Aikor
Will I be able to run it 1080p 60 fps high settings? I can with max Payne 3. Even though your cpu is overclocked you still only have a dual core so probably not high settings 60 fps because the minimum cpu is a quad core But my CPU is much more powerful than the quad core minimum. No because open world games like that takes advantage of multi core CPUs since the CPU needs to process a lot of things at once like NPC AI,Vehicle physics...etc etc

Shorty_F
I wonder what this really means; ''PC is fully optimized to support all the latest and greatest hardware....'' As we know the game has been under development for a long time, they must have focused on, let's say, GTX 6xx and 7xx... Then by "latest and greatest hardware" I would understand they want to tell us that "GTX 9xx will take full advantage to max out the game" at high rez with stable >60 FPS ! Anyway, my 970 can't wait to eat it
Shorty_F
I mean, I've never been convinced by the "polishing" reason... like most of you, OK. But just imagine that they initially focused on game to be nearly maxed out with a 770 and they worked hard on that base... while "suddenly" having the 970 and 980 released by that time... => maybe they pushed further the graphics options... (like 120% from their initial thought : drawing distance, shadows, even maybe some textures, who knows ?) This could eventually explain not only this sentence "latest and greatest hardware" but also why the last screenshots look even more gorgeous than the previous ones we got some weeks ago... I'm saying all that as a "just maybe" but that would be so f*cking nice from them, actually Edited March 27, 2015 by Shorty_F

nkjellman
We don't know for sure if the game is optimized or not. But I believe that it is. I have several reasons why they would want to optimize GTA V on PC. -GTA Online is an evolving world where they are constantly updating it. This means that they will want to keep people coming back and playing GTA V. Also, the big ole pro to the PC version is when the PS4 and Xbox One are replaced, most of the people playing the game will be on PC. -GTA Online has Shark Cards. The more people who buy the PC version, the more shark cards. If lower specs can play, that is more people who will be buying Shark Cards. -GTA IV was the first game using the Rage engine to be on PC. The engine has since improved, along with the game developers experience. -GTA V took a long time to get to PC. So they had more time to work on it and optimize it. They were focused on the technical side of things after last gen came out, as the concept for the game was already practically finished. GTA V took longer because of the time it came out. It came out at the end of the last console generation, so they had to update it an entire console generation before updating it even more for PC. GTA V is the one GTA which has the largest graphical leap between the original release (last gen) and the updated PC version. All the past GTA's didn't have their graphics updated by a whole generation. More like a half generation. Where going from last gen to PC with GTA V, it is a generation and a half. So a lot more development time and work went into it. As for the thing where Rockstar mentioned "teething issues". I think that it isn't as bad as we would think. I expect us to have issues connecting to GTA Online, and transferring characters over at first. No doubt. Last gen GTA O had issues at launch, current gen GTA O had issues at launch, both gens had issues when heists came, so I bet PC will have issues at launch. So when you have issues getting into GTA Online, DON'T FREAK OUT! Also, DON'T transfer your character right away. Wait a few days because there will be issues. I do also expect issues with the game it self at launch that will be fixed with a title update. Whether its graphical, or a game play bug. But I think it will be something that will be fixable in a title update, and the game won't be like Assassin's Creed Unity where large chunks of the game needed more work. But a month after launch, the game will work great, play wonderfully, and we will be playing GTA Online with our buddies, along with enjoying the beginning of the GTA V PC modding era. arrout, Lexus.V, Inco and 4 others
Rock Howard
As I've said elsewhere, It will want to be fully optimised like a mofo, given all these delays for "polishing". Edited March 28, 2015 by Rock Howard

PigSkinWytBoy
I'm glad that an r9 290 is enough, but this game will tear my i5 4590 apart. Dying light was only 30fps on max settings until they patched it. Now, I average 60fps on max. Far Cry 4 runs at 60fps, but drops into the 40s whenever I begin driving fast (even after patches). But that game sucked so bad (so many pointless missions) that I never cared to finish it. Plus, the game has Nvidea's stamp on it. The screenshots look nice, but all screenshots do. I'll hold my hype until I see a gameplay video. I expect it run at 30fps on anything below an i7/290x until 3 or 4 patches. ARC8_1982
im mildly optimistic on the optimization part, especially after famous Max Payne 3 PC, though you never know, it's GTA, much more complex game, ill wait and see peoples opinions, some yt videos and then im gonna make decision should i buy it now or in the future (lack of high end computer). This picture is very beautiful as a whole, but traffic could be denser indeed, maybe they didnt set it to the full because it's so demanding, most of modern games needs day one patch anyway.
