just tried to kill a guy who kept blowing himself up if he was about to die. he had the bulletpoof helmet on, so it was harder to kill him. when he was low on health he blew himself up... guy wanted to protect his KD of 3 for sure, i can't see the fun of the game if you do this...

Personally I don't think K/D matters at all, but I wont just let someone spawn kill me. To me it doesn't matter but it matters... I don't know.

Also part of the fun of having a high K/D is having a noob check your stats and try to come after you with his friends, only to fail miserably.

You can look at your overall KD by going to the weapons tab on the Social Club page which will include PvE also.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but that's combining player and AI k/d, and it's also counting freemode. I don't think that's a good determiner of skill.

I have a kd of like .70 and I can't care less since obviously I don't get in any fights.. Would be kinda fun if everyone I ran into wasn't a pus and got into a tank, glitch, jet, suicide multiple times or go into passive after killing

K/D doesnt matter much in this game when you have auto lock and griefers in choppers and Jets going after low lvls or just taking pot shots from their sky chariots. These are the same people who are crying for a H.L nerf, lol. Mine is a 1.60 and its all been PVP deathmatches (for the tattoo unlock) with a sprinkle of Free Aim, Free Roam revenge killings. I think that killing more than you die is extremely important in a game where you lose money when you get put out but ive been in DMs with the likes of JTRG and other elite FR crews (those that have no mercy and kill on site) and their high KDs dont mean anything. A high KD wont save you from getting domed right out of your bulletproof helmet. Lol

IMO the only time it matters is at the end of a deathmatch where the match results are shown.

Exactly. Some people think its a way to show your glorified digital penis size.

But its not.Its just a stat.

Kd only important when you have good kd . People who have bad kd say go play cod.(whateverthatmeans). Kd means that the player with the high kd has alot more fun then the person with the low kd.

I don't go into Freetown to drive with traffic or rob

Stores . I go free roam to grief . Non stop, because I LOVE hearing noobs cry bich and moan on the mic . I love spawn killing and I love chopinf people up with my helicopter in passive mode.

CUS IT'S FUNNY. I've gotten over 50000 kills my

Kd is 3.83 . And it means yor good . Nobody with a 1.4 kd is going to put me in my place . Would I be scared to fight someone with 10.0 kd?!? Nope id try and take it from them. But if I was losing I'd already know why. Cus PEOPEL WITH HIGH KD MAKE IT BUSINESS TOO KILL AND NOT BE KILLED. I don't like looking at loading screens. I like laughing and flying away waiting to spawn kill.

What system you on there champ? I have a k/d of 1. I'm pretty sure I would own you.

Lol . U sure about that pumpkin?

Does it really matter? as in, if you have a low k/d ratio are you considered crap?

LOL, its not like this has been discussed before.....Oh wait....

Really though, a game thats plagued with modders, and God Mode, its too difficult to trust a players k/d because most likely it is NOT legit and the player has cheated in some way or fashion.

I hold somewhat extraordinarily high (what somewhat claim a supposed modders level) but I don't do this sh*t... I fought a crew solo that did that kind of crap. I kept pulling quick headshots on them in drive bys.. next thing you know, C4 is come out at their feet every time I get near. Funny thing was.. none of them had a similarly high k/d. They just couldn't handle taking multiple losses by 1 single player.

Im gonna catch heat for saying this and i really dont care but from hours and hours of playing this game, ive noticed that most people with high K/D ratios are cowards who use exploits and mostly vehicles like tanks, lazers, and bulletproof cars and as soon as they are killed, they go in passive mode and/or switch sessions and do it again. But for those who got a high K/D from deathmatch/fighting on the ground, i can't diss them.

The way i look at it, as long as you are above 1, theres no need to panic. Usually the people with 1-2.5 K/D are the toughest competition, and people above 3+ are very schetchy. I myself am at 1.55 and slowing rising, i don't care all that much about it being that high.

Those that stand by.."K/D? padded this.. mod that, AFK kill.." Yeah, sure. A lot do this. The glitch/cheating community is huge.. but there are legitimates that simply play smart. Here's an example.. Just last night I had some guy text me on phone saying to "come at me bro". I told him he was in a glitch (one of the well known wall glitches) to which he just replied "how" and I went about my business for about 20 mins. Maybe he thought I was unaware of the exploits in the game? I have no clue. But I will say I don't use glitches like that. I just keep fully aware of all the known wall breaches so I know how to get in them if I need to take a glitcher out. This guy couldn't handle the fact that I wasn't a moron. I hopped right in the glitch Off Radar and Passive, disabling passive at a good time and pulled out a gun to kill him. He left the server immediately after death and hid 'Offline' when I msg'd him asking why he left.

But just because I play the game strategically against a certain situation makes me a cheater/godmoder/modder.. etc.. no matter what tactic/exploit they were using...? I think not.

What I think this is all about isn't the number.. it's how they got off on killing you, but you couldn't pull a kill back on them. It's a playstyle. Nothing more, nothing less. Playing smart is part of a playstyle that'll raise your K/d. Rolling around in the middle of the street in a hotzone for a few hours is a playstyle that'll keep it pretty low.

Not boasting, just purely an example.. but I'm holding 8.15 K/d without a tank, or living in a jet (rarely fly) or excess passive use (AFK or other IRL stuff or to take out a glitcher) . I do not use godmode or mod or whatever else the haters want to come up with.. I don't abuse any visual glitches such as the invisible torso bs. You can fully see my character. I do not reverse in bulletproof Supercars.. in fact, I run completely open to all elements, on a streetbike and that's all I drive.. I use dirty tactics on occasion, yes.. but all said strategies are within the game guidelines and is not abusing an exploit to get an advantage over another player.

That being said, not all High K/D players use cheap means. Again, it is a playstyle. Use that # to judge their playstyle. Yes.. they MAY be a glitcher or cheater in some way.. but it narrows down what he may or may not be doing. I've seen modders have 1.2 K/D but in Godmode and a glitch.. so yeah..

Lol. This buzzardsh*t is the perfect example of why KD doesn't mean anything. No skill, nothing but cheating to pad his stats so he'll have something in life to be proud of. Sad really.

a high kdr doesn't mean much. you can easily pad it by being a pussy and using cheap tactics like sniping afk players and jet griefing while using passive mode as a cruch.

However a low kdr does mean you suck. I don't care what anyone says here if you have a kdr of 0.18 and are a rank 200 you suck. I see it all the time.

The facts are that ranks are no guarantee of skill (high or low) and neither is a high kdr. But a low kdr does mean you suck.

I have a kd of .78 that means I suck? I wouldn't think I do. Mostly all the survival mode games I play I'm alway on top of the leader board minus a few rounds here and there. Truth is, I don't care about my kd. I'm mostly in free roam and someone would say "let me try this" and they'll kill me in some odd fashion. Low kd means you like to have fun and goof around. High kd and you're that dick bag that drivers around and gets the easy kills or sit on top of lsc with a buddy getting them easy kills. Or you might be that dick in a jet that can't be brought down.

This is why kd is pointless. It doesn't mean you have skills. It just means who is the bigger douche that wants to just kill over and over. I do find it funny how most of the "good" players don't like doing one on one death matches. That's where your true colors show.

This sh*t has me rolling! The (inflated) 2.5+ kdr gets exposed REALLY quick in deathmatches.

Commence circle jerk!

On Topic: In all honesty, it provides a gauge. It's not always accurate in telling whether a player is good or not when it comes to PvP, but it's more accurate compared to simply going off a players rank in most cases.

This is a old ass thread. ^^^I liked this guys answer^^^

My K/D right now is a 1.28 and slowly risen over the past few months. The ones I have encountered for the straight year that are 3.0 and higher are half cowards. They go to with a jet or tanks or other sh*t like that. The minute you retaliate and kill them back a good few times. They either want to go to passive mode or they want to leave the session. sh*t...If they are good like that in death matches, last team standing and captures than they get my full respect. There another thing I noticed the past 2 months. They will try to cheat you and go from passive mode and try to kill you. If you don't fall for it they go back to passive mode. All because the higher ups want to keep their precious high K/D ratio up. K/D is nothing if you don't have the skills to back it up.

Personally I don't place much stock in KDR. The best players I play with online all have KDR's less than 1, but I've also played with people who had a high KDR and sucked. The main thing I look at when meeting new players is what level they are. This tells me how much they've played the game, which gives me an idea of if they know what they are doing. Even that isn't 100% reliable though, I've played with some triple digit players who were still just god-awful, as bad as any low-level heist random I've ever played with.

Likewise. I've been working on getting mine to 3.00 for a few months now. It takes about 30-40 kills without death to raise it just .01, but it's so satisfying to watch it go up. :p Currently at 2.76 I believe.

I most likely would have reached it a while ago, but I mess around with friends quite a bit which always results in my repetitive death. It's tough to judge someone's skill basing it off of KD itself though. I've seen many great players with lower KDs & I've also seen players with double digit KDs get brutalized in gunfights.

It's essentially a useless statistic, but I'm glad it's there & I'm glad mine is higher than average. :p

Yes OP, it matters, it matters A LOT! In a game like Battlefield.

LOL I find killing others boring with less than 64 players. Yeah, one on one DM, lets stand behind a wall for a few minutes!

To be honest, my KD was earned from just f*cking sh*t up non stop. Ground game, air game, car game, running game, passive game, tank game, any game. I have done it all and am good at all of it.

I am all that is man... In a game. Lol

almost every time i see someone with a KD above 3, i immediately assume it's some puss who always has "kill yourself" on speed dial and often times hides behind wall breaches like a bitch.

so i guess KD finally does have a meaning to me- if yours is too high, then i'll likely think you're a boring c*nt and will want nothing to do with you.

Last night me and Carimbo were playing and this kid called ''whterthanurmum'' was killed by Carimbo,he goes in passive mode near us,so I keep an Auto Shotty near his face,he decides to go out of passive mode so I kill him.He respawned and kept on taking the easy way out. Then there was this cover hugger that killed Carimbo,so a Rocket near the cover took him out,he went passive too.

By the time we killed everyone around the TT LSC,they all went Passive. When Carimbo left they kept following me,getting out of passive trying to shoot me.

Its very funny how people take K/D so seriously, the system for it is so skewed that most rational people don't give 2 flying f*cks about.I just play casually and have 1.0 KD because I don't care about it,I want to have FUN.
