I was wondering if there might be another Warrior game coming from Rockstar at some point in the future. In fact Rockstar had planned a successor to The Warriors, according to this article http://kotaku.com/5792730/rockstar-had-planned-a-spiritual-successor-to-the-warriors To me The Warriors and Bully are the REAL special games Rockstar has released to date. We may get a game with similar themes and similar, but updated mechanics and gameplay. I hope so anyway, I really enjoyed The Warriors. I either want The Warriors 2, a spiritual successor to The Warriors or i want the people behind GTA to wise up and add the aspects that made The Warriors great into GTA, instead of focusing on completely unrelated things like bowling and golf. On The Warriors you can have fluent, responsive, brutal yet realistic street fights, using dynamic environments and what you find on the floor as weapons, you can actually tackle someone who's running away from you on The Warriors. You can mug people, rob shops, steal car stereo's, buy/take drugs, be ripped off by drug dealers, tag the streets, the list goes on. EDIT: That mods and rockers R* game would have been pure gold. I think they would have put focus on the moped/scooter popularity and opened up the worlds to accommodate that. BUT THE BENZ Posted April 1, 2015 Share Posted April 1, 2015 I don't think R* wants to get "stuck" with "old" franchises that long tbh. These guys are creators, visionists, I guess it's in their nature to do new stuff, move on to the next chapter while closing another. I fear for Max Payne to never come back from that beach again, but if they decided to just leave him be I could understand that. I would really like to see something new from R*, at the same time I DO WANT the next next Red Dead and Max Payne 4 just as much, if not even more so. But that's not really for us to decide is it? R* can make any game with the weight their name brings to the table, and I can't imagine a game out of their stable to ever "flop" financially speaking. All of their games are innovation, or to say the least a very well working concept painted with a fresh color in a new surrounding, and people know their product is as good as it gets. Long story short, I think R* wants to do a new IP in the future, and that would mean "old" franchises will have to make way, kind of, I guess. However, I highly doubt Rockstar will ever make The Warriors 2 to be honest, I just don't see it happening. Surprisingly, I never knew about the "We Are the Mods" project, Rockstar surely is full of surprises, and I think it would've been very cool. Freakyaxis Posted October 30, 2018 Share Posted October 30, 2018 Way later on from original post however the spiritual successor they were talking about appears to be being made by a startup company and actually looks like it has alot of potential they have requested backing on kickstarter however this looks like its just to speed up the games release as has been said it will be releasing anyway may be worth checking it out as looks like the next best thing maybe????
