New update major problems.

So I downloaded R* newest update today and first thing I noticed was a vast improvement with how smooth the game was. I was driving a Kuruma around the streets of Los Santos at high speed with nothing but a occasional render hiccup, but there was no more momentary freezing like there would of been yesterday. This was a lobby with 12 other people.

 

So the update looked good starting out, looked like R* may of actually fixed something. Well not quite. I went to do contact jobs with my friends and here is where things are gone to crap.

 

1) The remain as host after voting screen option is now broken. If you turn it on you join randoms, if you turn it off you join randoms. R* has completely broken this feature and stuck it permanently in the "on" position which means the only safe way to play with only friends, is to exist to free mode after every single job to host a new one.

 

2) Stability is crap. It seems impossibly to keep a lobby together more then 2 jobs. I failed Titan job twice today because the pilots disconnected from our session going into their own solo session thus leaving nobody flying the plane thus leading to it crashing. I've disconnected from friends numerous times today and even on one LS Connection we had 6 in the menu screen, started the game and only had 3 playing.

 

Lobbies are completely unstable since this update dropped.

 

 

So there are my findings, this is on PS3. For what little good this update did it's caused far more harm.

Not nessisarily yours. Everyone you are playing with, and everyone in the session. Other peoples crappy connections can make everyones game lag. Especially in jobs.

^ This. In the space of the last hour I've pulled a Michael Jackson and gone from white to black to back to white, then I turned up into what I can only think looks like the late, great Luciano Pavarotti...

If you are going to be just running jobs and not playing in free roam, then there is literally no reason not to join GTA Online in an INVITE-ONLY session. All your invites go out just like normal, to all friends, crew, skill-matched, and then to all friends and crew or those who join you, match-making still works, and you get complete stability.

 

I have been running heists since the 2nd or 3rd day like this with zero instances of job failed to download, or stuck lobbies, or disconnects, or any other crap.

 

Use the INVITE-ONLY sessions. There are so few people using them compared to all the twats using public sessions that the player pools are much more stable.

I'm on PS3 and just today everyone disconnected from a mission. I also find myself alone in a missions when I was clearly in a full mission lobby prior to the missions launching. Whenever I try to host a mission it puts me into a random one.

 

I was timing out between switching sessions like there was no tomorrow.

XB1 - I still can't select "join friends" from the online menu. My friends are not appearing online in the menu or the phone. Also, my invites are being sent through the console and not the phone.

So just gave up and quit... try again this time just load sp then try get online.

 

I hate how still loading after 15 min doesn't time out. You just sit there not knowing wtf is going on. Swear I spend half the time on gta staring at a loading screen

So I load up single player. Then join online. Now it times out. So far 25 min after sitting down for a game still no gameplay.

 

Right im joining gta online now...

 

And we are in. I mean seriously this should not be so painfull

 

Here we go joining a random heist. How could this possibly go wrong. I mean the are 4 of us joined... oh here it is .. the leader has left the setup... im gona punch this bitch in the face. End

Could have sworn this was going to be a topic on how bike and motorcycle physics are tied together, and ever time they fix stunting for bmx bike, they break motorcycle physics....this is the only issue I can attest to. I will have to test the other complaints.

Never happened to me, I have been in INVITE-ONLY on PS3 almost exclusively since the heist update.

 

Wipe your game utility data and reinstall the latest (1.23) game version. This should be done with all Rstar game updates in case people haven't figured out by now, Rstar leaves a lot to be desired in the attention-to-details department. You should assume there can and will be issues that crop up from old data being over-written by new. Get rid of the old data entirely and install each update clean.

Got the update on 360 this morning and nothing seems to have changed. Still having connecting issues that were not nearly as bad before the heists came out. They probably fixed everything but the major problems we are having.

A billion dollar game and they can't get it right. It's more f*cked up now. I have several recent clips on my activity feed of some new glitch where in deathmatches and PvP peoples characters freeze and do this pose that looks like a crucifix pose, then the opposing players die while seeing it.

Xbox one here. Nothing but problems.

Lobby splits all the time. Used to be rock solid for me. Game also crashed to home screen once, and locked up completely another time. In the space of an hour I was kicked out of 3 lobbies, crashed one and froze once.
