This is just getting a tad over-the-top, For every bug an update fixes, something else gets broken, EVERY time.

Car deformation is purely cosmetic. There is no reason for them to purposely remove it.

No it isn't, it also affects the car's functionality. Smash up a car a tad too much? it will simply not start the next time you get in.

I'm really proud of you man. Did you get so upset that you just stopped reading my post right there?

Like I said, it made no sense for them to want to purposely mess up the car deformation, especially if it made things easier. But that's all in the past now, because it's a confirmed bug you twit, and it was fixed.

Where did you get the impression I was upset? You can't read emotions over text (Especially on this forum), stop trying, thanks. :santa:

Secondly, you said NOTHING about the engine, you were talking about axels, two totally different things. (Unless you know nothing about cars.)

(What's with the insults? You need to relax, dude, I wasn't attacking you.......and you didn't need to post the damn thing ten times, I get it.)

In 5 minutes I'll be updated to 1.09! Sweeeeeet! To be honest, the moving trees and car deformation will overshadow the missing parallax effects.

This downgrade patch is only to make the PC version look fairly better than the NG consoles versions

Ok Mr Smart, can you state another reason to they downgrade the game for consoles like they did with OG before the NG release?

First off when the heck did they downgrade last gen? The issues the current gen version has at the moment are purely accidental, car deformation can be explained as it could well have been an issue of devs messing with damage on armoured vehicles and not realising\caring about the issues it caused. Graphics downgrades are also likely just an accident its incredibly easy to turn something as small and relatively insignificant as parralax occlusion off when working on so much new content. The PC version already looks miles ahead and people who were going to buy it on PC have likely planned a good bit ahead so the consoles looking worse will not matter at all to them..

I don't get how you accidentally "turn off" graphical features like this.

First there was the trees not blowing in the wind.

Now the damage...

and the antotrophic filtering

and object popping

wtf?

Instead of rushing out every single update, why don't they test the hell out of each and every single update before releasing it to the public. This is just so unprofessional, I mean, how can you f*ck up something everytime you release a new update.

One step forward and two steps back...

Because this needs time and money. It´s better for them to release a half-baked update and then let millions of gamers test it and report to them what´s wrong (for free, of course).

In ancient times, when consoles didn´t have an online connection, devs had to deliver a finished product. But this isn´t neccessary since they are able to let the buyers test the game and after they report the issues, countless patches can be released.

well technically they didn't turn off damage since there were tricks to make it occur again

so it wasn't turned off per se but likely some bad net code related to how GTAO and GTA V SP deform cars differently.... where SP was behaving not just similar to MP but instead completely turning off damage

parallax mapping... dunno... i mean some people still say they see it on certain things...graphical bugs happen... could just as easily be unintentional or intentional, though I see no reason why it would be intentional see the SP frame rate was fine before and it's not a particular memory-heavy technique since it's basically just a facade

pop-in dunno i don't have any pop-in and never even knew that was a new issue

could just be like the trees in the wind though... and receive a similarly slow fix haha

On Xbox One yesterday there was no update. Let's see if there is now. Caue the damage models were still sh*tty.

Even billionaires are incompetent. I am not surprised. I've seen so many incompetent people in my life time that it becomes second nature now. You KNOW there will ALWAYS be a problem.

Pretty much this. Anymore, we are all paying beta testers for most software.

parallaxscroll

So what about the latest update, 1.10, did they restore the parallax occlusion mapping on PS4 / Xbox One or not?

I have the PS4 version but reinstalled it from the disc without letting it update.

1.10: Any word on if the motion blur setting works? Is the performance still good?

1.10

-Parallax occlusion mapping restored

-Motion blur is not working.

-The anisotropic filtering hasn't been fixed yet. It looks like the PS3 version IMO... :(

Patching a game costs money. Not just development money, but it actually costs money for devs to upload a patch to PSN & XBL(tens of thousands per patch apparently). So it's in there best interest to test.

Also developers still, as ever, have to deliver a finished product that hasn't changed. Back before consoles were online, games were far, far simpler & yet plenty were released only half finished or had game braking bugs. If they were going to be fixed they would need to reissue the game, which often didn't happen.

Ditto.

I'm kinda sad now that we're just back to how things were at 1.06. Now there's nothing to fixate on. I wish they at least got motion blur working. Why'd they include the option if it does nothing?

Because Rockstar is the laziest game company in the world and they are tired of whining costumers
