Since I mostly joke around with friends and let them kill me, no kd means sh*t in this game. Same thing goes for people with high kd, they go for the easiest kills in freeroam.

I have crew member with a similar k/d that is just like you. My k/d is 1.25, and guess what.... I kill him more than he kills me.

 

Only reason why yours and others like you have that type of stat is because you grief players aren't ready for a fight and you can't people head on in combat.

I'm level 124 and someone actually asked me why mine wasn't higher (it's like .68 or something like that). I just purely don't care, and I'm not going to stoop to being an asshole to improve an arbitrary number that has no impact on my life.

I never even check other players k/d ratio. It's so easy to boost it, it would be a waste of time to check. Like has been said, it would really only be good for spotting trolls/griefers.

That said, I didnt know what mine was until I just looked, took me a while to find it to.

 

I dont play DM's or Captures or any of that crap though. Only play with my mates in free roam/race & they are better shots than me.

They tend to snipe me while I am looking for them, I tend to hit them in the face with a rocket/grenade/flare lol

I like your answer. It's somewhat true. But you must understand you cannot fully explain how it feels to have a high kd. And what edge it is you have chosen to gain an upper hand if you cannot break a 1.5 ratio.

It's tough too keep it positive, a player like me could come along and SMASH an entires week of kills out of you

So maybe you call 3-4 friends in. And I SMASH them too. 15 times each x 5 . 75 kills in 30 minutes.

Assuming your all red dots . That's, 18750 rp. NO LOAD SCREENS NO MISSIONS AND 800 dollars

Anything under 1 you are probably a casual player or just arent very good.

Over 5-trolls, jet/tank griefers, modders.

I watch out for the guys with 1.5-3/4 ranked 160 and up.

I'm in the threes myself and i view the game exactly the same way. Me and my crew laugh all the way to through freemode. Site seeing and cats shows are fun but we all get the belly laughs from griefing til we are all alone in the lobby.

I'm going to completely disagree with you.

 

I have a fairly high k/d. I have entered passive mode exactly five times (all because it was passive or pee on the recliner). I have never entered a wall glitch. I do not use a tank. I do not strafe the ground with jets. And yet, I use the terrain and my sense to combat any enemy stupid enough to challenge me. What is that less honorable than? Standing in the middle of street like an idiot?

 

- Is it less honorable to take cover and only shoot at someone when they are moving or reloading? No. That's tactics.

- Is it less honorable to blow up a car someone is hiding behind? No. That's tactics.

- Is it less honorable to call a mugger to provide a small chance to move or take a shot at someone pinning you down? No. That's tactics.

- Is it less honorable to take up a defensive position in a difficult to access location to defend a bounty? No. That's tactics.

 

Plus, I'm not entirely sure what "honor" has to do with much. If you think every fight should be (a) on equal terms, (b) in the middle of street, © only using melee weapons, and (d) between two people, then you may want to ask yourself why you're playing this game.

 

What you are right about is that the k/d is a gauge - but you're wrong about what it gauges. This forum is full of people saying, "My k/d is crap but I can take anyone on" blah blah blah. As someone who's k/d isn't crap, I haven't found that to be the case. Often, when I find myself up on someone by double digits (because they don't give up), I'll take the time to check their stats. Without exception, they've never had a good k/d. Meanwhile, on the flip side, when I'm in a fight that appears to be at least close to even, I'll check the stats and (not shockingly), they don't have a terrible k/d. The k/d can be used to gauge the fight you're going to have.

 

I've said it here before: k/d should be used to decide if the person is someone you want to take the chance of fighting with. You might look at my k/d and think, "This guy's a cheater or glitcher or tanker, so I can take him." But you're wrong on at least three of those counts. Conversely, looking at someone's k/d and seeing a particularly low number, I know I don't have much to worry about from that player.

 

Despite the way these forums pretend the stats can be manipulated (tanks and jets are not the threats they once were), they are there for a reason. Pretending they don't matter for anything is all the better for those of us who know how to use the stats the right way. Which is why this thread has been started before and will be started again - and every time by someone with a terrible k/d.
