it. Now, I average 60fps on max.

Far Cry 4 runs at 60fps, but drops into the 40s whenever I begin driving fast (even after patches). But that game sucked so bad (so many pointless missions) that I never cared to finish it.

If GTA is as broken as the games you mentioned above I will definitly not get it.

But I have some hope it will work as expected and run on 60fps+High with your setup at 1080p

Yeah, I'm hoping too. From experience, it seems that:

shadows, ambient occlusion = high

AA = FSAA

everything else = ultra

is the closest I'll get to playing 1080/60fps/ultra.

GPU... CPU will be responsible for AI, Traffic, Scripts, etc. Shadows are a GPU thing.

Depends. Normal shadows taxes GPU, while dynamic shadows taxes CPU+GPU.

I hope my Intel HD4600 can handle the game until I get a good GPU. :/

From Max Payne 3 requirements

HIGHEST TESTED SPECS

Windows 7/Vista (64 bit)

Intel i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ

or AMD FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ

16GB System RAM

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB RAM

or AMD Radeon™ HD 7970 3GB RAM

Does anyone think having 16gb ram will make a big difference in gtav over 8gb? That's the one upgrade I would consider, my specs:

i5 3570k

GTX970

8gb DDR3

Asrock Z77 Pro3

No way, the MacBook Pro has a HD 6100, you won't be able to play the game.

No you don't need. RAM is for multitasking, if you're going to play 2 games at the same time, then yes, if not, no.

No its a waste...8GB is enough..actually 6GB is enough too if u dont have many resources running..GTA V limits the amount of data transferred into the RAM to load using the CPU...it wil use 2-3gb maximum. So 6GB is enough and 8GB is more than enough..and 16gb is just a waste of money

It'll run. You'll get 5-10 fps like a slide show. :D

cant remember

Don't they say this about every GTA before it comes out on PC? I'd take it with a pinch of salt, remember, they're not reviewers, they're the guys selling it.

I really want to learn what my MSI 6850HD (1GB) gonna do with GTA V. I hope I won't need for new graphic card. 1080p / 30FPS / High Quality is okay for me.

I was shocked to read that and went to look at it: http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Pentium-E5700-vs-Intel-Core2-Quad-Q6600

Kinda seems true, maybe depending on what you're doing with it, but it's not. some concerning comparisons and benchmarks in the lower end of the page. Price/performance devastates the q6600 though lol.

Yeah the performance is a little bit better on the Q6600 because of it's 4 physical cores(Obviously), but it's still a close call. And you would be even more surprised if I say I run AC Unity on that rig at 1024x768 resolution, lowest settings at 14-20 fps. xD This makes me assume that GTA V will easily handle at 720p low settings 25+ fps. :)
