Two different settings kid, GTA V is exactly how South California is. RDR is set on borders with Mexico so thats normal. RDR graphicaly doesnt look superior, get over it, it might have better country side, but thats it. RDR has better forest because it has well more forest, but forest in GTA V is much better looking even if its smaller

Not sure how it is on the 360, but on the PS3 the framerate dips are bad.

 

People give GTA V sh*t for it's framerate drops, but RDR gets it bad. I'm not trying to knock it down, RDR is a great game, but it's just a fault you have to accept. Regardless, I'm sure I'm going to get plenty of responses telling me to f*ck off, and that no such thing happens.

The aliasing for RDR is just awful. Good god. That alone makes it worse.

 

To be fair, that aliasing is just as present - maybe even moreso - at 720p on GTA V as well. That was a jagged ugly nastiness on the old consoles.

 

And to be fair to the other side of that debate, RDR is like infinitely times less complicated than GTA V. You'd be shocked if you saw the difference in the two when it comes to overdraw, asset weight, and things of that nature.

 

It's sort of like - key word here is sort of because GTA IV is much heavier game per-frame than RDR as well - but it's sort of like how GTA IV has the deeper simulation on vehicles and handling and player movements and ped reactions to certain things, ability to push people, etc - it was a smaller game with a smaller scope, so it could expand more.

 

Max Payne 3 is the best looking Rockstar game ever made until the PC version of V comes, even then, it still might be MP3 on PC maxed - that game is pretty incredible.

What graphical features were messed up in the PS360 version when the NG versions launched? I don't remember that.

Loading times were increased longer than they usually were, pop in took a massive hit in SP which didn't make sense as the "extra" content wasn't being streamed into the game on the map or anything (apart from that model replacement on the beach but that was fine in Patch 1.04), rain effects were decreased slightly, etc, just small things like that. However since the Heist patch, most of those are fixed again, loading times are still a bit bulked, but in game stuff seems to be back to what it was before being broken.

 

Yeah I agree. I dug my PS3 out after not playing it since september, just to try the heists. Heists were disapointing and playing on my PS3 was really underwhelming. The Long loading times, slideshow framerate. blurry graphics, etc. I honestly cant play on it. Its not worth playing Last gen just for GTA V.
