It's probably just me but it looks like the car deformation has been slightly improved.

Still looks pretty weird without the sides and roof deforming, but if it prevents camera clipping in FPS mode then so be it.

I thought the same, I was testing it out, only bumped the side of the train a little bit and the back end of the Rancher got pretty jacked up.

"we are investigating a fix now" heavily implies this is a bug. That video someone posted on the other page is proof that these kinds of things happen on accident. It's a common issue with developers and coding. Squash one bug, and a few others pop up.
But whatever. I'm willing to be some retard is going charge in here head-first, convinced that Rockstar purposely included that shadow bug in the new patch for whatever dumb reason they can muster up.

I have been playing a couple Of hours om ps4 SP now, car deformation is back and better than before, some cars feel netter to drive aswell, like they improved speed and handling especially in The slower cars like voodoo, tornado and emperor feels way more fun to drive. Also fences are no longer indestructible like The fence in The allyway in East LS where Michael beats up rocco on The rooftop.

I don't wish to whine, but why the hell is it that every time I install a new update, my settings default? I keep getting a screen telling me to adjust the brightness. And the new vehicles from the Heist update STILL aren't in single-player either, wtf.

 

Definitely noticing a graphical downgrade as well. Rockstar done f*cked up with this one. :v:

The update probably comes with a new .ini or something. I don't know exactly what would cause a reset of settings.

that seemed like a super rare bug since the game released...

 

i've got it maybe 4-5 times....

 

just press Cancel... circle or whatever... if you try adjust your settings and confirm the settings it will reset all your options as default

 

 

but if you just cancel, or quit the GTA V app (I forget which) and start the app again, it loads your old settings, button layout, etc fine

 

at least for me

Well I own the PS4 version and it has done it almost EVERY time I started the game up after updating, sometimes even without.

so far I've noticed:

 

+ deformation fixed... confirming others. deformed multiple vehicles in a row across multiple loads, deaths, or without any loads between

+ my Cargobob and Rhino Tank are back (and stay back)

+ the Lampadati Casco on Trevor's garage Special vehicle list was removed (not necessarily a happy thing but seemingly a bug fix haha)

 

- Trevor still reverts to default (even if I change him) every time I load any saved game (old or new)

- parallax occlusion still gone

- many of my Notifcations (Pro Tips) still reset every time I load a saved game (old or new)

- Weed Farm still doesn't respawn (......lol)

 

deformation seems about the same as before... still rather heavy from trains but slow and minor from actual car crashes

I close the application when that happens or sure as shooting it'll randomly cut to the prologue after a few minutes. Edited by Cutter De Blanc

not sure why... for me it was always random... i thought it was maybe related to saving the game underground because it happened a few times when I saved and then loaded the next day inside the subway....

 

but i was never able to reliably re-create it

 

 

either way, just try close the GTA V app soon as it says adjust your brightness.... hopefully it should load fine (all settings remembered) when you load the app again

hopefully it works cuz i hated haaaated that bug before because i customize my sensitivity and dead zone settings a lot and it drove me crazy :panic: trying to remember exactly how many clicks from the left or right i had each setting at haha

These are the 4 likely scenarios:

 

1. They remain Online exclusive and we have to use save editors

2. Rockstar eventually adds them to Singleplayer sometime within the next millennium

3. Rockstar integrates the heist vehicles in PC version similar to what they did to the DLC vehicles from last gen

4. We mod the f*ck out of the PC version and put them in the game ourselves

Exactly Creeper! Last Gen and PC players will just mod these vehicles in and all Rockstar has to show for all this an even more angered and agitated SP fanbase! Man, really shows how far they've fallen as a gaming company, from best to absolute worst!!

Why is the Armoured Kuruma in Online in the first place?

It's used for a heist in GTA Online.

 

Why does the Insurgent appear in GTAO?

It's used in a heist in the GTAO "story."

It's understandable why people want these things in Story Mode, but they have no context whatsoever. It's the same reason Single Player didn't get snowy textures during Christmas. SP has a story/canon it follows. Everything that's added to Online has nothing to do with what happens during the story in SP, and there is no reason that these things should appear at any point.

 

This was especially bad on the PS360 where every time GTAO got an update (Hipster, High Life, etc.) the vehciles were automatically added to the protagonists' garages, and the weapons were automatically added to the inventory/already on the player at the beginning of the story.

 

If anything, when the Single Player DLC rolls around, maybe Rockstar will probably find a way to implement them into that storyline.

 

But hey, GTA V and GTAO are supposed to be separate entities - right?

Hey cp1, then why did the hydra appear in trailer 2 the one with skeletons in your closet which was a story mode/singleplayer trailer? Why were purchasable safehouses on dynasty 8 part of the official singleplayer gameplay trailer? Why were vehicles added to singleplayer with every online update until now?

game already has plenty of military vehicles that have no story context of being used by the player....

 

 

it's likely just another bug or oversight

 

i doubt Rockstar would do it to encourage people to play GTAO because they could have done that for every GTAO car patch.... if any of those were MP only, it would encourage some people to buy them with RMT in MP

 

but Rockstar always added them to SP anyhow

 

so they'll probably do the same for these too based on past behaviour

This looks like last gen, is there anyone that can confirm this on current gen? The last update was deceptive as car deformation deactivated after about five minutes of playing.

 

It's the Golf Course.

 

Those saying deformation looks better, I think it's some sort of Placebo. I'm On 1.06 I see no reason to believe deformation is better.

 

I'll stick with 1.06 because parallax occlusion maps are everywhere in the game, the 'Downgrade' 1.00 vs 1.08 didn't really exemplify it well at all.

in what way are the heist vehicles going to affect singleplayer??? We will only be using them in free roam...

Vehicle deformation is not 'improved' in this update. Only the impact damage is changed.

 

Believe it or not, but GTA V has better vehicle deformation than in GTA IV. It is just that vehicles in GTA V have very unrealistic impact damage. If you want to see the real potential vehicle deformation in GTA V you have to crash your vehicle like a madman. But that may not even be enough. This is because Rockstar have set the collision damage very low. I can't wait for the PC version. It will make it possible to tweak the collision damage to a realistic level.

lol Remember playing with the vehicle settings file in GTA IV. You could almost make it so your cars were made of paper..

yeah i've played it a day now and i really don't see any improved deformation or change in frame rate either... seems about the same as before.

 

probably just a placebo or people maybe incorrectly remembering how good or bad deformation used to be.

So.. Didn't see this posted anywhere else.

 

Anyone else notice the Velum guages still aren't fixed? The VSI and ASI have their data crossed. Remember first time trying to land one of those, stalled because my guages were telling me that was doing around 100knots when in reality I was doing about 30 and fell out of the sky..

Who cares, car deformation is back! Something that was already there!

 

Parallax occlusion is still missing, no heist vehicles in SP, but hey, car deformation is back! Time for some R* ass-kissing!

 

I´m sorry if I´m not too excited about the return of car deformation, but I have working car deformation AND parallax occlusion in my game, because I didn´t download this 1.08 garbage.

anyone notice any weird teleporting?

 

i feel like I've had a few cops or NPCs... like maybe 1 per hour or so, teleport or warp around a bit... like, if you watch my video above, a cop car gets stuck in the train tracks with the cops still alive inside... but technically that cop car should have been pushed the other direction

 

and then near the end of the video, a cop car flies off the cliff as I'm shooting and out of view, and then suddenly it's just hanging in the air

 

i've seen that a couple other times... like a NPC that, as I approach, sort of drops out of the sky from 2-3 feet above

 

 

 

i'm not sure yet... like I said, only seen in a few times in maybe 6-7 hours of testing this new patch... but it's a bit weird and just the way it happens is different than anything i've seen before. not sure what to make of it yet.
