Here you can see all the downgrades made in GTA V (anisotropic filtering, parallax oclussion mapping etc ALL GONE).

UPDATE 1.09: DAMAGE IS BACK, BUT STILL NO ANISOTROPIC FILTERING NEITHER PARALLAX OCLUSSION MAPPING

Rockstar only fixed the damage, the rest still the same:

Come on, let's send messages until we get an answer!!

Good video. I hope it gets fixed soon. Parallax occlusion was one of the best features of the new version, in my opinion.

Maybe this downgrade was meant to be used in online mode, but accidentally it was applied in single player mode too.

I think the Dev team went on a holiday after heists, leaving only the cleaner, 2 interns and the receptionist there to make the last patch. That explains the Boxville.

That or they had a bring your kids to work day, they were aloud to program for a bit. Maybe.

Garbage. car damage was already bad before, meanwhile red dead redemption still has better graphics than gta v

In the "popping" portion of the video, half the cars looked like they were floating above the road...

Im serious, play red dead redemption with 1080p output, the graphics look amazing. this may have to do with the fact that its a smaller game than gta v but the textures amd colors look much better. Detail in wood objects and environment is amazing

This is most likely a bug rather than a design thing, its not like a slight drop in resolution, it's surprising ugly now.

Send the video to the news sites, that'll make it a bigger issue. Its news worthy, the youtubers might actually mention it too.

There's moaning at them, telling them on support but support aren't very good. Eventually, after between 2 and 6 weeks they'll give you the we're looking into it answer on support. Or it's a design thing, because the best way to show off your game is to smear it in sh*t.

All to convenient for me that it gets worse the closer to the p.c release we get.

I do hope it's just unintentional and will be sorted soon though.

I still don't believe it looks better than GTA V. GTA V looks more detailed to me. Wildlife may look better in RDR, though. But that's because it's a smaller game, like you said.

Are we moving closer to the PC release or is the PC release moving further away? LOL

How's it possible that these guys, f*ck up the code with every single update?

There hasn't been so much complaining since the tree movement. It's like déjà vu :D

The game's not unplayable, it bugs me so playing it is now impossible. There will probably be a patch before the PC version comes out.

Posted a thread about this here, maybe it is intentional.

http://gtaforums.com/topic/778307-theory-about-graphical-glitches-in-latest-patch/

Basically, the TL:DR version is this:

I put forth that, since they have not acknowledged it, perhaps it is intentional based on -

PC specs were released and are very modest with a note "requirements will raise in the future, these specs are just for now"

With that in mind, it tells me that, since consoles cannot be upgraded, the only way to upgrade your experiences (add things to memory, add rendering and script costs), they need to downgrade what exists.

Just like how as the PC version upgrades, PC players will have to manually lower their settings themselves, or upgrade. Spend money, or lower settings like the consoles get.

That's the gist of the theory: Consoles can't be upgraded, so to keep adding to the game, things need to be taken away.

Could just be something broken. But they havne't acknowledged it.

What's with the RESOLUTION of the "Popping" skyfall scene? Why does it drop from 1080p to 720p, or at least appear to? What's with that?

MAYBE the PS4 got patched with PS3 settings, if the theory is not correct, and needs to be fixed.

I still think it's probably to do with inability to upgrade the console since it's fixed hardware, so the game must be downgraded to make room for new things. Theory is as good as anyone else's. And not worse.

I've played both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption on my fat PS3 on a HDTV and have to say that Red Dead Redemption looks a lot better than GTA V does, it's also running very smooth whilst it's almost impossible to play GTA V for me because it's stuttering all the time ... an issue I never had with any game before GTA V.

Red dead does look better on last gen, the world is more alive too. On PS4 V looked really good for 5 months.

I gotta disagree with @TheMostKnowledgable. A small portion thought the "trees movement thing" was due to console limitations but in fact it wasn't. The same most definitely applies to this scenario aswell.

I wouldn't say most definitely, but I would agree that it is highly likely that you are right. Your guess is absolutely as good as mine.

Is the Xbone version effected? It's "supposedly" the weaker of the two consoles overall, surely it would be effected first if so.

Are the old gen scaled back any? I would think they would need to be scaled back before the newgen.

You don't know how worried this made me get...

I mean, PC Version is about to come, and they just f*cked up the graphics on the PS4...

Either it's bad optimized, or these changes were Online only and they f*cked up and made them active to SP.

Or some temporary change due to performance issues through the last added content.

IDK, that ain't nice.
